We talked about this last week until a mod closed the thread. ( http://forum.bioware...se-of-next-gen/

I asked the mod ( http://forum.bioware...3-biowaremod03/ ) what should happen next, twice. As I got no reply I assume we are free to continue talking about it.

Main points that were made:

- Cleavage/impractical suits - Samara, Miranda, (teacher) Jack, to a lesser extent Benezia.

- Suicidal breather masks - going into a vacuum without anything to cover your eyes, ears, butt and/or other bodily openings will get you killed.

- Armour not being "armoury" - we all understand that a game needs to have a unique feeling, but spandex, latex or leather, these things do not protect against bullets, fire, ice.

Most of these points has some people for and against. While I myself can not logically find a reason why someone ought be unprotected on the battlefield, others felt this was part of the unique game feeling/ aesthetic.

Discuss.

Ps. As the mute mod mentioned, please keep it civil.

While you do have point I honestly think there is 0% chance anything like that will be altered should they do a remaster. This should be feedback aiming at their next games.

We don't know that.

The games will need a slight (or in the case of ME1 slightly bigger) overhaul to bring it to Xbox One/PS4 standards, if you ask me while they are at it they might as well tape up some holes in armour.

*edit*

It might also help to keep future iterations of the game more in line with the aesthetics presented in the original game instead of the more teenager specific EA boobification of the latter ones. Yes there was cleavage in the first game but if you can name more then 2-3 you know more than I.

I doubt it will be removed if and when a remaster comes out.

I like for it not to be in the next game

I fear you are right on the first and I hope you are right on the second part.

Artistic integrity, remember?

I believe they will not spend the money on artists designing new looks, 3d character artists build the new pieces, texture artists create new assets, animation people check for clipping issues, code put everything together only to be yelled at for "retconning" the games.

But yes, it would be awesome.

I really hope they will value common sense over comical super-hero character design for the next game.

Hell no. I LOVE the outfits, and they add to overall charm of the game for me.

Bioware better not screw with them, and I hope in ME4 that some of the main female characters have similar outfits.

It's likely all they'll be doing is tweaking the coding so it's compatible for Ps4/XB1 and fixing any graphical glitches such as what happens to the newer 8 core AMD processors that end up turning characters and objects into black blocks nothing more than that. Would be nice if they did more but I'm not counting on it.

By black blocks I mean things like this bug just to let people know

It's questionable, although likely, that we'll get a remaster at all. If we do, I doubt they'll change much at all, certainly not something like this that the fanbase is more or less going to be 50/50 on.

I'd much rather they spent the time and $$$ restoring cut dialogue and fixing bugs tbh.

They are not going to change the outfits etc. of the previous games in a re-master, which is probably why the thread was closed.  It's a non starter.

That said, there is nothing wrong with cleavage :P.

But I get your meaning:  when going into battle, one should wear the appropriate gear, not sexy club outfits.  However, I think some of this judgment is based on a bit of ignorance.  For example, it's fairly standard practice in science fiction for space explorers, or what have you, to wear a form fitting jumpsuit on board ships.  This clothing is (literally) a space age fabric, with some thermal properties, but more importantly, functions as an under armor layer.  When in a spaceship, the ability to quickly don spacesuits and armor would be imperative.  The snug, flexible, stretchy under armor worn as clothing would facilitate this.  Of course, one could wear clothes over the under armor layer, if one wishes.

But yes, when Miranda goes into combat, she should be wearing full armor.  This is especially the case when they are in situations where there is no breathable air.  Miranda, Jack, Liara, etc. should have full environmental armored suits.

Gosh darn it. I read the thread title too quickly, and did not first see the "in case" part.

The moment of excitement was real, as was the following disappointment.

What are we talking about then? Cleavage? You know what I'll make a trade with BW. They can keep the cleavage if they stop shoving the camera's pov up Miranda's azz. Or any future azz....azzes..azz-i...

hmm.

Spandex in space? Someone better get on the phone to CBS and chastise them for not using the recent TNG remaster as an opportunity to deck Riker out in armour whenever they beamed down to random planets.

Also, Troi, put your cleavage away FFS!

And let's not even get started on TOS......

How about put the hot girls in tight onesies where there is air pressure and no combat. Like, e.g. not on the battleground of some hostile planet.

For the battlegrounds i prefer armour to shiney tight onesies thank you very much.

Before we do all this BS, Bioware need to actually learn how to design some proper club outfits first. You go into Purgatory and people are wearing those ugly ass colonial outfits and floor length dresses ack.gif

I'm generally not impressed by this sort of thing either way, but just the same, it's one thing when it's how the character cares to dress for everyday life, but it's another thing entirely when it's during combat. I don't have a problem with any of the character's manner of dress, but I do have a problem with the fact that this is how they're equipped in hazardous environments and heavy gunfire.

why go out ugly when you can go out in style :D

honestly i never really thought about it

for me it was just part of the mass effect charm.

"TIM : I've complied a list of Soldiers,Scientists and Mercenaries."

I see we still can't get over the fact that Miranda's neither a soldier nor does she have to get off the Normandy until Illium and the Collector Base.

As for the Breather Mask it produce its own Mass Effect field or something whatevs.

I'd say no to that one as the games are much easier to just swap in as to remove stuff. Besides, such things are necessary for the survival of the species, in the ME that is All species..lol even when fighting for their very lives!!

It's always, to me anyways, a  little funny when the characters in a movie/and/or apparently video game drama take time for a snack in the middle of the end of the universe as they knew it...billions of critters (human/tech/or alien as it were) just gone fishin, ecept they're the fish, so'n so sitt'n in a tree..etc.

(a strange thing happens on the way to the center of the universe? as I won't buy the game anyways if it's on those formats because I don't buy consoles. Moot point for me.)

I really hate that mask though lol. What's weird is that Jacob doesn't even have long hair and he has one. I also wish that Kasumi got that cool looking mask that the N7 Fury gets in ME3 multiplayer. Also, it's kind of funny how Liara has a proper helmet in ME2's intro, then it's never seen again.

It was really wierd the first time I saw it, I thought it only fit Mordin as his was larger than all the others, but it probably came down to resources of designing helmets for everyone's heads ( Miranda's head was seemingly larger than all the other females) but then after playing ME2 was much I was pissed that Shepard didn't have a breather mask as well.
