I actually won a tournament using that stratagem.

same thing its a accepted term like top decking or scooping. And imo graveyard is worse since it implies perm state but some cards bring stuff back from perm statePfft. Discard pile. In Yu-Gi-Oh is called the Graveyard.

But there's STILL the issue of children and the heir. It's somewhat irresponsible for Dorian not to have children as he is th e heir apparent of the House. Frankly, given the attitudes in Thedas and Tevinter specifically, waht exactly is stopping Dorian from having a marriage of convenicence and having a male companion....
Orlais doesn't seem to care (Leliana will actually be introduced in the Winter Ball as the mistress of the Queen of Ferelden if she was in a relationship with the warden and the warden married Alistair.
Yup. For someone who pretty much thinks that sex is just for fun and knows not to hope for more between 2 guys (til he meets the Inquisitor/Iron Bull), it seems silly that he'd abandon his responsibilities just because of his sexuality. I mean, if he knows how things work in Tevinter, he could have easily married the girl, had an heir, and had a sidepiece for when he wanted some fun, as is the norm in Teviniter according to Gaider in this thread (http://forum.bioware.../#entry18594873) and the World of Thedas.
It's also the main reason why I dislike Dorian so much. Just as Josephine says, Dorian doesn't take anything seriously unless it interests him, even if it includes the well-being of his family and their legacy. The Pavus line has gone through generations of breeding to create someone like Dorian who basically leeched wealth, status, education, and generations of magic power from his ancestors due to their hard work and sacrifices, and to spit in the faces of all those members of his house is something I cannot and will not abide. When I was given the option between calling Dorian "brave" or just telling him that he was "trouble" after his inner circle quest, I was furious. I really wish they gave us the option to chastise Dorian at least, because he needs a serious reality check and he needs to learn the meaning of responsibility and appreciation, instead of living life on a whim and running away from everything he thinks is too much of a burden to deal with.
Made this today. The idea came from vaultdwller who posted the screencap poking fun that it looked like a selfie. Template came from stilesofrphs - or at least, it was made by him. So...I put them together and - voila!

The sentiment of "vitae benefaria" is a respectful goodbye. Something along the lines of "go well" or "a good life and a long one."

This is my main problem as well...I'm still unsure as to what exactly the big deal with Dorian's quest is supposed to be....again, the game itself notes that there's nothing wrong with being a sidepiece (ee Vivienne and Leliana) so what exactly was Dorian's excuse?
You don't have same-sex sidepieces in Tevinter (Dorian's romance dialogue), you have same-sex slaves that you can rape (Sexuality in Thedas).

Gaider's quote makes it seem that Tevinters don't mind homosexuality, and may even know people who are gay, so long as they put up a public front and take care of their social responsibilities. Not only that, but it seems as though Dorian regularly had casual sex with men in Tevinter, so I don't think he'd be in any danger of not finding guys that weren't slaves to sleep around with. As long as he made his sexuality hidden from the public sphere, I'm pretty sure Dorian could have forged a lasting relationship with a guy or two based on casual sex, which is what a side piece is.

But you were comparing it to Orlais where people have a romantic relationship with their paramour. Vivienne and Leliana with a King Cousland were not just about casual sex. That's not how it works in Tevinter and Dorian specifically wants a romantic relationship.

The distinction there is huge and it's something people seem to ignore a lot. Dorian wants to have someone he loves and to be loved in return. That's not how things work in Tevinter.

Because a lot of people assume that if a gay person can get their rocks off without being arrested or executed, they've got nothing to complain about.

I never compared it to Orlais. I even said he could have a sidepiece for when he wants to have fun.

I don't think Dorian knew what he wanted. Like he said when you romance him, he didn't really know that love could blossom between 2 guys since that wasn't the norm in Tevinter.
That codex was...sad. On the slaves' behalf anyway. You don't have same-sex sidepieces in Tevinter (Dorian's romance dialogue), you have same-sex slaves that you can rape (Sexuality in Thedas).

His banter with Cole implies differently. ("Glittering to gloss a hidden hurt. Unlearning not to hope for more. Stumbling steps where the wall used to be." "Skin tanned like fine whisky, cheekbones shaded, lips curl when he smiles. He would have said yes." "Wounded but wistful, wishing but wondering, what if he doesn't want me after?") It's not that Dorian never felt romantic attraction or wanted it reciprocated, he didn't think he'd ever find someone willing to be with him. Being in a loveless marriage with casual sex on the side was not a valid option to him.
*barfs*
I do not see what you mean, MaZ.

I'm gonna make a wild guess and say he's a transphobe.
And a childish one at that.

Yes, but how is this any different from any heterosexual marriage among nobles?.He's part of the nobility and a marriage based on love is a rarity...sure, love and respect can be expected to grow but World of Thedas makes quite clear that marraige at the nobility level is first and foremost about alliances.and strengthening your house.

Not having love is one thing. Having a total lack of sexual attraction extending very possibly into outright revulsion is another.

Icky person, plus the horrendous outfit.
Uncouth philistine.
Sure defend revulsion at the sight of a person that let a child die within line of sight and call it some inane phobia.
Your label is incorrect and your assumption childish.
You could have just said that in your earlier post.

I think my earlier post summed up my opinion on my the character.
Should have of used a funny gif. Their far more effective at expressing dislike towards a fictional character.

This right here would have been perfect.
