From the official strategy guide:
"If you allied with the Templars, you'll encounter a brainwashed Grand Enchanter Fiona."
&
"As the leader of the rebel mages, and brainwashed by the Venatori, Fiona is a formidable threat, capable of casting a variety of offensive and defensive spells."

Still interpretation, still no in-game evidence. I've read too much crap in game guides - *especially* official ones, oddly enough, and most notably those from Prima - to take that at face value. Primary sources, please. Or developer comments.
Please note: I'm not saying it's not plausible, but I check everything coming from you with extra care, and so far: it's not a fact. Also note what I said in my previous post.

Fine, the fact is we know when siding with or even just talking to the Mages that they are all slaves for a decade. So at the very least she supports slavery.

Or she's using them as a means to an end for the greater good and all that jazz

Hence my original point of her being a hypocrite. "Slavery is bad. Once I get strong enough, I'll stop it. I swear."

Actually, that does not follow.
(1) It is temporary
(2) That she doesn't act against it immediately does not mean she supports it.
(3) It was Alexius who made the contract. As I said, it is unlikely she can tell a magister in her organization exactly how to do his job.
As strange as that may sound to you, you can't just change reality with a handwave.

(1)So slavery is fine if it is temporary?
(2)She supports everything else Corypheus does.
(3)She kept the contract going. Alexius is killed if you side with the Templars since he failed Corypheus according to Dorian.

Calpernia will tear Tevinter apart from the inside

What age would you guys give her? I'm unaware if that's been mentioned somewhere in-game or otherwise acknowledged by the writers.
She looks like she's in her early-to-mid 30's to me.
I don't think it's outright stated anywhere, but I imagined Calpernia to be in her mid-to-late twenties. Samson's probably somewhere in his late forties.

I personally find Dorian a little more honest. He admits he's never thought about the plight of slaves before but he rejects things that he personally saw as wrong. I'll have to talk to Calpernia before she convinces me that she's not just another person who took the path to darkness which was paved in good intentions.

The fact that Calpernia is so opposed to slavery and treats slaves (or no more slaves) as live beings, made her great in my book.

I'm sure you meant "she treats slaves as live beings" rather than "slavers", right? ![]()

I really liked Calpernia and I hope she returns for whichever DA takes place in Tevinter, because I feel as though they're gonna pull a Divine situation where we can influence who becomes Archon and I'd much rather have Calpernia on the throne than a weakling like Dorian.

LOL. I don't see Dorian as a weakling, but yes, I agree that Calpernia would likely be a far more competent leader, if her appearance in DAI is any indication. It would need considerable change to place her there, though, because she's not an Altus and can't become a member of the magisterium according to existing rules. Likely, something drastic would need to change before she even gets there, to say nothing of the changes she might want to enact. In any case, getting enough support for her ideas is likely to be the far greater challenge, and there Dorian might be rather useful. I can see them co-operating eventually.

It is not interpretation. The note in the Hissing Wastes if you sided with the Templars says that they finished brainwashing the mages, and Leliana's option during the Investigate Redcliffe Castle mission shows the Venatori performing a brain-washing ritual on the remaining mages. Why is it so difficult to acknowledge that the mages are brainwashed if you side with the templars? Because it doesn't support your viewpoint? By that logic, all red templars are perfectly aware of what the doing and are willingly aiding a darkspawn magister conquer thedas.

I am quite aware
This was, naturally, more about potential - or wishful thinking, if you want - than reality. However, I do get the impression that time is running out for the Imperium, that some things must change or they'll lose the war against the qunari. The magisters care more about their internal rivalries than about winning the war and doing something for their empire, and in addition, Tevinter needs allies, and for that it needs to be someone wanted as an ally. People like Calpernia and Dorian are needed, and Calpernia comes across to me as the better leader. She has the commanding presence and the determination Dorian lacks, for all his extraordinary abilities and good intentions.
Calpernia was the leader of the Venatori. The very people responsible for attempting to (and in some cases suceeding) to assassinate the Empress of Orlais, making a thrall of the King of Nevarra, attempting to assassinate the Monarch of Ferelden and burn down the capital. I doubt many foreign rulers would be eager at the idea of an alliance with an Imperial she rules.
And while I agree with time running out and reform is needed, the type of reform Calpernia wants to implicate and so impatiently, so rapidly such as the removal of slavery would realistically be far more crippling to Tevinter and its economy that Magister Infighting. Tbh I'd only support Calpernia if I wanted to advocate Qunari interests as it stands currently.

You do realize Calpernia is most likely dead right? She says that she'll confront Corypheus and IF she lives, she'll go back to Tevinter. Does Corypheus really seem like the forgiving type for betrayal?

Maybe Ieldra somehow missed those things? He already stated that he simply wanted in-game evidence. He's not ignoring it on purpose.

She may end up as dead as Leliana is
