Main difference are the wage differences between Poland and Canada. CD Project Red owning gog.com and making a lot of money out of it probably also helps, so they don't need a publishers money like EA to develop the game.

Actually Cd Projekt is the main company. CD Projeckt Red and GOG are subsidiaries. So the development team of the Witcher 3 answer to bosses just like Bioware answers to EA. Also CD Projekt Red is using WB (Warner Brothers) Games in North America. Bandi Namco Games in Europe and parts of Asia, 1C Company in Russia, Spike Churnsoft in Japan, Megarom Interactive in South Africa to publish the game along with cdp.pl for Poland.

The game has to do well because there are a lot of hands in this pie.

Sorry if I was being vague. What's irritating is people that voice their disappointment at every chance they get without giving constructive criticism and resorting to hyperbolic and irrational arguments to justify their point.

There isn't as many as you assume. Inquisition takes as long as Origins took to play and as I stated in another post...you can do enough to get all of the agents in the Hinterlands. YOU DONT HAVE TO DO THEM ALL.

It all goes down to laziness.

And given that Power is so Goddam easy to get (Requisitions, Rifts, quick side quests AND main quests) you can actually ignore the majority of them. I've done it & beaten the game. And on the PC, even easier: Use CheatEngine, get lotsa gold & buy Influence/Power at Skyhold. Boom, done.

I actually like spending time with side quests in DAI, it's relaxing. Plus ALL THE BANTER I get to hear now? Totes worth it.

Stop speaking for all PC players.   I play it on PC and it works perfectly fine for me.

I would argue that it's less about laziness and more about people being accustomed to being hand-held through the plot with a very linear game structure or people used to experiencing zones that can be completed at once and be forgotten about rather than being revisited later at their discretion.

I played both and they are fun but they are not the perfect flawless games they are made out to be. I am looking forward to the moment when the Witcher Developers eventually ****** off and disappoint their fandom because it will happen eventually. And when the moment comes its going to be glorious.

It's not as though their games have never had serious problems with bugs. The difference is in their interaction with their fans. They listen intently and then try to fix what the players are having concerns about ASAP. Then usually give something away for free as an apology. Compare that with Bioware who tend to ignore fans that aren't sqeeing.with positivity. Or when they do post on here it's often terse and passive aggressive in manner.

I hope CDPR continue to put other devs to shame when it comes to how to treat your fans and customers. It will hopefully rid us of the cancer of microtransactions, on disc paid dlc , and bugs remaining in the game for months before being patched.

The guy is only saying what countless reviewers have said, and he's 100% absolutely correct. There is a lack of meaningful side quests and far too many "go get 10 tchotchki" quests. I don't do them all, so don't even say it, but they're still a plague. I want a quest to fire all the requisition officers.

Please tell me that you didn't actually go out of your way to do the requisitions?

The only reason they exist is as an alternate method of accruing power and influence rather than exploring the world entirely.

I have done every quest in the game and I ended with a surplus of 280+ power.

On my third playthrough I played a no nonsense Inquisitor and avoided A LOT of side quests and ended with 160 or so.

I said, don't even say it. No I didn't, but I still get the requisition officers tapping on my shoulder every bleeding time I'm in a camp.

I agree 100%.  :)  Its very relaxing. One day all I did was get the shards and do the Astrariums.    Also....I wonder how many people even realized Ritts was an agent. I didn't get her until my 2nd playthrough.

Its funny how people come to the boards and whine more whenever this game wins another award. (They won two more last night)

Its obvious many people were not here during DA2.

And lets be honest here, once you're on your 2nd or 3rd playthrough, you're just going to buy power/influence anyway

I just took the quest and then ignored it. Easier that way.

Ignore him? The requests don't even show up on your quest log so there's no completionist compulsion by accepting them either.

Please accept my apologies then. :)    I get tired of the unplayable on PC whining where the fact remains people just don't like change and are too lazy to learn the controls.

I'm still waiting for Shani not being erased & not being forced into a relationship with Triss in TW2.

An apology? It's (good) PR.

Except they don't? Even in the DAII days, BioWare listened & addressed concerns (Like many were addressed in Legacy), a huge part of DAI is based on user feedback, some people say that they're actually listening TOO MUCH. You can't have it both ways.

Not gonna happen. Ever. Esp. not because of ONE dev studio using that as a.....wait for it........marketing ploy. (FYI, BioWare gave out free DLC too in their early years, let's see what CDPR will do in ten years. If they still exist as a dev studio by then)

I did about 15 - 20 requisition quests during my first play through, thinking that after a certain point the Inquisition would get everything it needed in a particular area. It was only after the 3rd time that a geological survey came up (for the exact same rocks) that I realized these were useless padding quests.  <_<

I did on my first play through. I thought having better swords would make the difference between life or death for my army (like shields for the ship in ME2) since Bioware actually said tbe Inquisition forces would be important in marketing.

I once left Haven with 15,000 gold and I don't use the cheat engine. Its very easy to avoid the requisitions.

I'll do some periodically but I always turn them in at Skyhold and I avoid the requisitions officer by clicking NOT RIGHT NOW.

It's still ****** annoying seeing the highlight on the map, which doesn't go away until you indulge the ******. And it's a she, at least on my game. Super annoying.

Inquisitor! I have something for you.

No you don't, shut the **** up.

Ah well I suppose the fact that they weren't explicitly tagged as repeatable quests may have been a mistake on BioWare's part.

Although I thought it was fairly obvious, I can tell that one may get the impression that they were important from the swords requisition you get. It was basically there to introduce you to the feature.

I think the surveys increase the number of resources you get in the zone if I'm not mistaken.

Lmao I just walk away.

Although once Solas and Vivienne were having this REALLY interesting banter in The Hissing Wastes and I accidentally walked by a camp and the Requisition officer interrupted it completely when she said "INQUISITOR!".

I was seething for the next 5 minutes. I tried reloading but it didn't reappear til much later in the game. :P

Immediately a window pops up saying "go get 10___ and 5___." So I don't know what game you're playing.

"Ignore it" is not a response. You're not deflecting any criticism with that kind of reply, you're just being dismissive of people saying they find it annoying.

The fact is that people are allowed to give realistic, deserved criticism of a game, even a good game- which is exactly what the Witcher dev said it was.

Also as a new player, you don't know how unimportant those quests are. You might be thinking it's like ship upgrades in ME2.
