I can see the little tents off in the distance outside Skyhold, so I get that's supposed to be part of the massive army we amass standing vigil. And yes, the portcullis is closed so no randoms are going to wander in from outside, but Skyhold still strikes me as really open, too open (aside from the holes in the walls). I mean, c'mon, the main hall is filled with nameless Orleasians wearing masks  :bandit: .

Perhaps we can have an option as to whether we want random nobles and tables of food decorating the hall or soldiers?

I know it's purely aesthetic, but you only ever get two guys standing behind the throne and that's only when you have a judgement waiting. I actually prolong the judgements just to make the main hall look legit and not like anyone can assassinate the quiz when their unarmored back is turned. At least give me one dude like old Otis the security guard to stand outside of the Inquisitor's door.

You are right - just like a Shepard we need guards to keep the throne room safe. They could also be used to hide loading screens by playing a much more annoying and much longer animation:

So many places could use some guards .

Skyhold is really filled with NPc that are just decoration . NPc stuffed near the Gate . NPc sitting in your gardens . NPC inside your skyhold and on every Level .

I liked how Blackwall and many claim skyhold would sustain a better fight then Haven . Yet it is never attacked . The upgrade do Nothing . And many area stay unfinished . I know we cant have a new castle like , but there are some place that should be patched .

I must admit that I found it odd that there wasn't a single guard on duty outside the doors to the Inquisitors quarters - although maybe Cullen just decided that since I never used them, there was no point! LOL

I'm suprised people can get into skyhold seeing as the front gateway has a large drop underneath it to the ground.

Yeeeeah maybe Blackwall didn't notice that, but an entire wall is almost broken, and it is near the stable in which he and Master Dennet hang out.

Yeah, I think it's the angle. I found this SC and it doesn't look that steep. Anyone can make it 'round the back or the side and then they can climb inside their choice of gaping hole.

And what's funny is that there are multiple security breaches with spies and assassins infiltrating the staff, and neither Cullen nor Leliana do anything about upping the security. The quiz is legit running around in their jammies with no weapons and no guards.

That scares me more, tbh. No mabari but we have guard birds. They can squawk the alarm if anyone comes to smother you in your sleep. Lovely.

Can't get all those horses up though.

The battlements are full of guards though, so any obvious attackers would be spotted miles away. And I'd expect any nobles and other people that come in are thoroughly vetted by Josie and Leliana.

I do wish we could stop running around in pajamas though.

Yes, I agree, but I'm talking covert infiltration. There was already a major goof when it came to vetting you know who, and an assassin snuck in to kill the ambassador. Trust Leliana?

So she's not perfect. Few people are. Besides, the ambassador lived, did she not? And that was an assassin of the top rated assassins guild in Orlais - he may have gotten into Skyhold but his mission did not succeed. And we have no idea how many she did catch, because - surprise - you never see those. As for you know who, if that is who I think it is - he really did exist, and they had no reason to believe otherwise. Also, he wasn't exactly a malicious presence - I'm sure that if he had started acting suspicious she would have been onto him in a flash. I'd still trust her.

If you've got the DA:I art book, it would appear that they did conceptualise the idea that you could customize Skyhold based on your choice of adviser. With a militaristic, secretive, or diplomatic style, including variations of war table and other furniture/bric-a-brac. But it would appear the idea was never fully fleshed out or made it past the concept stage.

It's a shame, I would have loved to decide if I could have more guards or cloaked spies patrolling around rather than the random dignitaries loitering around and making the hall look untidy. :P

I do like the cultural décor options that we have, but they only really change the carpets, banners and statuary in the hall.

Like the lack of brothels or that DA:I isn't Origins for billionth time? If you want to whinge about those things or the bugs and PC problems, there are a wealth of threads in which you can do so. Personally, I don't care about the warden, my bugs aren't major...well, one is but you win some, you lose some, and I like the game.

I'm half joking with this thread, but I would like way more customization options for Skyhold. I think that's important. If you don't, cool story, check out another thread.

It's so that they don't have to render too many characters and place them in the later game
