I think it would be really nice if we could compare the weapons/armor we're crafting before we finish the item itself.

I break out in a cold sweat every time I have to craft something. Saving is therefore as you say, a necessity.

I managed to avoid that, but I did have to take time to work out who I was crafting for and then examine their equipment to make sure that what I was crafting actually was better.
