For an expirienced player, 60k on silver is pathetic. I'm done arguing with you, freeloader.

You really don't understand how averages work, do you?

Well, I do understand that for an expirienced player an average of 60k is pathetic even on silver. I do understand that an almost 2000 hrs player is mostly a silver player if he has completed map mastery only two times. :P

I only use equipment when I have a specific reason to, such as using cryo ammo with my human soldier.  Otherwise I don't bother, because, once again, why should I?

Because-

Pros

-All equipment improves something, at least slightly

- Shows the host/other players in the lobby you care and probably aren't going to be leaving/bleeding out/etc

Cons

-nothing

which is why I just don't understand it, even if I don't care enough to kick on this basis- there's simply no reason not to, and it makes you do at least a little more damage, run at least a little faster, little more shields etc. I happen to like more damage, running faster and so on, and the "no cons" part makes it sort of a no-brainer.

Like I said, you don't get how averages work.  And as for the map mastery, I only play the maps I like.  They stay at 100% completion indefinitely, and I avoid the ones I dislike and they stay incomplete.

So you're still looking for excuses. It's you who can't figure out that an average score of 60 k would be poor for an expirienced player even if it's scored solely on silver. Now that your throwing in gold waves it's even worse. Made my day.

Returned to BSN to see if it's still classy. Not disappointed B)

Makes sense to me, don't see why the rest of you have so much trouble understanding the averages thing. 1000 hours of 55k silver games and 1000 hours of 65k silver games averages 2000 hours of 60k silver games, seems simple enough.

There are far too many variables in the game for a flat average to mean anything.  If you understood averages even a little, you'd realize that.

My policy is entirely abritrary votekicks.

I have a d20, and whenever I score a critical, a pug may die.

You know the whole thread concerns gold pugs specifically, not silver.

I'd agree that vote kicking people on silver for not using consumables is a bit to extreme (I'd never do it myself), but I will on gold and platinum. Sure wave clutching is pretty much a face roll on gold, but I just don't want people leeching off other people that actually put in a minimum effort (it's a co-op game after all)

From your N7HQ, Spectre Mastery, your average score is less than 60k per game (5647900 pts / 965 waves). Stop spreading lies.

This is perhaps the first "wow" I've ever said in all of my tenure in BSN, hahaha.

Anyways, yea, I don't see why someone wouldn't take, like, half a minute, at most, to equip stuff, especially if they have them by the hundreds. Sure, you may be the *best player in the world* who can solo Platinum with a level 1 character and an Avenger, but that doesn't mean you're not a cheapskate and, basically, an arsehole, by not respecting other people who bother to equip stuff from their inventory.

There's not a single kit that's not improved by throwing on some kind of ammo; Fire Explosions in and of themselves are a specific enough reason - and most kits in the game have some kind of detonator. Otherwise Warp ammo on Biotics and so on... it's not really a question of why should I? more like why shouldn't I?

Hell, if ever decided to play bronze for some reason I'd still probably throw on Incendiary I if nothing else.

Then again - this argument also has merit :)

Usually only kick if trying to make room for a friend or 2

Otherwise i will just leave & start a new lobby or search for another host if ppl go in without equipment, die all the time & instantly ready up again without equipment, when back in the lobby.

I will also just leave if I get in a lobby/game with somebody that turns out to b missile glitching or rubberbanding through the game

Edit: Yes! still meet ppl in PUGs rubberbanding lol

Nowadays I only kick if I'm being annoyed by the pug and there's a strong reason why he should be the one leaving the lobby and not me.

But I won't judge you if you kick someone without gear on, it used to annoy me too.

lulz you left my lobby and rejoined it several times earlier this week. It was on reactor hazard, you got rekt on wave 1 then you left. You then rejoined 3 more times. I guess maybe you didn't want to play with Mindcrime and myself. Hi buddy.

before platinum came out i was the same and didnt want to "waste" my equipment even though i had no better use for it and i still did well (pssst we all do  ;) )

nobody needs equipment but i can honestly say that using lvl 4 stuff ups my game by like 50% and i am a pretty competent player.

in other words if i have someone in my lobby who refuses to use equipment it seems to me like this person either doesnt know what difference lvl 4 equipment makes and therefore has no idea what he/she is missing out on or just doesnt give a damn. both are reason enough to get rid of such a person

as i stated above i was just like that and therefore think i am allowed to judge people on this kind of behaviour.

not trying to tell people how to play their game but dont freak out if someone wants to get rid of you for not using equipment

Well, look, people can play the game however they want, and if that means not using equipment then so be it. I most likely wouldn't stay in the lobby because I tend to panic under the pressure of clutching, and with only the info gleaned from the load out I need to decide if it's worth the risk (unless they have a mic). I would wonder if one bothers putting mods on one's weapons why the same person wouldn't also slap some modest equipment on, but whatever. Maybe it's the thrill of the challenge.

But there's a difference between being "just fine" and being an even more valuable asset to the team. Asari Huntress does "just fine" without equipment. But with Warp Ammo and a Power Amplifier she kills things even faster, thus making less enemies that may sync-kill or take a potshot at a team member.

People who kick have no confidence in their ability to clutch and are probably playing a difficulty they aren't completely ready for.  Once my manifest and skill improved I stopped kicking.  Only exception is platinum even then if I have 1 friend with me I'll let them play.  These days just having a full lobby is a blessing.

I used to have confidence in my inability to clutch.

Then I decided to git gud

Agreed OP.

Yes, I could carry the match, but why should I?

I'll also add people with kits that have the following powers/weapons:

- Flamer

- Snap Freeze

- Recon Mine

- Venom

I guess I just don't get this 'sign of good faith' mentality people on here evidently have.  I don't need the equipment, but I should just equip it anyway, because...reasons?

I'll only kick for two reasons.

1 - Taking way too long to ready up, especially if they are host

2 - If the other 2 players have already placed kick votes for understandable reasons (lvl, consumables, etc...)

Other than that, I don't prejudge and I'll play with practically anyone. If it goes south, I'll just quit the lobby and move on.

This is my basic policy too.  I'm not usually one to start the vote kick, but I'll gladly finish it if it's deserved.

The last person I voted to kick was running a Locust IV with magazine and scope mods and no gear or consumables, on Gold.
