One of the most beautiful one shots I've read about Samson x Inquisitor. Dramatic and tragic. Remember to keep a handkerchief nearby. This made me cry in the end.
So will we see Samson in future DLC?
So will we see Samson in future DLC?
I really, really hope so.
But yeah, considering what Bioware have done in the past I don't hold up much hope, competing interest from companions being one I suspect (not that I would complain about that either.)
Anyone got one of them "Inquisitor as a Companion" surveys on hand? We could totally fill it out for Samson if you decide to keep him around Skyhold. Who needs DLC when we have such overactive imaginations?
FYI: I'm just about finished with painting the Samson sculpt. A few bits and cleanup to do, but here's where I'm at before I start varnishing it. This has been fun!
It's beautiful!

Our beloved templar now has got a statue of hiw own! ![]()
That detail! The moles, the crest on his cape!
How many sculptures have you done, and do you have some favorites (besides all of them)?
Eeek! He's adorable.

It is simply fantastic! All the details...incredible.

*foaming through the mouth*
Thanks for all the kind words! I want to do a little more work on the eyes, but I'm very happy with it overall.

This is the third sculpture I've made. The first was a bust of my companion Nadia Grell from SWTOR, which sits on my desk. The second was a kodama for a friend.
And I kinda want to do Calpernia next.
I'm taking a little break first, though.

YES. CALPERNIA ![]()
Thank you so much for sharing you sculpture with us!

I
Calpernia. A woman born for leadership. Clever, diplomatic, not afraid to take the lead and good at decision-making.
A pity we only saw one short cutscene with her. I wish we could see her again in DA4, in a prominent role.
i side with the templar cause i want to save sir baris , if you do the operation that pop up after siding with the templars , you will know that he save a mage from an ungry village without rising a sword , he is a perfect templar with a since of honor and with the right purpose of the Order protecting mages from their selfs and others
i think he is the templar that thedas deserve not some one that give up on his life easly like Samson with all my rescpectto him but i would liked him more if he endured like Cullen did , but now he say **** everything let's go red

No-one here will defend the choices Samson made in regards to Corypheus. They were made in a moment of weakness, depression, and desperation. If you didn't side with the mages you will never see/hear why he did what he did. It adds a lot of color to his character and paints him to be pretty sympathetic - imo.
Cullen did not endure. Cullen got lucky. He stood by for 10 years of Meredith's abuses and then got recruited by Cassandra - whose own weakness is getting swept up by her idealism and her love of romantic/heroic tales. Cullen has A LOT of damage. He would not have been the first person I recruited. Cullen - with the Inquisition - then has a safety net and a support system. He admits that he likely would be in the same place if Cassandra hadn't picked him up.
Then you have Samson, who did one nice/simple thing - pass a love note because he thought mages had rights to be PEOPLE and gets kicked out. Templars rely on lyrium to actually survive - he's 15 years into the order - physically and mentally addicted to this substance. They give him no life line and he's scrambling to figure out he can just survive. Not only that, he loved being a templar. It gave him purpose. He believed in what the order stood for. It was a massive blow to him. If you put him in jail on the mage run through, you learn that Corpyheus gave him that again. He recognizes that he was stupid to believe he could get that from Corypheus. It's quite heartbreaking. Again, noone defends what he did. You have Ser Barris who clearly would have rather died than submit. But not everyone is as strong as that.
This is a fan thread for Samson and not made to pit character against character. They all have their strengths and their weaknesses...some more than others.
i m just saying i wish we could save him like we save baris

If you mean save Samson from himself like Ser Barris? (sorry I must be misunderstanding you) But if that's what you mean, then yes, I wish we could have too...though I think his story as it is, is written well and is just heartbreaking. I like pain though ![]()
Definitely Samson deserves his happy ending! (Okay not really, but still....)
So people , do you side with mages just to see Samson? even if you like Samson story mean you like templar in general , no ?

I side with the mages for many reasons. Samson is just a plus. Also, liking Samson doesn't mean you like Templars in general, especially given what caused him to be like that in the first place.
