Calpernia apparently knows how to teleport. Which was not supposed to be possible in Thedas.

Pepole will be mad and say "Hey another choice that didint matter" sadly I dont see this happening :/

The validity of a choice is not determined by its outcome, but by the intent. Regarding Calpernia's possible appearance in the next DA, I would hate to see her in a subordinate role, so I'm against making her a companion.

@Ukki:

What makes you think that?

Well, according to DragonWiki "she will teleport up to a ledge", haven´t played the templar side so don´t know if 'tis true but so it says.

Bah, it will matter in determining her opinion towards the Inquisitor when talking about her past. Fight her- hates the Inq
Let her go- Respects the Inq
Side with mages- No strong feelings

You don't see her body in any possible outcome, so it isn't like bring Lel back from the dead. I want to believe they left her fate ambiguous for a reason.

The wiki says many things. It's also the source of the "the rebel mages end up brainwashed" meme. I'll check this in my ongoing game.

She does use magic to get atop of a ledge if you fight her, but it is probably just a fade step of some kind rather than "teleportation." It isn't like she is the only mage to "teleport" in the game.

She does "teleport" - or at least that what it looked like, so I'm assuming that's why the Wiki said that. But yeah, it could be some kind of fade step, and throughout the game, you do have spellbinders who "teleport" by turning into a murder of crows or something like that.

Yeah, she became well-liked by the writers so its possible she may return. Whether as an antagonist, companion or just a cameo, it'll be nice to see her again. Though, I'd prefer it not be the latter :P

On another note, this is a nice drawing.

You are a horrible person for being that mean to her. Just think about how sad she is going to be. :(

I know ;-; BUT I LIKE TRAGIC/BITTERSWEET ENDINGS. (That's a bad reason and no excuse.) I'll regret my decisions when I finally get there, but that is far away since I just got to Skyhold.

On a uh, lighter note, I'll continue spamming this thread with Pictures of Calpernia™.

Not that it'll mattter that much because she'll be dead

I won't be doing that, btw.. My templar playthroughs are rare enough as it is. I always have to fight the temptation to disown those playthroughs, so if I manage to get to the Arbor Wilds, Calpernia will stay alive. Otherwise I have nothing that emotionally links me to it. If it hasn't become clear until how, I really detest the templars and everything they stand for.

I haven't played the version where you say you won't let her go. Don't you fight and kill her?

You fight her but it goes the same way it goes if you never talk to her. Right at the end she "teleports" up to the top of  the platform and jumps off into the chasm. But you never see her body at the bottom so there is a bit of a theory she survives.

I see. So the writers left a loophole to be able to bring her back. Well, count me disappointed if they won't. I am usually not ok with this kind of artificial convergence, so I only find it justified if she actually will come back in a significant capacity.

Considering they made her "death" so blatantly indefinite and the fact Weekes said she's a writer's pet, I'd be surprised if she doesn't come up again in some way.

How is that being mean? Considering what she has done, not letting her go is the logical thing to do.

Do you really have to ask? She knowingly helped Corypheus campaign of carnage and could only be swayed by being told that Cory didn't care about her. I don't understand why so many people seem to trust Cory though. I mean, he couldn't take a crap without making a speech about his megalomania.

There is only so much you can handwave for last minute redemption.

I just wanted to know if there is something else than helping Corypheus.

And my way of thinking is "If someone can help me reach my goals, I will spare them", with this reasoning I conscripted Florianne into the Inquisition and, with the same reasoning, I let Calpernia go, not because she was redeemed, but because the infight between her and Corypheus would be beneficial to me.

Fair enough.

That said though, by the time you do reveal to Cal that Cory plans to enslave her, the Venatori are already being destroyed by the Inquisition's forces in the Arbor Wilds, so any schism that could of had a wider impact on destroying or splintering Cory's forces is gone already. At best you can have Calpernia give you some extra time to deal with the Well.

Yes, you need the noble perk and spare her, she become more or less loyal.

Oohh, that might be why I haven't seen it. That's one of the last perks I take :)
