When I have two equally useful weapons on a weapons class. E.g. on a weapon geth trooper carrying a claymore and javelin. Both weapons benefits from targetting VI and I can save my precious shotty amps for later.

Nice, I almost never carry 2 powerful weapons, i should try more things like this !

Charge into/Nova next to a Guardian + Shoot him in the head with my Locust during his stumble animation.

I used it on Valkyrie (the gun) /GPR etc, to kill mooks faster, only on Gold though.

 

Yes, I use it on this build on Gold, which absolutely murders Geth and is pretty good against the other factions too (weakest against Reapers).  It uses Targeting VI and Stabilization mods, which usually don't get used on most builds.

Only on low difficulties, or if I am low on rail amps for the gun I'm using.  They are useless against bosses if I remember correctly.

You can headshot Praetorians, Banshees, Brutes, Primes. etc... not so sure whether attacking Atlas' pilot window count as a headshot through.

Atlas takes extra damage when you blow off their kneepads and crotch plate but I don't think they have a spot that counts as a headshot. I've gotten headshot medals from every other boss unit upon killing them, but I don't think I've ever gotten one from an Atlas.

Exhaust = head of Atlas. I have gotten a headshot medal after killing an Atlas.

I use them on low end snipers and some pistols when I'm out farming challenge points. Can never hoard too many tier 3 weapon amps.

I find them to be one of the better amps, especially when high damage dealt quickly such in as a Plat solo is needed.  For such occasions, it's the only weapon amp I use.  I once let these stack to 255 but subsequently found they were a much better choice than other Weapon amps once I focused on head-shot only play.  Head shots being the most efficient way to take out targets, makes these amps amazing.

Yeah but being a decent human aimbot ain't gonna make targeting VIs anything close to as useful as the right amp... You need a percentage of like, 98%, to do that... And that's not human.

I actually find them useful on plat (sans for the Kishock), since it is mostly armour spam, and Geth Primes are the only boss with whom aiming for the head is worthwhile. (Double/Triple hit> 1.4x headshot multiplier)

 

And since I have a SOP on nuking Primes on site, the VI is only going to see use against early wave mooks.
