I play 90% gold games, and my policy is to always start votekick on players with no gear on.  I write this because I'm tired of people calling me an ahole for doing it!!  Here's my reasoning : To me, its a harbinger of things to come, and they are :

1. the game will be longer than the average 20 mins it takes. (the #1 unnecessary pet peeve of them all)

2. this player is an obvious credit leecher (he's not even trying to hide it)

3. this player will likely not use medi-gel (hoarding consumables)

4. this player will likely quit because they have nothing vested in the game.

5. if there are enough of them, i might end up solo'n the match, and or running around trying to revive them. (extension of #1)

6. these players are revealing themselves as the guy\girl in society that nobody likes.

IMO, there is no reason to NOT have gear on.  Level 1 gear is better than NO gear.  And I know some of you will say "well what if they're noobs"... then they should be paying their dues in silver\bronze like we all once did!  crazy idea right? :o

I do not mind carrying at all- I just dislike it when people think they pulled one over on me.

A story related to this- I was playing a game once with some guy who had no equipment on.  During the game, he kept dying over and over, and I noticed that he wasnt using his gel.  This was how the conversation went.

Me: Why aren't you using medi-gel?

Guy: Because I'm out of gel.

Me: It's wave 1.

Guy: No I mean I don't have any gel.

Me: (pause) You went into this game with no gel?

Guy: Yeah.

Me: Why not just buy it like everyone else?

Guy: (pause) (pause) (pause) Because **** you thats why.

Me: Trust me on this... everyone at your job hates you.

Nowadays I only kick if I'm being annoyed by the pug and there's a strong reason why he should be the one leaving the lobby and not me.

But I won't judge you if you kick someone without gear on, it used to annoy me too.

I don't kick. I really don't care at this point, but I grant you that it can be obnoxious playing with someone that I probably should have kicked. I get agitated when I get banshee'd during a wave or whatever, then two more go down, and I have to sit there for minutes watching that dude with an Avenger chip away at the last brute. And I'm just like "  dude, no shame in using a rocket. I still have plenty if we need a few in wave 10." Or even worse, just the other day I played a game where, frankly, the other three never would have made it passed wave 3 without me. And here we are in wave 10 trying to secure 4 points, and none of them want to get the device. And I'm there like, "  dudes, I'm obviously most qualified to keep fighting. Do you really want me to stop killing things for ten whole seconds? You'd all probably get overrun."

I apoligise for that.  Me and my two buddies felt since you were doing so well, we didn't have to put in minimal effort.  I was eating a hot dog throughout the whole game and was using 1 foot to move the mouse.  Please forgive me, Mr Freecredits kind sir.

I'll only kick for two reasons.

1 - Taking way too long to ready up, especially if they are host

2 - If the other 2 players have already placed kick votes for understandable reasons (lvl, consumables, etc...)

Other than that, I don't prejudge and I'll play with practically anyone. If it goes south, I'll just quit the lobby and move on.

I can't tell if you're a passive aggressive troll, or just weird.  Probably a bit from each column.

Hey man, if you like putting cooked weenies down one end while husks put their weenies up the other end, that's your prerogative. Just please leave me out of your gangbang.

Originally I didn't even think of that, but now that you brought it up I can't stop thinking about.  Where you from?

California. I'm not going to get any more specific for fear of your bringing your gangbang to my home.

Everything else is fine to me except for number 1. 20 minutes is considered fast i.e. having a whole competent team. Even with fully equipped decent(ish) randoms, my games tend to average around 22 mins. Anything above 25 minutes is long for me though. I generally don't kick if someone is making a conscious effort at the game.

I just hate waiting if I can't see any good reason for it. Mainly talking about hosts that are just sat there, nothing equipped, have a mic but not saying why the wait and others in the lobby have stopped the countdown cuz they think maybe he/she is actually doing something.
Generally find a kick vote wakes them up, and if not ill just leave the lobby.

Would a bus instead suffice?

Agreed.  Your reasons #1 and #6 don't bother me too much, but for the others absolutely.  I do wait until they ready up before placing the vote, in case they're just a bit slow or momentarily distracted by something IRL.

If two or more people ready up without any gear/consumables, I just leave to find a new lobby.

Sometimes it takes 5-10 minutes to find a good lobby, but that's better than spending 20+ minutes on a fail mission carrying leechers.

I only kick when 1.)Taking forever to ready up 2.)Someone blatantly shows they're there only to reach in the previous game and I liked the rest of the team. Poor play can be annoying but given the number of times I know I've scrubbed it up for the team, I'll overlook it as long as there's effort.

What gets me is the reasons for the kicks nowdays. For instance I got kicked out of a gold lobby last night because "we aren't carrying an xp leech get to level 20 on bronze nube" never mind the adept I was playing was level 18 and I had lv 3 consumables attached...nope just clearly a leech here. The other one I love is the hey this guy has a lot of CPs and high N7 he must be a glitcher; right after the first kick.

I understand the leeching aspect and while correlation does not imply causation, the trend of no gear or consumables equaling dead weight does apply more often than not. Kick or don't it's your prerogative. If I'm in a lobby with you and I don't think the kick is reasonable I just won't follow suit and leave myself

Then those people are just dumb.  Once you see the level 4 ammo and level 3 everything else, you know ihe\she can carry their own weight.

Then the three seconds of lag kicks in and they get kicked after the match anyway.
