That has happened to me as well. I had 0 Krogan war assets and still had a few Krogan on Earth.

If you do sabotage the genophage with Wrex in charge, Primarch Victus will have a comment about Wrex

You could write them off as some of Aria's mercs, but I bet they would still show up even without recruiting Blood Pack.

I'm more pissed that I numerically always have by far more quarian war assets than anything but human, yet I get like 1 scene on a ship. Where the hell are the Marines? Does Tali/Raan make up the entirety of ground forces? Same goes for the geth.

I did a playthrough with 0 Krogan war assets and not helping aria at all. They still show up on Earth. The same Krogan are seen even if the genophage is sabotaged or cured.

I guess we can place it in the same category as the ending slides assuming Liara is your waifu; laziness.

Or maybe there are lots of homeless krogan immigrants on Earth for nebulous reasons (Fishdog Food Shack?). Yeah, let's go with that. Makes more sense than most of the plot, anyway.

How'd you get down to zero? That'd take real work, wouldn't it?

Do Turian platoon mission. Don't do bomb mission, don't do rachni mission, sabotage the cure with Wrex in charge which will lead to him being killed on the Citadel. Of course Eve will be dead. It doesn't matter if Maleon's data is saved or not in ME2

You know what else annoys me? That daft turret bit at the FOB. What was the point of that? It just breaks up the mood.

"I talked to Garrus, let's go find Liara. Oh wait, here's some husks to shoot."

Funny thing about that sequence. Liara opens the conversation with slightly different dialogue based on how many husks you killed. If you failed to stop a good number of them instead of the usual "We were lucky. No fatalities, etc" or whatever the actual wording is, you get her saying that there were quite a few including a number of dead.

This to my knowledge had nothing to do with war assets because I had the highest amount possible.

Emphasis on "exactly"

I don't necessarily disagree, but I am actually a bit uncertain about what specifically it is people don't like about the mission.

My personal opinion:

Good:

- The tone and visuals.

- The bleakness and realism of not being able to win conventionally is so well conveyed.

- The lack of music works in its favor IMO.

- The goodbyes.

- The final struggle resolves the "gameplay theme" much better than any one-on-one boss-fight could ever have.

Bad:

- The triumphant combat theme by Sam Hulick sucks.

- Major Coats.

- Tonal inconsistencies in the radio-chatter.

- Rushed writing here and there and "I was born in London".

- Very small and disconnected payoff for assembling the biggest fleet (the premise of the game)

What I hated about priority earth? rushed, forced and does not have any logic at all. It should have been "Priority: Citadel"

During priority Cerberus base the Illusive man fled to the citadel to try to find a way to control the reapers but it wasn't shown in the game how he "went" or "waltz" right in without triggering a fire-fight. That could have been the best chance for Bioware to make another suicide mission for Shepard and all of his friends attempting to intercept the Citadel and ensure the docking of the crucible safely while you fight countless Reaper forces inside the wards and Pressidiums. Commander Bailey General Oraka and Aria leading the evacuation and offense of the Citadel, while you are followed by the Galactic fleet and forces.

Here's my canon or "how it should have been in Priority: Earth"

I always thought the final mission should've been the citadel. I also think the tagline of ME3 should've been "Save the Galaxy!" as generic as that sounds... it's literally the only game I know where the scale is that big in a Hero's Journey plot.

I think get why the turret was put in between the squadmates. I think it was put in to show that we weren't in a safe location, and were still being attacked. Thus whatever safety we had was not going to last, and we'd have to leave soon. The problem is, the turret scene should've been done in 5 seconds to get the point across. Instead it lasts way longer then it should, so it breaks the pace.

Also, Bioware didn't forget about the Thanix canons. The writers did put in a codex on it. The problem is the "cutscene" guys forgot about it. To the horrible point that in the Omega DLC, a Cruiser ship is shooting fricken machine gun bullets (like WTF!?!?!?).

Nah, I think doing so wouldn't been too much like ME1. The entire main story of ME3 is too much like ME1 already. Besides, I do like going back to earth post invasion. I just wish it was done better.

