I'm having problems meeting up with my companions in the Citadel DLC. I got emails from Liara (my LI), Garrus, James, EDI, and Javik. So I met the five of them. Additionally I encountered Zaeed and Kasumi. But I haven't gotten any more emails, and I can't seem to find any more of my companions in the strip. I'm about to start priority Thessia in the main storyline, and I haven't thrown the party yet. I heard you can meet Joker and Wrex at the bar, but I can't find them there. What do I have to do to trigger the next batch of emails?

You can't get anything from current or former (i.e. ME2) crew members until it is guaranteed they will survive. So, you cannot meet with Miranda until after Sanctuary is done. You cannot meet with Samara until after the Monastery is done. You can't meet with Jacob until ex-Cerberus Scientists is done. You can't meet with Grunt until the Rachni mission is done. Etc.
Also, depending on when you do the main mission, meet-ups may take a while to flow in. They seem to be spaced out some, although I did watch one playthrough where the person saved almost all the meet ups until just before Cronos. In that case, it turned out that just entering and exiting the apartment was enough to trigger a new set of meet ups.
On the whole, I wouldn't worry about it. Just run a mission, come back to the Citadel, and see who's there. Then go run another mission and repeat.

Yeah took me a couple of goes to realise that when I first got the DLC but you're right

Let me add one more prerequisite: to get the Jack meet ups you will need to do at least one match in the Armax Arena.

If you don't talk with Samara on the Citadel after the Monestary mission, she will not have a meet up
If you don't see Jack in purgatory after Grissom, she will not have a meet up
If you do not vist Thane in the hospital after the coup, there will no memorial scene with his son
If you do not talk with Jacob in the hospital after helping the Cerberus scientists, he will not have a meet up
Kasumi, Zaeed and Grunt will have a meet up if their related mission is completed
