You don't think having edi's labia modelled in loving detail would not be alienating for a woman?

Everyone made fun of the cameltoe, including men. I still don't know if it was a glitch or done on purpose. It wasn't offensive as much as it was silly, because it's a robot body.

An inflitration robot.

Guess Bioware had some fleshed out ideas how this infiltration process would work out in detail.

I don't want to discuss anything with you because you already have your mind set and are egging for an argument.  I see that you have an opinion on it and want others to have some sort of input but all I see is that you put them down for sharing it with you.

I don't disagree with you, I have my opinion and want everyone else to share it with me.

But before the release of ME2 (and this is the key part of this whole debate) everyone did share it with me.

And the people who find this all reasonable and fine, they mostly (like you) choose to ignore that shift.

I didn't realise that if Mass Effect didn't have gratuitous arse shots, dromedary feet, straps over nipples/ erect nipples and copious amounts of cleavage it would render the entire game boring.

 1) Boobsplates: check
Shape emphasizing patterning: check
Only HALF a visor: check

Did you ever even play ME 1?

Conclusion: Aesthetics were a leading factor over practicality in ME 1 already. That doesn't make the games any less immersive. For people to complain about it, simply means they fail at immersion THEMSELVES. Harry Potter is no less immersive than a SciFi movie. And neither is the least bit realistic anyhow. Immersion has nothing to do with realism.

2) I knew it was just a matter of time for people to start pulling Godwins using other examples than nazies.

3) I actually find Bioware games becoming slightly more mellow eversince they were taken over by EA. Graphics quality went up, but the games lost some of their provoking edge.

Nope, I played most Bioware games within a week after release since Baldur's Gate, Just Shattered took a bit longer, and I never really got into NWN. Maybe if they hadn't picked such a fairytale-ish name at the time, I would've picked it up. As for the Elder Scrolls: I quit playing those after Morrowind, since it became very apparent Bethesda had no interest in ever returning to the game depth of Daggerfall. Sorry kid, but I don't see what you're trying to suggest either way. All I notice is you trolling around these forums to turn Mass Effect into a poor HALO ripoff. I'd be playing HALO if that interested me. Maybe you should, it fits perfectly to your requirements.

1) When outside (on a moon for example) it would be the full mask default and this could not be changed. Did you never notice that?

2) Poor arguments beget poor replies.

3) I believe we differ on the definition of provoking. This is what I believe they feel is becoming more and more important.

4) HALO is not really my thing, I played it on the original XBOX and it was ok but not great. Everything I have seen since then on the 360 with friends showed me the story is not as deep or as interesting as I'd like.

What I was going for was: how many ass-shots did you see in Fallout? How many times did Alyx (almost) flash her perky boobs at you? How many guys or girls in tight outfits with crotch-deep cleavage do you see in Skyrim?

I agree competly with this I never thought of them as being sexually objectifyed to me it actually added to their personality and character.

Just because you did not, does not mean that is not what they were designed for.

I like cleavage and hot outfits.

It's fiction.

****** off and stop trying to hinder fun and creativity in games.

I love cleavage and hot outfits!

Why do you reply when you do not understand what I (and many others with me) are saying?

Should we explain it differently?

Well, I mean...  Ehh.

You're arguing that they should return to the fully covered styles that they had in ME1, when they themselves created ME1.  When they, themselves, created the entire MEU.

Question: do you like Star Wars?

I love sexy looking women and outfits in my fiction, yet in real life, I respect women and treat my girlfriend very well. If your kids grow up not knowing what's appropriate in fiction and in reality.......

In reality, the porn industry is booming, rape is more "common" than ever and mysoginy is rampant basically all over the globe.. But that is another can of worms we should leave closed because then gamergaters may "swat" me :P

It is a sad fact though, that that is the case.. Just because you grew up as a loving guy does not mean other more easily influenced "target audience members" might not take away the wrong message or imagine a message that was not intended to be broadcast.

Form-fitting catsuits with plunging necklines are not exactly a stepping stone to the apex of creative character design. One could argue that it takes more creativity to balance out armor designs that reflect each character's persona with a greater sense of utility. Besides, combat armor designs do not preclude the existence of sexier outfits. After all, these characters are not in combat all the time.

Ah yes, what self respecting nerd does not love Star Wars eh?

I must admit, you are a better man than I, personally I was quite upset when George Lucas suddenly decided he could change tons of things in Star Wars just because he felt like it. Why did that not bother you?

I liked some of the movies, but I found the SW universe to be a bit...dry. I'd take the MEU over it any day of the week.

Errr, what things did he change?

