[Vroom Vroom]

The creator of the Condemned franchise and former founder of Monolith Productions, Jace Hall, has made a post on his Facebook wall asking if the fans think he should hire an Indie development team to make a Condemned 3 (he owns the rights).

 

He has stated that the reason he wants an Indie team to work on it is due to the fact that he is busy, but he wants the Condemned franchise to be able to move forward.

It's been 7 years since the last Condemned game, so I'd certainly be happy if he decides to have it made.

Just as long as he promises to keep the cult and magical haidouken bullocks out of it and focus on the atmosphere and investigation aspect ala Condemned 1... then I'm all in for it.

The cult thing was a pretty big turn off to me as well. I don't really approve of it, but I've just come to accept it.

 

Things might actually be going towards the direction that we want, I remember reading a few years ago that one of the Condemned creators was wanting to erase Condemned 2 from the canon if they ever made a 3rd one. He was wanting to achieve this by making it the result of a really bad hangover (a bad dream) for Ethan Thomas.

Ah, that's cool. Condemned is such a unique gem, it's got the exact things I like about a good horror game and really.. despite the big negatives of Condemned 2, I still wish it was on Steam.

If they do bring it back, I hope that Crime Scene Investigations are a big focus again. 

 

Condemned scared the hell out of me. I'd be up for a third game. I only played a demo of the 2nd one and the hallucinations were a bit too out there for the short time that I saw them.

I nearly messed myself during the Mannequin factory when the lights go out and come back on and Ethan is surrounded by Mannequins. Mannequins, why did it have to be mannequins!?
