Cleavage may sometimes be impractical but it is never unnecessary.
In case the ME trilogy comes to Xbox One and PS4, get rid of unnecessary cleavage and other impracticalities?

When in a spaceship, the ability to quickly don spacesuits and armor would be imperative. The snug, flexible, stretchy under armor worn as clothing would facilitate this.
But they did not don anything though, except the breather masks.
Gosh darn it. I read the thread title too quickly, and did not first see the "in case" part.
The moment of excitement was real, as was the following disappointment.
What are we talking about then? Cleavage? You know what I'll make a trade with BW. They can keep the cleavage if they stop shoving the camera's pov up Miranda's azz. Or any future azz....azzes..azz-i...
hmm.
Why not both?
Sorry for undue excitement..

Cleavage/hot girls is part of mass effect why would anyone want to change that ?
i dont get you people.
![]()
If it is part of mass effect, where were all the butthugging jeans, ass-camera-angles, cleavage shots (benezia already being mentioned) in the first game? They went with one style to set the universe then basically ditched the style to make it more hormone accessible.
Kind of a shame.
Before we do all this BS, Bioware need to actually learn how to design some proper club outfits first. You go into Purgatory and people are wearing those ugly ass colonial outfits and floor length dresses
Agreed! The dancers in Chora's Den are nice to look at, no complaints at all
One could make the argument about those people that many (yourself included) have made for the artistic freedom taken with Samara's cleavage, Jack's tattoo-niform and Miranda's yummy bum however.. Be careful about who you side with here ![]()
why go out ugly when you can go out in style
honestly i never really thought about it
for me it was just part of the mass effect charm.
A charm that apparently suddenly appeared after the first game?
actually, in the future the clothes will be sprayed on... we're talking millions of years in the future...
Ah yes, millions of years in the future, in 2183.
You calling it Latex doesn't actually make it Latex you know that right? your idea of what's an armor is outdated, Detectives were concealable vests for low profile half the time you can't even tell that they're wearing it, are you going to say it can't protect them because it doesn't look "armory"?
No matter what you wear (except maybe those dragonscale things), people who know what to look for will always notice. And are you saying they were wearing "low profile eye-protection"?
Why are people such prudes these days? Let's get rid of all sexuality and romance while we are at it.
Prudes? Honestly do you people not read the thread? Or the previous one? I have no problem with it, it is just the manner of its delivery that irks me and many others it seems.

NO!
- Cleavage/impractical suits - Samara, Miranda, (teacher) Jack, to a lesser extent Benezia.

YES!

Yah, also happens on Ilos to a much bigger extent. :-/
Yeah I know it does that's why I said issues like these need fixing if they ever plan on a rerelease on the new consoles as they use similar processors. I hope if they do they'll pass that fix over to PC too as I have that issue on my system. I'm using the workaround to get past it but it's still annoying.

-Benezia, half naked Asari and skin tight outfits appear in the first game.
-Depends on how you look at it, they did meet other races that jumped started human tech by thousand years.
-Were did I mention eye protection? and the only way you'd notice those vest would be undress those person.
you have no problem with it but you're calling for it to be removed??

What bothered me most, aesthetics-wise, was Ashley's hair and Diana Allers. Her hair should have been short (well above the shoulder) or tied in a tight bun. That's typical regulation for military and civilian police. And there's a practical reason for this: Long hair catches and is a liability in combat.
I also didn't care for Diana Allers. For one, I thought the face looked off. She looked more like Blackie Lawless than Jessica Chobot. I also rolled my eyes at her outfit. She's supposed to be a professional journalist...so what's with the outfit? Too revealing...too tight.
Actually, too small. My wife taught me that the skirt should not "scoop" your ass in the back. If it does, then it's too tight.
And her role added little value. Honestly, if they removed her altogether then I would be fine. But if they insist on having a reporter on the Normandy, then at least put some more professional clothing on her...and make sure it fits.

