Actually it was the Fereldan army, and it was an army that won a battle at a river crossing while the rear lines and support train was being harassed by a high dragon.

But however you want to sell River Dane recall it was the lack of Orlesian military intervention that allowed Fereldan to actually gain independence.

It was Florian writing the province off, which in turn led to chilled relations between the Empire and their former province

But hey you trying to sell a army that had been a viable rebel movement for decades as a group of pissed off farmers sure is inspiring.

I brought it up not because it caused them to win, but because they have more balls than chevalier in my book, as crazy as it was. Chevalier fight men women and children who are unarmed and harp on about honor...

 

Ferelden farmers meanwhile were running up on their ass weaponless and didn't give a damn.

 

Chevalier can't compete with their fake ass sense of honor.

No one was attacking those chevalier in the alienage which is what I was talking about. Don't pretend like they just kill unarmed men that attack them... There lies the difference.

Give us a chevalier who takes pride in being one, who admits there are bad apples but believe the Chevaliers represent an ideal that one should strive towards. Let us argue with him over honour and the Code. If playing as a City Elf, let us relate a story where Chevaliers walked into your Alienage and did bad things.

Now that would be interesting.

Chevaliers are a force to be reckoned with, I won't lie. But they're not badasses. Anyone that walks around killing unarmed innocents, within their own territory even, with no real repercussions for their actions, AND drunk... are babyback *******. I don't care what excuse you give, this wasn't to show that you could obey any order, or to steel your resolve, this was just to cement their place in society above elves and commoners in general, and to let that point hit home for everyone, especially the chevalier.
 
That's it. IF this was for any other purpose, they wouldn't get drunk as if the evil sweaty swine were celebrating, which it seems very much like they were, since this is at the end of their training. No, chevalier are not badasses. You want to know badass?
 
The Ferelden yokels that sent their asses packing with their tails between their legs back to Orlais' frilly cupcakes and ugly ass outfits. The doglords that charged these guys with nothing but their bare hands and didn't give a damn about their own lives anymore, because Orlesian assholes were THAT unbearable. THOSE guys are badass. There's nothing badass about beating down on people that can't defend themselves, and no fighting darkspawn and demons doesn't make up for it.
 
Chevalier are no better than obese pimply larpers, pretending to have honor when half of them wouldn't know honor if the maker slapped them on their ass with it. Screw chevaliers.

Guy who wants to start a war, is racist towards elves, proclaims he's going to threaten and kill anyone who doesn't agree with him, and openly complained that he had to kill darkspawn rather than killing dalish elves? You need to see it from an objectinal point of view rather than fanboying about Gaspard. He's a doucebag regardless of how bro he is with you. Ignoring what someone says and attempts at "defeating" their argument but saying that you forgot where the part about killing unarmed people came from doesn't get you anywhere. Killabee condemned Chevaliers as worthless for getting drunk and going on killing spree in alienage AND he commended those insane farmers attacking Chevaliers in Ferelden. It's not that hard to notice that those are two different things. Especially after Killabee first said something about "men, women and children" (I don't think any children were attacking the Chevaliers) and then - after you somehow managed to misunderstand him - he explicitly said he was talking about the Alienage... How hard do you try to not get what he's talking about?...

Also, I have something for you: If I were to believe the wiki, it seems that Loghain made a bunch of elven servants and hookers tagging along with Maric's army into a commando that was killing Chevaliers. It seems that our elite knights had their arrow-stung asses handed to them by elven hookers. Repeatedly. So much for their badassery
