I used a summon mod in DA2 to have two handed Cassandra as an additional companion instead of the mabari. She was so overpowered and aggressive I never had time to reach baddies.

Honestly, I don't think a fight would happen. Both warriors are quite lawful and would require a solid reason to fight each other. Provided a solid reason, the wrongful character would probably realize the error of her ways and submit to justice.

No, he fought. He came back with Wynne, who also fought.
I know that Wynne fhought, but she came back after Uldred. In fact he tried to convince the circle to support Loghain until Wynne returned from Ostagar and told the other mages that Loghain retreated from the battle which in turn led to the gathering and Uldreds demon summoning. At least it is like that in the german version of the game.

it's more like a "what if" situation 
i think it stemmed from varric's banter with blackwall, where i believe blackwall mentioned aveline and varric said that she was stronger than him.
i do really love aveline though, she's like the big sister of hawke's merry band of misfits.
i'm still rather disappointed that we don't get to actually see rhys or evangeline in DAI, but i'm happy we got cole. judging by how the other characters (fiona, celene, gaspard, briala, michel etc) were written into the game though, part of me is glad that we DON'T see rhys or evangeline....
