What I liked:

- Cullen

- The "Dawn will Come" singing cutscene

- The idea of the mounts

What I disliked:

- The sterilised feeling of the world (fade to black so no intimacy / no desire demons etc)

- The lack of threat posed by the main baddie (soundly defeated at every single turn)

- The lack of consequence (it felt like my decisions were utterly meaningless and had no impact on the game - even choosing to side with the Templars was an exercise in pointlessness, I still had to fight Templars for the rest of the game).

totally agree, its up there with my fav Bioware moments along with the battle of Ostagar, the destruction of the Normandy in ME2, the warden's army charging at Denerim and the Reapers invading Earth in ME3.

Age: 41

Gender: Male

BW History: Played nearly every bioware game to date.. and a few that were bioware off shoots..

Liked

1. The World looks Amazing - It really does look great i just wish it had more in it..

2. The Crafting Idea.. - Great concept falls flat with RNG and limited weapons and armors

3. Customization - Needs more all through the game, armors, weapons, haircuts etc

Hated

1. Tactical Camera - 100 hours in.. i still hate this thing, i've completely stopped using it and hope for an over haul.

2. Consolization - Dumbing Down gameplay to account for other systems, limited everything, from generic Armors to tiny amount of skill hotbars, skill sets, group tactics potion issues and no Attributes this game really feels it on PC nearly everywhere..

3. Characters kind of boring, they really do not appeal to me at all, which then in turn makes the story kind of flat..

My top 3 PC games by Bioware

1) Baldur's Gate II

2) DA: Origins

3) Mass Effect

What I like in Inquisition

Exploring the amazing environments B)

Listening to the music <3

Gettings to know the interesting characters Bioware are so good at developing :)

What I hate in Inquisition:

The dumbing down of Dragon Age (classes, skills, ability points, spells, MMO respawning, options in combat, etc.) <_<

Feeling like the elf with broken arms due to awful mouse/keyboard controls

Crying over the lack of customizable tactics :crying:

Liked:

1. Companions & their quests - this is always the most important part of Bioware games for me, and DAI didn't disappoint. I love the companions, and aside from the banter not triggering as often as it should, I've got no complaints about them. I've definitely gotten attached, and some of them (Cass and Cole) I'd consider some of the most wonderfully written characters in the series.

2. Exploration & the beautiful world - I really like being able to finally see Thedas. Not just its politics/people/monsters, but the scenery and setting. It's so beautiful. I love the amount of detail put in and the different feel of places (e.g. Emerald Graves compared to Hissing Waste.

3. Main story quests - these were so much fun, very exciting and engaging. There were a few issues (like Lavellan being more ignorant than Morrigan about Mythal), but over all I really enjoyed them. In particular, In Your Heart Shall Burn had some very tense and emotional points, and I really liked the alternate reality/bad future of the mage/templar recruitment quests. I would have liked to see more main story quests.

Disliked:

1. Crafting - I like this in theory, but there are lots of flaws, like the fact there are only a handful of schematics (some of which are just random drops). There's also no opportunity to see what the schematic looks like before you buy it or compare it to your current gear's stats. This is a feature I think should be worked on, not removed.

2. Silence - between the banter not triggering often and the ambient music being rare, there was too much silence in the game! DAI could also take a tip from The Elder Scrolls and have some ambient music to add to the atmosphere while exploring. DAI just has a little every so often.

3. The ending - it was really lacklustre. Even without his army, I was hoping Corypheus would pull something out of the bag for a tense and thrilling ending (like assaulting Skyhold, using the Eluvians or something). Instead, there was no warm up (What Pride Has Wrought does not count as an ending, anymore than the Landsmeet or Act 3 do). There was no final dungeon or tense 'fighting for our lives' feeling. Partly this was because there are no 'last goodbyes' with the companions, and they don't do anything during the final battle. DAO, Awakening, DA2 and ME2 all had companions doing other work during the end sequence. It adds scope and excitement. One thing I did like was the after-party, it was reminiscent of DAO's. And the final scene with the LI and epilogue.

I like threads like this, I'll bite.

Platform: ps4, PC

Gender: Female, 26

Bioware History: Everything but BG. Which I've been meaning to play, but my computer keeps noping me because apparently it's quad core doesn't like it. I even like TOR! Then again, I'm easy to please. Though I started with Mass Effect and Dragon Age, and worked my way backwards, while waiting for content :P Kotor is definitely my favorite, though.

What I liked:

1. Big, explorable areas that were absolutely beautiful. Filled with quests! I don't even mind repeating areas/quests or farming because I played WoW, and a few other MMOs for the better part of a decade. So I guess I'm rather 'desensitized' to it all.

2. Cullen. And the other companions/advisors, too. They felt real, and I could relate with them rather easily. Except Vivienne, she can DIAF. This is true for any bioware game, though. If they're consistent in one thing, I always hope it's this. The companions make the story for me, because without them... any game falls rather flat. Bioware excels at writing memorable characters, whether you hate them (Vivienne) or love them to death (Cullen, Alistair, Garrus.. etc)

3. The expansion on the lore, and finally telling me what the hell Flemeth is. I love the lore, and they added to it wonderfully.

