Jack's character is very ****ing unlikable (which fits with her history, and goes to show how well the character was developed - the damaged psyche is perfect for her experiences), but she's growing on me. I still wish I could airlock her though.

I'm going to entertain the notion that you're not as screwed in the head as your comments here make it seem. I personally just can't concieve of how someone could think something like what you said and have it be out of character, unless they had mental complexities (Anecdote: a HUGE percentage of people have undiagnosed anti-social personality disorder, since (Western, capitalist) society reinforces egotism, emotional detachment, and alienation). Everything I say and do is in character for me. I'm not saying that I don't lie but that I believe in everything I say, do, or think to at least some degree. I also have unusually high empathy, so I'm perfectly able to empathize with these (designed to be emotional engaging) fictional characters. If what you said isn't ACTUALLY your belief than whatevs.

Why do you empathize with Miranda but not Jack?

Oh no. Local forum wannabe/studying-for psychoanalyst has arrived. Prepare to be diagnosed with autism yo.

So, you have established yourself as an anti-wester capitalist, overly serious, and pretentious smart alec. I no longer take what you say seriously.

As a paragon interested in preserving humanity, I chose miranda over tali because lets be honest, adding my badass shepard dna to miranda's badass dna is a lot better for humanity than putting it with some weak arsed belly aching quarian.

I really wanted an option to shove Jack in an airlock and space the ****. ****y, annoying as **** character.

See, I thought ahead. Rather than letting her bunk in engineering, I just tricked her into thinking her quarters were the airlock. Whoops!

I like both Miranda and Jack. Didn 't expect much dialogue playing as a woman, but both opened up well to my Shep.

In fact, just got through dialogue where Miranda admitted she admired me, especially with my backwater colonist background

and Jack actually stressed concern about why I cared for her anyways :)

I'm glad they'r loyal to me, and I'm going to try to not get them killed

I like Miranda's character. After doing the sidequests and dialogue she develops a long way from a typical cerberus drone xenophobe.

Jack, I understand and feel sorry for as a character.. but I don't like her. Simple as that. Yes, there were emotionally scarring experiences that made her into a psychopath... but she's still a psychopath.

I was actually starting to warm up to Miranda, and she was starting to warm up to me. Things were swell...then I went on Jack's loyalty quest, and just because I defend Jack against Cerberus, suddenly Miranda is completely against me. It made me wish SO BADLY that I could step in and do my own dialogue so I could walk into Miranda's office when she's giving me that "Why don't you go talk to your little pal Jack" ****y comment and reply with, "Wow, really? Just before the mission you were flirting and acting interested in me, and because I helped a girl who was mentally scarred in the worst way by a Cerberus project and defended her understandable rage against them, you're getting your panties in a bunch? Seriously? Boy, did I ever dodge a bullet!"

Pfft...to hell with Miranda. Then again, I'm not hooking up with Jack either. I only have eyes for Tali.

She isn't wearing any panties. I checked.

Jack is personally my favorite character, to me she seems the most real of them all. It's just interesting to see her bare her soul as you slowly open her up, how she doesn't want to trust you or get close to people. Which is understandable, anyone who has dealt with scarring and betrayal the way she has would want to keep their distance.

As for her being a psychopath, the more you talk to her and get to know her she softens up. I feel like her psycho persona is a means of protecting herself and making others not desire to get close to her. Though those are just my opinions, i'm not trying to convince anyone that they need to like her, depending on your own life experiences you'll either sympathize and understand her ways or not.

Miranda's chip on her shoulder come from her past dealing with people. As you talk to her you'll get why she acts a certain way. She got self-esteem issues that she over compansates with Egotism. I know a few people like that so I'm more paticent about it. You can work with her.

Jack sure has a chip on her shoulder.

For me, (ass) it was an (ass) easy choice (ass) who to side with.

i loved each and every character, their personalities are so real and believable. i liked miranda's "i'm better than all of you and i know it" attitude as well as jack's "i'm crazy and i really don't care to be polite" attitude that's what made those characters. would you really have preferred some generic characters that were tailored to not get on any gamer's nerves?

I feel both Miranda and Jack need therapy...

Miranda needs to work on her "Daddy and Self-Esteem Issues" and Jack needs to join Tiger Wood's in that clinic he is at..and then work on her abandonment issues..

Guess that would fall to Mordin to counsel..now that would be quite a sight!!

Jack is some mal-adjusted perpetual teenager, the tattoos are just another form of cutting. I am totally suprised that we were not graced with the Jack hurling after every meal thing. The biggest problem with Jack is that she needs psychological help and a swift kick in the ass, about what every teenager needs every now and then, yes even me when i was that age. Can not argue with her talents and she is a good fill in biotic until you get Samara then she is all you need. Samara is much more pleasant to be around while on a mission and attractive as well, who needs Jack not I.

Look i will agree that Jack had it bad. Her life was not puppies and pink tutus, that still is not an excuse. Jack's problems are she is either really stupid which makes her useless to me, or to blinded by rage to see straight, which makes her useless to me. She is a member of the Normandy's crew. She is my responsibility, and if anyone tries to hurt her or any other crew member for that matter it will only be over my dead body as i am sure any crew member will say the same. Jack is a part of the crew and the only one who can screw that up is Jack. Jack needs to come to terms with her past, and move on into the future. She wants someplace to belong, as does everybody, but one must also try to fit in. Picking fights with Miranda over things that Miranda had no control over is not a good start. When this is over if she wants to hunt TIM down, be my guest, ill even drive but in the mean time WE DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR THIS ****. My paragon Shepard will not tolerate any disruptions to the smooth working order aboard HER ship, and i will personally air lock the first SOB who interferes with that. The truest measure of your character is not where you came from but how you deal with it.
