That's appropriate human behavior, right?
Right?

Jack is much more sophisticated. She's just honest in her ways. Actually, this behaviour she has is for pushing away people. And with good reason.
That's what makes pulling her personality out interesting.

Kidnapped as a child
Tortured
Implanted
Forced to fight other kids
Experimented on
Escaped Prison by killing
Gang raped
Cheated, Used, or almost killed by everyone she's ever met.
I don't think BioWare went far enough.. The Girl should be stark raving INSANE..

Yeah, it's amazing how damn judgemental some of you are. I'd like to see you Jack haters come out half as functional as Jack is after what she went through even AFTER escape.morel142 wrote...

Anyway, they're both likable characters, if you actually try getting to know them and not just being judgemental.

get over it?! did not listen to her?! she's been repeatdly raped since childhood. Asking her to tone down the phyco nutjob bit, sure but slapping her and telling her to get over it is a tad too much me thinks (if your paragon anyways).
Miranda starts out a **** but she turns out pretty ok.

I agree. My paragon character lost Jack in the last mission... and I didn't even care to try and get her. Even after her loyality mission, I was just sitting there like; "B*tch.. I died, and am working with a group that I want nothing to do with. Get over it!"

Seriously, this is true... I defy anyone to hate Miranda after the ending to her loyalty mission and the email you get from her sister. By the end of the game, she's even reconsidering her brittle self-righteous attitude about Cerberus and TIM.

You compare Shepherd's momentsof hell to Jack's lifetime of it? Come off it.

I also liked Jack, even though I can't for the life of me figure out why. I thought I would hate her when I first saw her. I -knew- I would hate her. I was so determined to hate her! And somehow, I didn't. I felt bad for her. I feel like she'll only improve as Shepard continues to respect and care about her, and show her an example of someone who isn't just in it for themselves.

I hear that, if she's loyal and with you at the boss battle, she cuts TIM off, if you decide to destroy the ship.stillnotking wrote...

I originally thought Miranda sought out Cerberus because she was THAT much of a xenophobe, but you find soon enough that it was for protection mostly.

Um, cool? Lol.
At first I wasn't so terribly excited for Miranda until I did her loyalty mission. I actually teared up and got some serious sniffles during it. Really put her character into perspective.

I'm going to entertain the notion that you're not as screwed in the head as your comments here make it seem. I personally just can't concieve of how someone could think something like what you said and have it be out of character, unless they had mental complexities (Anecdote: a HUGE percentage of people have undiagnosed anti-social personality disorder, since (Western, capitalist) society reinforces egotism, emotional detachment, and alienation). Everything I say and do is in character for me. I'm not saying that I don't lie but that I believe in everything I say, do, or think to at least some degree. I also have unusually high empathy, so I'm perfectly able to empathize with these (designed to be emotional engaging) fictional characters. If what you said isn't ACTUALLY your belief than whatevs.KalliChan07 wrote...

Um, cool? Lol.So, we all are aware that these characters are fictional yes?

Why do you empathize with Miranda but not Jack?
