I agree with you in principle. In practice I am not the host so I do not initiate kicks on gold. It is a pug lottery: like it or leave it. Platinum is different, we need every advantage to make a good time so I initiate a kick vote in the very second someone readies up without equipment.

Eh, do whatever you want if it's your lobby. Personally I started out with the policy of no equipment, no game but at the end I was like **** it. I would spend more time kicking than playing if I stayed with that policy, so I just would carry and not worry about what others did.

Your kicking policy is shamefully conservative, OP.

At the very least you should kick everyone who enters your lobby.

I play 90% gold games, and my policy is to always start votekick on players with no gear on.  I write this because I'm tired of people calling me an ahole for doing it!!  Here's my reasoning : To me, its a harbinger of things to come, and they are :

1. the game will be longer than the average 20 mins it takes. (the #1 unnecessary pet peeve of them all)

2. this player is an obvious credit leecher (he's not even trying to hide it)

3. this player will likely not use medi-gel (hoarding consumables)

4. this player will likely quit because they have nothing vested in the game.

5. if there are enough of them, i might end up solo'n the match, and or running around trying to revive them. (extension of #1)

6. these players are revealing themselves as the guy\girl in society that nobody likes.

1) Back when I was pugging with weaker weapons and consumables, pug matches that lasted 30min were the most fun. Any less or more usually was less or not at all fun.

2) I can never know for sure if someone is a credit leecher until I've seen him play.

3) Again, not possible to know in advance. But also be aware pugs don't like to waste ops & gels as crazy as us maxed manifest boys. Especially since BioWare stats showed like half the games are mission failure & thus putting them in the negatives if they start rage geling from the get go. But I noticed showing them victory is possible + making sure they have a good time by leaving them enough things to kill too usually makes them start contributing in this area.

4) I've seen otherwise enough times. But it still happens & if it happens, oh well. That's pug lottory

5) Soloing 1 entire wave I'm fine with. 2 is pushing it. 3 most likely not to happen unless I'm really generous & it's not Reapers. Last time all died on me on Ghost, I ran away from all enemies toward the LZ and looked toward the sunset. I later thought to myself "What's taking these enemies so long to reach and kill me already?" True story. But I stayed in the lobby for another match. Just let them know I don't like playing by myself. And I think things went better afterwards?

6) You talking about Ghost Harrier below Platinum or such?

More things to add; a) I still always extracted with these type of pugs way, way more then Mission Failure to feel like 90%. But if you're not up for more challenge or discovering this pug world some of us love, that's fine; b - Even went as far as avoiding matches that looked too stable, and; c) I also prioritize wasting rockets & ops to make impossible pug saves even if I have to waste them all on wave 1.

Lesson? Anything goes on Gold. And what does Gear do if it's not maxed Nade Capacity or Geth Scanner?

Should have phrased it as "jolly cooperation".

I don't ever care enough to kick anyone but I don't blame others for wanting to kick no gear equipping gold leeching noobs.

The really fun ones are the level 1's with a level 1 avenger trying to join a plat.

I doubt that's on purpose, that's what it's set to when you start your first ever game.

That's likely someone who hasn't figured out to change any challenge to a specific challenge yet.

On my newly set up alt account, the default for quick match was set to platinum.

I know I dropped accidently into Gold when I was still young and handsome three years ago.

If I kicked everyone I thought was an idiot, there wouldn't be many people to play with.

The empolyer would have to pay more taxes after each employee, which would result in higher food prices, and you would end up up paying the same amount, except you wouldn't have a choice how many percent more.

So it would be like every other business anywhere in the galaxy? No, no, that obviously doesn't work which is why global economies are collapsing.