Thank god I am not the only one who noticed

Furthermore the citadel is the perfect place to combine ME1 and ME2 action for ME3. ME1 fighting in the citadel but this time the Geth is with us, ME2 all of your squadmates and I mean all are with you divided into 3 fire teams. First team fights by yourside, second is to reinforce General Ofaka and bailey, 3rd is to assist Aria. Then when fighting your way to the citadel tower to reach the controls to open the arms, all fire teams re-groups at the entrance to block more incoming reaper forces in a last stand scenario... Then when the arms open and the crucible with hackets fleet + Quarian and Geth escorts attempts to enter... BOOM Harbinger comes into the scene (insert epic last boss fight music here) but NOOOO the citadel moved just to force you to fight on Earth -_-

I'm unsure if I've posted in this thread already, and I'm way too lazy to read all 14 pages to verify if I have... but if I had to wager a guess, I believe my answer would be "All of it."

No Miranda. And the hologram thingy doesn't count.

Really, the entire "message your squad" thing. Earth is where the crucial battle was, where the Citadel was. All races were focusing the majority of their strength on defending Earth. Everybody should have been there.

In terms of gameplay, I rather like Priority Earth.  The game ratchets up the difficulty in a logical way.  Bleak earth landscapes mirror the desperation of the situation. The final wave combat scenario always gets the adrenaline flowing, regardless of how highly leveled a character is. Of the three games, I thought it had the most challenging final sequence, and I was happy they eschewed a traditional final boss fight. Like the OP, I thought the character interactions worked well, though in fairness my favorite characters got to be on the front lines.

The only part I disliked were those 5-10 minutes that most everyone dislikes; I think enough has been said about that.

The most logical plot for the last chapters of the game is not "defend earth just so we can have a 1918 save the earth battle" but rather, defend the citadel and crucible at all cost. But magically TIM single handedly hijacked the crucible and C-sec, Oraka as well as Aria and the civilian defense force/mercs just rolled over and die? Next thing you know the Citadel was moved at FTL speeds to sol or via mass relay without a sweat and the "i was born in london tea party begins"

Well, nothing in the game suggests TIM hijacked anything. We just know he warned the Reapers and fled to the Citadel. Either he just walked onto the Citadel like everyone else, and stayed hidden till the Reapers took over (which is possible since not many even know who he looks like, what his real name is, or anything to identify him. As far as scanners are concerned, he's Jack Harper, and not the Illusive Man), or was arrested, put in a cell, and then was released by the Reapers once they took over. Or maybe he was the one that turned the Catalyst on, if it was in hibernation. But really, we don't know. But nothing says he hijacked the place.

He looked like this... people and C-sec asked for his autograph and allowed him to walk right in. Then the Reapers learned about his intent... the Reapers "gained control of the citadel" so they moved it closer to Earth so that everyone can celebrate his handsomeness and everyone had a disco... when Shepard arrive via BEAM RAY in the citadel everyone was dancing with Nyan cat and unicorns came to the scene, then Shepard and Anderson along with TIM went for a walk in the park with biscuits and Tea

There's a point. What happens to Aria, the Council, Aethyta (I know she's gone from the cafe after the Cerberus attack but we're never told she left the citadel) and every other named character on the citadel? We're never told.

You forget, "We" know what he looks like because we seen him in person, which he allowed. In lore, many don't know who he is. The Illusive Man doesn't show his face to many. And that picture you have the Alliance and Council does not to our knowledge. The only real description Shepard could give is "Dude smokes, wears a suit, and had blue synthetic eyes". Put on some sunglasses, and now he's just dude with suit and cigarette. And cops aren't going arrest people because they wear a suit, and smoke.

If so, we probably wouldn't known he was Jack Harper a long time ago. But the galaxy just knows him as the Illusive Man, the same way the Galaxy doesn't know the Shadow Broker is Liara, or was once a space troll.

I don't know still doesn't add up. Shepard attacks Cerberus base > TIM waltz right into the citadel because everyone is stupid to see his implants nor scan him while TALI ZORAH SPENDS 3 FREAKING HOURS BEING QUESTIONED outside the Citadel > Reaper gained info on his intent > Move Citadel to Sol with immense speed I have no idea how or if it even fits in a mass relay > Everyone in the Citadel vanishes> then I was born in london... your previous squadmates are just holograms. But I guess you're right there is nothing we can do now... no matter what I try I can't change anything... so yeah...
