Because most of the time those sentences are followed by things that essentially boil down to 'stop being so queer.' People don't accuse Sera's critics of being homophobic because they generally don't use those sort of justifications for their dislike.

Oh Ik, I get It.
But you must also get it stinks feeling hesitant to share my opinion about Krem being dull and cliche ( like I did in the OP) because people just like to respond with " you're just anti-LGBT"

I get the justification, but it doesn't make it really any better or less annoying.

Assumptions are still assumptions.

I like Krem quite a bit and I wouldn't call him one of the worst characters (that for me is saved for Bianca with her copy and paste design from a random dwarf in haven) but I can very much see how others can find him dull.

You mean Beta Bianca. Bianca is the crossbow. That tool, Beta Bianca is the one that made Varric her booty call on the side.

You rang?

creepy-zach-galifianakis-flirting-beard-

If you really equate "I don't like Dorian" to something someone says just before saying "stop being so queer" in so many words, you have some issues tbh.

There's no way in hell someone could connect those two, unless you assume anyone who dislikes Dorian (how the hell do you not like him tho) is a gay hater.

I feel like I should recognize that Galifianakis gif from somewhere but I'm drawing a blank.  Damnit, my cred, my cred!

Normally I'd agree with your second bit there, but on these forums, people will often use things like "I don't like Dorian because blah blah" to mask the hate, because anything more blatant would get them shut down quick by the mods.  So eventually you start getting twitchy about anything that even looks like that.  It isn't necessarily right, but it doesn't mean you've got issues, either.

Haha trying to condense all of that into a sentence or two.. I could see the difficultly in that.

Oh of course, yeah i completely agree with you.

Okay so this is what I meant. So there have been downright mean and hateful people on BSN towards the LGBT community, I haven't seen it personally, but I know it's there through what other people tell me. My issue was I started this thread because I thought Krem was a cliche and boring character with clunky dialogue that felt out of place and weird. This is obviously just my opinion. Then a few people started with the anti-LGBT remarks., despite me caring less about the gender identity of Krem. Then Dave explained that BSN has been bad with all the anti- LGBT as of late, and people just were hypersensitive to the topic probably and that's why they threw those comments my way. All of this leading to me to say, my intentions weren't malicious, but even if they were, why respond with more hate?

This is a two part answer, I think.  The hypersensitivity is part of it, and also a lack of context.  People that haven't really talked to you here before are going to see the same things they've seen said by haters to mask their malice and their hate, and they don't know enough about you to know you don't mean it that way.  I kind of rolled my eyes when I saw the title of this thread for the same reason.  Then i came in and read and saw that no, I was very wrong, you were actually making legitimate criticisms without any sort of masked hate, and being pretty respectful and civil the whole time.

As far as why respond to hate with more hate, my reply to that is why bring the hate here at all?  Everyone's entitled to feel the way they feel, but if you are going to hate on someone in public, you need to accept that no one is obligated to educate you or ignore you or turn the other cheek.  It's why I responded very differently to this thread, where people are disagreeing but mostly being respectful and civil about it, than I have to various troll threads where people were just being hateful little asshats.

There's enough assumptions like that to go around. Only way to meet common ground is to leave those at the door. If people on both sides see that, we can stop this silly excuse game we're playing now for why someone made this or that assumption on either side, which just makes the discussion go downhill.

Accept that everyone in the thread made false assumptions based on outside influences like I mentioned earlier, then move on to real discussion.

A suggestion.

Meh I tried to find english equilevant for this one fitting idiom but there isn't good one so I'll just translate it: "The forest answers same way that it's being yelled at."

Meaning that people will respond in similar tone to things that is being said to them or they assume someone is saying to them, in this case to hate with angriness etc. Of cource it won't always be like this though, sometimes you get answered by angriness to politiness or other way around but most often same tone is excepted in answers.

Part 1- yeah that makes sense. I also wondered if the tittle was going to do that. I thought it was just a funny play on words type thing.... Then I realized some might equate the title to the part where Krem gets killed or "fried" if you please by venatori. Because doughnuts are fried and so was Krem? I don't get it, but someone pointed it out.

2- I agree again. But like Mr.King said, " Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that" . Yes though I could see how some would take this as a troll thread at first. But there is never a need for hate, even if you feel you may be the subject of it yourself.

I was unaware we were talking about just this singular thread.  What I was responding to seemed to be a more general blanket statement, which is what I was disagreeing with.  If I misinterpreted that, I'm sorry.  I agree that in this specific thread, the assumptions were largely unfounded.

1.  That reaction probably has a lot to do with the hypersensitivity.

2.  Dr. King was a great man.  Unfortunately, I'm not so much a great man as I am just kind of an *******, but I try to be generally fair-minded about it.  I can get along with anyone assuming they treat others with at least the bare minimum of human decency and respect.  If they don't, well, Panda's idiom is about right.

When I think of mister king I always go back to the man wrongfully imprisoned and convicted of his murder.

Ballistic analysis was **** back then and a man died in prison because of it.

It's a sad thing.

How is that relevant to this thread? Don't prove the point Warder. This is about how boring Krem is, not what you did with the Chargers.

I think this is pretty telling.  Krem's "LGBT" content clocks in at about 3 minutes.  But it felt like more to some people.  It's why I will never understand people (not the person who I'm replying to, per se) who claim that the LGBT content in DA: I is overwhelming.  Outside of romance content (which, if you are claiming that there's too much LGBT content, you probably aren't doing a s/s romance), there's about 3 minutes of dialogue with Krem; about 5 minutes of dialogue with Dorian; a handful of side conversations about Celene and Briala; and a few extremely minor NPCs that you can overhear.  It's, literally, about 10 minutes worth of LGBT content in a game that has 6000+ minutes of content.  But, to some people, they still claim that it's too much.  It's perception; not reality.

I feel theres to much focus on romance content already regardless of whether its straight or LGBT, but as to LGBT content in general no I don't have a problem it or find it to much, just the way they went about it in regards to Dorian and Krems as to use it as an exscuse to further rub in our faces what evil bastards the Tevinters are again.. Nothing I find more tiresome then reducing political enemies into moustashe twirling villains, it's a joke.
So when I had to hear a 4 minute long story about blah blah blah Tevinter is evil blah blah blah, ofc I didn't want to hear it, 4 minutes was long enough and it felt like hours were passing me by.
