It might be an obviously answered question, but where IS the Maker? Cory says the seat is empty.
Is he lying? Or no?

The Golden City has nothing to do with the Maker. That is where Solas imprisoned the Evanuris. When they saw that the Magisters were about to breach their city they cursed it with what would later be called the taint. They would rather lose the city than have it and the knowledge of the Evanuris fall into human hands. The throne belonged to Elgar'nan and it was empty because they abandoned the city. They essentially razed it with a powerful curse that the Evanuris hoped would destroy humankind.

It's fun looking back through this thread now we've had Trespasser.

 

I haven't finished Trespasser yet, but I've spoiled myself pretty well on tumblr, without some of the finer details. With that in mind, considering I don't have every bit of info from Trespasser at the moment, I'm confident my earlier comments in this thread still stand (I'm pretty proud of how I guessed a fair amount of the JoH/TD/T lore just through speculating - I expect quite a few people did - not on this thread but just in general over years of chatting about it all).

 

We clearly still don't have all the information about the creation and/or evolution of life and its guiding hands. I don't ever want to be given all of that info, to be honest. What would be left? 

 

There's still plenty that could be thrown into the mix that could make us rethink everything yet again. For example, who on earth are the Executors? Obviously they could be just some other civilisation that considers itself superior to the ones we already know about, but who are just another culture, nothing that special about them. They clearly have the same physical (and magical) reliance on the fade staying as it is as the rest of the known world, since they talk about the threat being very real to them. BUT they could have been talking about the thread Solas poses, the one we didn't know about when we were first reading that note from them. They might know a great deal more about Solas, the creation of the veil, about magic and creation and godhood and existence itself. Their role might be something we can't even begin to speculate about because we are missing vital pieces of information at the moment. I'm exceedingly interested to find out more about them.

 

Honestly, while it's great fun to speculate, I never want to know if there is a grand creator of all life (in the traditional God sense). What interests me most is looking at how stories and myths are created and passed down through time, shaped by different cultures and by different powers, and how power is reflected in that. I think DA gives us that sort of thing in spades, which is why I love it so much.
