Does anyone have a link to the David Gaider interview? I didn't realise it had been confirmed that the Architect was a magister.

As far as I was aware he was not. Just the first Darkspawn to 'awaken', to gain a sense of consciousness beyond following the call of the Old Gods.

Nowhere in The Calling or DA: Awakening is it stated, or even implied that he is a Magister.

No see, Corypheus is what implies that the Architect is a magister.

How the similarity between the two fail to make this obvious to some people is...astounding.

Not at all. The point remains that if indeed The Architect IS a Magister it would be a bit of a retcon, and certainly is not yet canon (having not been stated in any tie-in product or game).

They may seem similar, but no part of The Architect's story to date even mentions his being from Tevinter. He is only ever refered to as being a Darkspawn who realise he was not like other Darkspawn, in as much as he was not slave to the calls of the Old Gods and could make other Darkspawn the same.

It has all been kept very vague. I had figured intentionally so.

The only true similarity we know of between Corypheus and The Architect is that they are both intelligent Darkspawn, capable of formulating plans. Corypheus wants to restore Tevinter to and the Old Gods to Glory, The Architect wants to end conflict. In particular by ending Blights, and the Old Gods' control over Darkspawn, and the Taint.

"The only true similarity".
So you're just gonna ignore that they both appear to have their clothes and armors merged with
their bodies. Twisted together with their skin and flesh.

"A retcon". What, bad guys aren't allowed to lie anymore?
Does everything have to be stated without any room for doubt or deceit?
You know, things that cause intrigue.

Cory did not want to restore the old gods to glory, he wanted to become the new god.

The fusing of clothing and skin certainly does not make them unquestionable. We're talking about two characters with utterly different motivations and histories.

Corypheus knows he was a Magister. He recalls trying to enter the Golden City and finding only a blackened shell. He wants to be a God. He wants Glory for Tevinter.

The Architect appears to have no knowledge of a past. He ony knows that he is a Darkspawn. But a that he is different from other Darkspawn, able to talk and think. He never mentions Tevinter, and his goals are seemingly altruistic. Kinda messed up in how he wants to achieve them, but ultimately seeking a peaceful outcome. He wants to end Blights. He has had two seperate schemes to do that. Nothing about his character screams "MAGISTER" in any way.

If the Architect could transfer himself, what if he transferred to one of the Wardens stood right in front of him? Logically, you'd think the Hero of Ferelden, but we play as them in later DLC. Since Anders, Nathaniel and Justice show up in DA2, that would rule them out.

But Oghren, Sigrun and Velanna would be fair game. Or perhaps her sister, Seranni.

Yup, he might have. I think in one of the possible epilogues for velanna, she sees her sister nearby after the battle, she follows her and vanishes!

So i think he might indeed have taken over seranni!

What would he have to do to "scream magister"? We do have that codex entry detailing an old story of a dwarf who saw three similarly described Darkspawn in the Deep Roads that appeared to be losing their memories even as they spoke, so that certainly supports it.

Right, they have to have the same motivations for a connection to exist...

Cory spent a 1000 years sleeping in the wardens prison, he only remembers what happened before that.
The Architect has been aware for a 1000 years, wandering around as a darkspawn. Is it hard to understand that
this has an effect on ones mental state? He lived what 40-50years as a magister, then a 1000years as a darkspawn,
Is it so unbelivable that he might simply have forgotten?

And him lying is just impossible, isn't it? Completely unreasonable to think...