I must admit, I'm a first time looker kind'a guy.  Meaning that if I take a look at a game and I like it, I'll hardly ever read the books (or any books) associated with it, simply because I feel that they will influence me one way or the other.  Same way with movies.  Except for I Am Legend, which had a fairly decent story (the movie) and alright end.  Compared to the book which had a kick ass story and even more of a kick ass end.

I mean, there are some examples to the story which I'm telling you right now where there are exceptions, but Star Wars and this game aren't two of them.  I have read Redemption, but even that was a little off putting.  Liara pulsating with biotic power half the time isn't my cup of tea.

Errr, what things did he change?

You didn't see any of the "Han shot FIRST" t-shirts? It's probably the most famous change he made to the series. Originally, Han shot Greedo before Greebo even had a chance to shoot back. Then he changed it, into Greedo shooting first (at point blank, with an accuracy even worse than that of an Imperial Trooper), the fans complained, since this was too obvious a change, and the current version (if you buy the DVD right now) has the two shooting simultaniously (but obviously, Greedo still shoots even worse than an Imperial Trooper).

It's basically as silly as when Steven Spielburg "remastered" ET. The part near the end where the military captures ET, the soldiers no longer hold guns, but mobile phones.. Changing the entire atmosphere of the scene, from fear of the military shooting ET, into uhmmmm fear of tumors from mobile phone radiation I guess?

YOU'RE WRONG! :P

Seriously though, are cleavages really that big of a bother?  It's a small part of the game.

I like boobs and sexy women.

I'm not even going to argue that butts, boobs, and sexy women should be there because of creative character design, equality (God knows people love their equality) or whatever excuse people come up with to make sure there are boobs in game. That's taking the high road, and frankly that's just exhausting.

Call me a pervert if you want, but hell I love me some cleavage, and butts, and all those wondeful stuff.

Yes to cleavage. Yes to butts. And Yes to sexy women! :D

Sexiness is fine, as long as it fits in context.  Females running into a firefight in a catsuit/leather strap does not fit in context (Especially when standing next to much better armored males).  They can dress like that all they want on the ship, as long as they put some goddamn armor on when they need it.

Again, the issue isn't the mere existence of revealing outfits, but rather that these revealing outfits are also being used during combat, in a universe where combatants typically are heavily armored to protect themselves against weapons fire and hazardous environments. It looks pretty ridiculous when Jack is wearing nothing but a torso harness or possibly a vest over it on a planet with a toxic, irritating cloudy atmosphere (Grunt will comment that it stings). As casual getup, if they wear revealing getups, whatever. They're loafing about on a ship or at a hub or whatever, but when trekking through a battlefield where weapons fire is lapping everyone's asses, maybe that catsuit doesn't look the part.

This is a pretty far departure from the hazardous environment mechanic that was implemented in Mass Effect (though in fairness, certain liberties were taken there as well, since Ilos was supposed to be hazardous too).

*sigh* Ok, I suppose if it really means that much to you guys, then I'm just gonna go ahead and forget all about sexy outfits.

Whatever happens to sexy outfits next game, even if they don't exist, I won't object.

I only pray that if they do give us full combat suits, they also give us combat armor paint.  And make it so that we can change how the different characters look.  Because I'm sitting there in a fight for my life, I've got Garrus up to my left and Jack over to my right...   Just to find out the two are reversed and I'm screwed.

You could ask your fellow Bioware-er, he also posted in this thread btw. http://forum.bioware...han-shot-first/

South Park even made an episode about the travesties by Lucas and Spielberg: http://southpark.cc....e-china-probrem

That is his many many (former) fans feel about it. It would be a waste if (former) was to be applied to ME if they continue to tinker with their own established universe as they have done.

Well, lemme tell ya.  If I didn't notice it, there aren't a whole lotta people who noticed it.

(incoming, massive sweaty neckbeards to tell me I'm wrong)

Wait, are you saying that you did not notice some big changes to Star Wars or when you noticed did not mind? That you noticed the enormous stylistic changes between ME1 and ME2 and did not mind?

I thought you said they were your two favourites? Why do you not care what happens to one and not the other?

Lol Is it? Is it really?

Yes it is. It is really.

Hey don't go that way, I never asked for "sexy" to be taken out only for them to "bring the sexy back" the next game. I believe we just want "the sexy" to be limited to places in which it fits.

For the same reason Shephard does not walk around the ship in his armour with his guns.

Please refrain from being a tool, I asked a question did I say I was a teen? no I did not.

No you did not, but you also appear not to have idea of what raging hormones do to teenagers so I went the safe route and assumed you had not yet reached that stage.

And if you do know what I was trying to say, why do you act as if we are speaking a different language and you simply do not understand? Are you trying to be obstinate on purpose?

Which one is it? Clueless? Pretending to be ignorant? Or is it an age thing?