I'm fine with sexuality as long as it makes sense in the universe. Seeing Miranda in a breather mask on the heretic station is neither sexual nor romantic, it's, well, dumb IMO.
Well to be fair, she wasn't the only one. Grunt, Mordin, Samara, Jacob and Zaeed all only had breather masks as well. That was just overall poor design for the games situation. Everyone should have had more space worthy outfits for that part of the game.

Humans are sexual beings, yet now everyone wants to try and repress this. Kinda silly in a M rated games where we can kill hundreds of people. Yet that seems to be okay.

Also why is no one talking about Jacob working out with no shirt on in LOTSB? Or James with his shirt off getting tattoos? Or Kaidan shirtless etc? It's only skin people, no clue why so many people get offended by this in 2015. Seriously some of you need to relax, and even grow up a little. Some sex appeal in media (tv,movies, games) isn't a bad thing. Hell, it's pretty common place. And no it's not always just woman being shown as sex objects. Soap operas have done this with guys since forever. Movies like the Twilight series also do it.

...because I didn't encounter them. Probably because I didn't have any reason to because of context. That's the main issue: context. What does seeing Samara's seemingly enhanced breasts in COMBAT have to do with anything? Why do I see the outline of Miranda's labia in her COMBAT suit? Why does Liara's COMBAT armor have to accentuate the curvature in her breasts?
"Grow up"...being grown up also means not having to have sexuality thrown in your face at every single turn for no apparent reason like I'm some sex starved 15 year old trying to unscramble the Playboy channel. Context. Taste. It matters.
Maturity is more than just being able to "see" sexual content meet the ESRBs suggested age range. It's also about knowing when it serves a story that is supposed to be taken seriously, unlike a game such as Bayonetta 2, which makes no pretense otherwise.

Eh so now Liara's armor is also a problem why? because it shows that she's female? I see no reason why developers should either make every female character either flat chested or placed into Androgynous suits because some people have a problem with sexuality.

But I still hope to see more utilitarian armor in combat situations. The world already asks a lot in the way of suspension of disbelief, and there's just no good reason not to give players the greater sense of immersion that proper combat armor for all characters can provide.

Form-fitting is one thing, the apparently massively effective butt cheek separation technology that puts extreme wedgies on every character is ridiculous. Nobody in their right mind would go into combat with material tucked deeply between their cheeks.
Properly form-fitting under-armor may be snug, but should not be painted on, should not leave any skin exposed, and allow for the male package.
I'm glad we have such an expert on future space faring under armor technology. Surely you should work as a consultant to Bioware's ME team, to make sure they get everything right.

In a game like DA:I I can see it. You wanna be wearing a suit of plate mail armor (if you're a warrior) instead of a chain mail thong going up into your dark spaces. Here, it all comes down to what kind'a peron are they? Or rather, what role do they fit into? Miranda (with her infamous ******, I don't know why they did that to poor Yvonne Strahovski) fits into the role of adept or something which uses her biotics more than she uses her weapons. She would then be more comfortable in her leather armor than she would be in full armor. Same with Jack. Same Samara. Same with Tali.
About the only people that it doesn't make sense on is Kaiden and krogans. Kaiden uses biotics, why isn't he wearing light armor? Krogans use biotics (or rather most of them), why aren't they wearing light armor?
The best that I can say is that I dunno. They're so worried about something killing them that they put on heavy armor or want to beef up their krogranness (manliness) that they put it on. That would be my only guess.

Mass Effect Fields?
Omni-Tech Armor?
Nano Shield Generators?
I don't care for the 'going into battle in a few leather straps while going into outer space' logic of Jack (as much as I like Jack don't get me wrong. ;P ), but I feel that at least some things could be explained otherwise. It's similar to how walking into that acid rain in ME2 without head protection doesn't even lower your shields: It's a bit of a gameplay versus aesthetics issue.
...back to the main point though, I've got nothing against the bodies of the characters themselves (barring the, uh, enhancements, some characters got along the way) but I wouldn't turn away characters having actual armor...could you imagine if Jack had a standard Alliance Trooper combat armor, but it was decked out with spikes, and...uh...random metal bits...and such beautifully painted on phrases as '**** the Police' and various tattoo-esque designs? I'd dig it.
