You can play Legion, Templar, Katari, or Templar with a purple weapon, that's pretty good.

No purple HOK/Attack ring implies you have some decent blue ones, so stop whining.

 

Remember to check your blues, there are a lot of super strong blue weapons that are better then some of the top purples.  I didn't notice I had fury of the veil for at least a week.

Although I really like to have caliban or purple HOK rings to boost survivability on my Templar a little bit more (currently running her with one purple crit chance ring and one blue HOK ring), but I'll just have to get better with her on Perilous.

 

Or you know what else you can do, getting a lot of promotions to counter lack of gear.

Blue HoK is a hell of a lot better than what a lot of people have. RNG has smiled upon you.

I think this was mentioned before, but the only thing you can do to control RNG is to craft the armors.

 

Without the armors, the loot pool is reduced by almost 20%.

 

I also heard the stuff about medium chests and prestige before in other threads, which make it a little more believable... you never know if they have a bug in their code that gives medium chests higher chances.

The limit is 350/355.  More than enough for all armor and useful items.  Unless you are trying to save every unique and all exact copies of it, there shouldnt be any inventory concerns.

Multiple times? That's a lot. I can't compete with that...

 

What I can't compete with is the "extracted" part. What is being extracted, the commanders' souls? How many times do I have to promote my characters before I become Dragonborn?

Good for you. My last perilous pug:

 

Lobby looks fine, me as templar, two keepers and an archer. One of the keepers sets lobby to private. Probably some friends are there so they can rejoin. Door opens, archer is disconnected, a necro joins instead right away. We then more or less uneventfully proceed to room 4 where necro dies and then quits/disconnects. No problem, we still have two keepers. One of them does not seem to have barrier though they work together. Eventually we get to stage 5 and another archer joins, level 12 or something like that. Wave 5 goes really well, everything is dead apart from two brutes and a couple of archers. Then, host disconnects or quits (he was dead 2 or 3 times caught without barrier). Host migrates to another keeper who promptly quits (what was the point of having private lobby then?). Me and the archer-host stand in front of the door to stage 5 for about 3 minutes but nobody joins as the lobby is private. So, we come in and it goes pretty well in the beginning but then we get overwhelmed. Final screen does not load, - Failed to receive data from Dragon Age server. And this was not a bad run, actually quite good. At least I got the gold and, surprisingly, experience.

I tend to run Perilous as my Keeper and stick to Barriering everyone and helping out with DPS.  Barrierless Keepers are near-useless Keepers imo, so I always do with a Barrier build.

 

Haven't tried playing as my Legionnaire or my Assassin on Perilous yet, but that's mostly because I have little faith in pugs.  May give it a shot sometime, though...

Unlock as many armor sets as you can through manual crafting then buy chests. Don't ask why, just do it.

OP, try changing it up.  I have received some great uniques from medium chests as well as large chests.  Why? RNG. 

 

Also, change your thinking to "RNG is good to me".  Give it a try.  Repeat it in your mind over and over to overwrite the old "RNG hates me" (or whatever) programming.  Funny thing is some will scoff at this, but I can attest from experience the power of our minds and what we create (those who are asleep may not understand this self awareness stuff).  Tip: Ironically "reality" is not real, we just think it is, and so believe+create accordingly.  Do enough research and self experience.  You will make a believer out of yourself.

That's total bullcrap! Everybody knows the only way to increase drop chance with the RNG is to offer PuGs as sacrifice to the DC.

Or just remain indifferent.  If you remain indifferent and just keep buying chests, you'll eventually get the uniques you want.  Got top-tier unique daggers, bow, staff, shield, belts, necklaces, and a ring with only 2 promotions and my ranking at 285.  Hell, my current maul completely out-classes the Boon of the Spoon and I got that about a week after launch.
