So you're okay with chevaliers raping and killing a woman right in front of her husband and child?
Loghain says an Orlesian commander did it. There's no evidence it was a Chevalier.

I never said that Night Elves were better fighters than Chevaliers, of course they weren't (and let's not even mention their equipment compared to those guys). But that's pretty much what it's all about: Night Elves were hardly wariors at all, much less elite ones. Nobody expects armed servants to win a fair fight against elite knights. Elite knights, on the other hand, are not supposed to lose to armed servants, even in very unfavorable circumstancesWhenever the Chevaliers fought the Night Elves on their own terms the elves were almost completely wiped out
If a bunch of servants and hookers hidden in the forest with their bows pose a threat to your elite warriors, your warriors' badass factor takes a bit of a blow.

Or your elite warriors aren't trained for guerrilla warfare.
I don't know why I'm arguing this, I dislike Orlais and the chevialiers as much as the next guy lol

Why would they train in that field in all seriousness? They are the elite forces of the debatably strongest kingdom in Thedas.
They have all the resources and logistical support that entails.
Guerrilla warfare is most often employed by forces lacking the strength of a standing army.

Ignoring what someone says and attempts at "defeating"
Actually the intent was more to dispute Orlais losing to yokels and those farmers being morons not heros.

They likely have as much counter insurgency training as anyone in Thedas.

I wonder what the exact size of a "legion" is, by Orlesian standards.
That's a lot of dead Chevaliers.

Actually it was the Fereldan army, and it was an army that won a battle at a river crossing while the rear lines and support train was being harassed by a high dragon.
But however you want to sell River Dane recall it was the lack of Orlesian military intervention that allowed Fereldan to actually gain independence.
It was Florian writing the province off, which in turn led to chilled relations between the Empire and their former province
But hey you trying to sell a army that had been a viable rebel movement for decades as a group of pissed off farmers sure is inspiring.
Bit insulting to the Fereldans though.
There's no mention of the dragon attacking any soldiers, and the Orlesians chose the field of battle at River Dane, so if they fought at a disadvantage then it was their choice to do so. The emperor wrote them off afterwards because the defeat was so ruinous that he didn't want to commit any more troops to the occupation. "Chilled relations," are you kidding? At that point the nobility and the Fereldan Chantry had already turned on the invaders.
If the dragon did attack their supply lines, maybe they should have hired some Nevarran mercenaries to take care of it. ![]()

Actually the Fereldans were tipped off to them crossing the mountains and then gathered a force at the river, so sure they committed to battle, but what is the alternative? Return to Orlais?and the Orlesians chose the field of battle at River Dane, so if they fought at a disadvantage then it was their choice to do so
It was pitched enough initially that both Loghain and Rowan nearly died on the field.

I still want the inclusion of a Chevalier spec complete with a blanket attack that stuns all elves regardless of their resistance.
Technically the Chevalier spec is the Champion spec

I understand that many players despise the Chevaliers' actions. Yet for all of the terrible things that the group do (rape, random murder, etc), I can't help but find them extremely fascinating. I really hope that the next game or DLC expands more one them ( perhaps Chevaliers as a special class or perhaps a companion is a current or former member?) Does anyone else agree, or am in the minority here? What are your feelings toward the Chevaliers and do think they can be redeemed in any way? Or why do you think differently?
In general I don't care for them, they tend to seem a mockery of knighthood and the virtues and duties it is meant to uphold, but then I think of Aveline talking about her father who was a exiled Chevalier and remember even with the masks they are human.

There are probably a lot of mage-knights in DA Rome. Hooray for mage-knights!

Seriously though, who need a Chevalier spec when you have that?