Things I didn't like:

1. This story was the flattest out of any bioware game I've ever played. Hell, the story was good... until the ending. For me, it was really good and then face planted. I'm hoping DLC will fix this because I still have faith in Bioware... hoping they won't screw us over.

2. Give. Me. A. Damned. Mirror. So. I can. FIX MY DANG CHEEK BONES WITHOUT NEEDING TO RESTART THE PROLOGUE A MILLION TIMES. And if you're not going to do that, at least let me turn off the tutorials! That would save me 5 minutes of my life, and that adds up!

3. Tactical camera. I wasn't going to add this, but the newest patch is making me. While I find it easier to tell Dorian to move his butt out of the way of a high dragon's mouth (dragon rules, you know?) I would, in the very least, like it so I could center the camera on the character I switch to. I like to cycle through my characters, and get their relative positions. This made it easier for me to put barrier up, or an aoe. But whatever, I'll adapt.

Things I liked:

- Characters, from major to minor ones

- Banter, ambient dialogue and the way various little details affect the dialogue options and lines.

- Environments, DA finally feels more like a real world as far as the environment goes.

Things I didn't liked:

- Many of companions personal quest felt like extra material, I would like it if they were integrated into the story better. Main story was all over the place, I get the idea behind it, but I think the execution could be better. I also would like to see a more focused story that is NOT a prologue.

- The armour you get to wear and craft is fugly . The idea behind the crafting system is nice but the implementation is lacking.

- The animation was also not stellar, especially the emotions on the Inquisitor looked  very cartoonish, which would be ok, if the character had cartoonish anatomy and build, but they did not. It was also annoying that some expression would stuck on the character face for  no reason whatsoever.  Lastly the whole gorilla walk/act was a terrible idea, it looks silly on men and it looks ridiculous on women. Pick something neutral if you must.

Things I liked
-companions
-4 playable races
-weapon and armor crafting. It would have been perfect if it removed the tier levels and added a dye slot.

Things I disliked, (w/extreme prejudice)
-Slow movement speed during combat
-RNG
-armor and hair design

The Good:

Good looking world

The characters. Despite Sera...

Extensive character creator, despite no color wheel for hair color.

The Bad:

Completely vanilla compared to what was a gritty looking series with Origins.

Completely trivial, gather-y, uninteresting, character-less, side quests. And barely anything has consequenses.

No commerce whatsoever. No hub-cities. No one sells proper armor or weapons (probably done to push the extremely mediocre crafting system).

The Ugly:

Babyvomit color pyjama's, which you are forced to wear.

No option to change hair/beard etc. in-game.

90% of the armor is all recoloring of what characters already wear.

And I saw some other people doing this:

Platform: Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One. (And Neverwinter Nights 2 on PC)

Age: 22½

Gender: The one that produces sperm.

Bioware History: Jade Empire, Mass Effect, Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 3, Neverwinter Nights 2, Dragon Age: Inquisition. And attempts to get the KoToR's to work on Windows Vista,7,8.

Favorite Bioware games:

1. Mass Effect 2

2. Dragon Age: Origins/Mass Effect

3. Jade Empire

2- No emotions . 5 choices in dialogue wheels and no emotions ranges . WOW ...is that an upgrade or a downgrade ?

Bioware history: everything save Kotor

DA:0>DA:I>>DA:2

What I Liked.

Characters and companions: Well designed good back story with some depth and personal agenda.

Combat: I really  liked the return of the tactical aspect and effect of the gear as well the fact that every call was viable and added something to the fight.

exploration: Large environment with different level of difficulty.

what I found lacking

The inquisition: the organisation and its effect seems to be bit lackluster, yes you can collect agents, the keep visually improves and if you talk to people they keep telling you how great the inquisition is doing.  Yet it hardly seems to shape, the world, events or even surroundings. Ie we are the inquisition, we have gathered some powerful allies. let's get 3 petunias on the portcullis.

The Story: whilst i like the story and the execution, sometimes, it really feels disjointed for example the attack on Heaven great was nicely done and conceptualized but I did not really felt any sense of urgency or really threat and after that it kind of felt the Cory could not be arsed no more and was just going through the motion. IE I was surprise that we did not loot his redundancy/resignation letter on his bod at the end.

the combat: for 2 reasons

1) the lack of abilities to build tactics, the camera that has a life on its own makes the tactical combat a micro management affair. IE it is simpler to disable the  ai for the ranged companions than trying to make them act according to you plan. The CTD makes the  tactical combat  totally unplayable. when the game is bombing out every 10-20 minutes and are vety likely each  time a new decor or cut scene is loaded.

2) by the time I disabled the shader-cache, un-tiked anything with AA in it, uninstalled asus OSD and prevented to connect to origin, the effective difference was such that every fight was a walk over.

Phil

PS i liked the gamem and i think it was very good much better than DA:2 but despite  fixing most of DA:0 fault, I think DA:O was a better product.
