Why are things categorized as they are? Good from Bad, Right from Wrong and always gravitating towards certain things; Decadent, Delicious, Dashing, Daring, and Delightful.

What makes one thing important over another? What is the opposite of important? Is it Unimportant or NOT important? Surely not as many things can be not something and not the opposite. They can be two unrelated things all together. Is the opposite of important then unwanted, unliked or simply bad?

So would value be simply a meaningless description in itself? So what is the meaning of life if it is merely on a want/avoid basis?

A social construct.

I'd actually say it's a psychological mechanic, not social.

The two unfortunately cannot normally be considered separate, given nurture and nature.

However, I will agree that survival sorts of things.

Like if a person is stranded on a island for 2 years, if you came to him and offered him gold, he'd much rather ask you for food/water or a ride.

But, if you told him that if he stayed for 1 more month, you would give him 20 gold bars and a ride, I'm sure he'd consider it.

First off, You answer these questions yourself. By your research and mental ability. Don't take answers for questions like these for granted.

I don't value others' opinions because i don't need them, But that's not what i meant. What i meant was that these are very deeply philosophical questions that can only be answered subjectively, There's no definitive answer to these questions. So, If you take others' opinions on these matters, you'd be doing it wrong.
