Cassandra, Sera and Vivienne.
What companions did you bring along for Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts?

Well being the fool I am I intend to bring my LI Sera, My Favorite Iron Bull... the Iron Bull and my mage in kind Dorian (Female mage Inq.)
While I was fully intending to bring Viv, the more I think about it the more I realize I just don't like her and she had a different specialization she would be kicked out of Skyhold.

My favorites to bring to the ball are Sera, Dorian, and Solas. I love the fact that Dorian's afraid his mother is going to drag him off by his ear. And I love the fake name Sera gives them to announce.
I also really like the extra super secret cache left by Sera's friends. More stuff is always better.
Solas is on my list because he's my favorite romance, and his dialogue is pretty flirty and uninhibited for him. Though I also really enjoy bringing Blackwall when I'm romancing him. And I also love the ball dialogue when you've romanced Cullen, even though that has nothing to do with who you take with you.
I also enjoy how grumpy Cass is during the party. I can just imagine my Quizzy pestering her all night, and possibly staring her down while dancing dramatically with the duchess. Because the opportunity to ask Cass to dance is still there, even with a fem Quizzy. And fem Quizzy dressed up like a man in a military style uniform, leading while dancing and staring down Cass is just.. Too funny.
I wasn't impressed the one time I took Vivienne to the ball. She didn't have much to say or do. I couldn't find Varric when I took him with me. Bull was mildly amusing with his comments about the snacks. Cole was interesting, because he was confused by the masks. But there are other people I've found to be more interesting at the ball.

My male human mage took Cassandra, Vivienne, and Blackwall for their prestigious titles. This was before Adamant of course, when my Inquisitor was still under the impression that Blackwall was a Grey Warden. In retrospect, it was highly risky to take him.
In my Hero of Ferelden playthrough I will probably take Varric instead of Blackwall since he's important among the Merchant's Guild and a popular writer who can entertain the nobles, and my Hero can tell that Blackwall isn't a Grey Warden.

I usually bring along the same group: Cassandra, Vivienne, Dorian.
Cassandra - Noble blood, started the Inquisition.
Vivienne - Imperial Enchanter, knows the ins and outs of the Orlesian court, mistress to a member of the Council of Heralds and knows them all personally.
Dorian - Two fold: he's my guy's boyfriend, so he gets brought everywhere... But my actual, tactical reasoning is that, even though he's from Tevinter and is likely to be sneered or gawked at, he does have experience with the Game (as played in Tevinter), and is also nobility, so he can offer some interesting insight as far as that's concerned. To Orlesians, being of noble blood can eclipse just about anything, but that only goes so far.
I'm actually rather torn on whether I think Dorian would want to go or not. On the one hand, he does like a party and this is a biggie. On the other hand, he knows that his status as a mage from Tevinter is likely to get him poor treatment, BUT it's also something he expects, even if he's not pleased with it (who would be?).

Whoever my current characters love interest is gets a guaranteed spot in the party, otherwise It doesn't matter to me who I bring.

Depends on my PT. If I feel like doing Sera's Red Jenny quest, I bring her, if not I bring Cole and my LI or dance with Josie and I always bring Viv! If I'm trying to make a good impression I'll bring Cass, Viv and Dorian, but more often than not it's my LI, Cole and Viv.
