You have to level your prestige while you promote the Shadow, and dance on one leg while you make the chest purchase to get purples.
Also:

Lots of those guys.
ok - I can understand that the OP wants better things.
But what would happen if he had received better things?
The game would lose much of its purpose because chances then are 0.000001% he'd get something BETTER
after that.
In other words:
not the small RNG odds are the enemy:
The loot system as a whole is crap. Because it does not offer progression.

There is absolutely no evidence that Prestige affects anything regarding chests. If you think you have some evidence, please provide it along with your source data.
Occam's Razor suggests that 'RNG being RNG' is the only explanation we need for why people get wildly different results from their chest opening.
Also keep in mind that even if you personally have opened a thousand chests, that's still a tiny number compared to the (likely) millions that are being opened by everyone put together.
Enough chests would probably be 50,000. The only way to fight rng is with a large N sample. I wish you luck on your journey.
Just kidding, I would hope it's less than that.
why do you say that?
Cause they are more likely not to be fake......what were we talking about again?

Looks like a DAMP group when a Druffalo comes around the corner.
Pyre of the forgotten isnt even any good.

You have 8 in a group? And they're goats? Reported.

It's a beta test of the new class, "Non-commander Shepard"
The move in question is "Feinting goats" - You character summons 8 goat companions that panic your enemy. Upon being attacked however, all 8 goats immediately faint.
OP, try changing it up. I have received some great uniques from medium chests as well as large chests. Why? RNG.
Also, change your thinking to "RNG is good to me". Give it a try. Repeat it in your mind over and over to overwrite the old "RNG hates me" (or whatever) programming. Funny thing is some will scoff at this, but I can attest from experience the power of our minds and what we create (those who are asleep may not understand this self awareness stuff). Tip: Ironically "reality" is not real, we just think it is, and so believe+create accordingly. Do enough research and self experience. You will make a believer out of yourself.

Are you Tony Robbins IRL?! ![]()
I hate RNG, and it hates me more.
So basically your making stuff up...gotcha
Do you even know what he's talking about?

LOL no. just someone who's life circumstances had me questioning a lot of things, and through those questions, understandings that = *casts mind blast*
Prestige affecting RNG?
If anything, higher Prestige has decreased my Unique Item drops.
I had my best drops between Day One to 200-ish Prestige.
Pyre of the forgotten isnt even any good.
Doesn't the pyre have the best damage?
Do you even know what he's talking about?

I agree with this, but would add a stipulation that there seems to be an inhibitor preventing new players from instantly receiving good (defined as high level) weapons. There is a stark difference between chests on my PS4 account (500? hours played, 358 prestige) and my Xbone account (10 hours played, 49 prestige). I dont know what the inhibitor is tied to, but im almost certain there is one.
I opened less than 1000 and got everything (dual red birth daggers, 2x suberb hok ring, best shields, best bows best staffs, sul blade) except best 1 handed.

I'm going to be stupid and counter an anecdote with an anecdote, but I received a level 23 weapon in the very first Large chest I ever opened. (Granted it was a Common, but the Firm Winged Longbow is still a HUGE damage improvement over the starting bow.)
In order to test this 'inhibitor' hypothesis we'd need, like, 100,000 newbies to track every chest they open. And that's never going to happen. ![]()

Well, there goes my theory. Unlucky on Xbone then, I am. 15,000-20,000 gold and the highest level I received is a level 15 staff. Never had such a dry streak on PS4. Oh well, curses to RNG.
I held my breath as a chest was opening and got the Sul Blade.
So now I do it every time. I'm pretty sure it works.
Pretty sure
