Hawke .

She was fun , and while we were stuck with 3 personality . I still had (and have) fun playing DA2 . And Hawke was priceless .

Inquisitor

Because while I find we have more in the wheel of dialogue , there is a lack (like everywhere in the game) of different emotions . But I vote my Inquisitor cose she is a freaking TALL QUNARI! *ahem*

Warden:

Last because , beside the 5first minutes of each story the rest of the game is the same . Same dialogue , same ostagar , same everything . If ya dont role play.....well it isnt for ya . And wasnt for me...game bored me .

the blank spaces are for those that will be better than inquisitor or hawke. Not sure how they could get worse even though I am sure they might pull it off.

 1.) Warden

2.) Hawke

** Drops off a cliff **

3.) Inquisitor.

Seriously, this was one of the bigger disappointments of the game, and perhaps largely because I did not see it coming. Inquisitor was just so blah. I thought with the beefed-up dialogue wheels I was seeing the trailers that they could only go up (and I had no problem with the RP mechanics from the previous game). In this game, they are weak.

This is difficult, since basically all my characters are me. I tend to follow the judgments I would make the first time, and roleplay that as my canon play-through for better or worse. That said, Hawke first, and then the Inquisitor/ Warden just about equally. As others have mentioned, I felt my Hawke was much more realized than the other two since there was so much material from the writers to work with + my head-canons.

Either Hawke or Warden.

The Warden was great for headcanon, and Hawke had a nice, rich preset backstory.

The Inquisitor was not easy to headcanon with due to the lack of variance in dialogue choices, and also lacked a backstory.

Warden- Inquisitor-Hawke.  Hated DA2 and he/she was sort of useless.

I have trouble answering this, because I've made Wardens I liked more than some of my Hawkes and Hawkes I liked more than some of my Wardens and Inquisitors I liked more than some of both. It's more a matter of individual characters I created than groups. At the moment, my top five protagonists in chronological order are:

1. Cousland rogue diplomat who married Alistair, my very first Dragon Age character.

2. Aeducan warrior who did the ultimate sacrifice, my favourite Warden.

3. Aggressive pro-mage two-handed warrior Hawke. So much fun to play both in and out of combat.

4. Sarcastic blood mage Hawke who romanced Merrill and yet still somehow managed to become Viscount.

5. Dwarf rogue Inquisitor who spent much of the game asking 'you want me to lead what and defeat who now?' and telling anyone who'd listen that she was not the Herald of anything.

I really liked my diplomatic mage qunari Inquisitor, too, so I guess so far they're all about even.

Cadash>Hawke>Brosca.

The voices helps me to get a better understanding of my characters. Sarcastic Hawke was just the best thing ever. He made me laugh on more than one occasion, especially Carver keeping dad company, and Gamlen can't say good morning without lying twice. But, Cadash takes the cake for a lot of reasons. He actually was the one that I wrote up a whole backstory for, and the character arc in the game was amazing for me to witness how far he has progress from his backstory.

Also, Cadash could be one of the most important person in Southern Thedas, which will give people different view points on a dwarf. They aren't all stone worshipper, and can believe in the Maker just like anyone else. They aren't all out for themselves, and they can take the role of leadership to lead humans, elves, qunari, and even other surfacer dwarves out of the chaos, which was how Cespar was after becoming the inquisitor. He was ready to be the leader that Southern Thedas needed.

I like my Brosca a lot, but he always had that dead look on his face while everyone showed emotions toward him.

Most Favourite - Hawke, his story was more personal and I liked his friendship with all of the companions. He followed closely by Warden, the origins make me care about him personally and I liked his interactions with followers too.

Least Favourite - The Inquisitior is... just an empty shell. Nothing in this game makes me care for his story, he has no real personality and all of his companions feel more like acquaintances rather than friends.

Warden - Because the story was great, the game actually followed through and made some sense and made the hero feel special.

Inquisitor - Feels very generic, but at least i could make "almost" what i wanted in a hero.

Hawke - was like reading a book, set character, set world, set story..

Hawke was a vapid attention seeking landmine, I would rather do a lot of things than experience that character again.

Warden and Inquisitor were kind of the PC so... I don't know... weird question, I'd guess I'd go with Warden based on the variety of responses.

Note that I love all of my DA protagonists...

1. Inquisitor:

Voiced character plus a reasonable amount of roleplaying options including situation-dependent expressions of personality. Has the disadvantage that some of her lines lacked the impact of Hawke's, but the more nuanced roleplaying more than made up for that.

2a. (sarcastic) Hawke:

I couldn't roleplay Hawke nearly as well as the Inquisitor, but the pre-arranged sarcastic personality was great. I still replay DA2 here and there - I just wish I could skip the atrocious combat.

2b. Warden:

I love my Warden(s) and wouldn't have put them in this place a year ago, but these days, when I replay DAO it's just too noticeable how much is lost from a character's presence if they remain unvoiced. Yes, it means I have a wider range for roleplaying, but DAI finally combined a fully voice-acted character with an acceptable, if not ideal, level of roleplaying. If I had to choose between the lives of my Warden and Hawke, the Warden would still win, but I'm finding it's more enjoyable to replay my Hawke now than my Warden.

.

.

.

99. Shepard. Shepard was never the brightest to start with, but when they became canonically StupidShep in ME3, I lost all connection.

Hawke (Sarcastic especially) > The Inquisitor > The Warden

Despite the backstories, I could never get attached to the Warden when they didn't have a voice. I feel like the voice acting (especially English male and female voices) gave the Inquisitor much more character, although they should have made the time to include origins/backstories for the races.

Hawke was and still is the BEST protagonist made by Bioware. Sure DA2 wasn't anything special but Hawke made each return trip worth it in spades. The Inquisitor is ok but they lack Hawke's delivery when speaking lines

The Warden was boring imo no amount of headcannon can change that, I don't care how deep a backstory you thought up for them
