Black Desert upcoming Korean MMORPG has by far the best character creation in video games ever...It seriously mind blowing...Bioware should learn something from them...

here check it out

Just look at the level detail and amount of options :o

It seems okay.  Outside of that one dwarf looking guy, everyone looks like a typical J-Pop teen hero, though.  I'd like to know that it is robust enough to make a wide variety of characters.  I have virtually zero interest in making a character that looks like s/he is straight out of a JRPG, personally.  I wanted to see more variety.  If they had shown that dwarfy guy outside of two static screenshots of him, I might be more convinced.  I'm lukewarm on it, to be honest.  Although, I do like the idea of body customization.

I hate the fact that all those characters looks exactly the same, just with different hair, skin color, tattoos, etc.

I prefer bigger variety in faces like we have in DA:I.

Game is made for Korean audience not American..I was using it as a example that i want something similar to this in next DA or ME....

I wouldn't mind a CC on this level for future ME and DA games at all.  The potential is amazing.

I don't really want an anime character as my player character, to be honest. Body shape is a nice idea but would most likely lead to stretched armor textures/clipping bugs.

Yaay! I've been waiting for this thread! xD Obviously one doesn't have to make the character look like the ones in the video, like the OP said, the beta video is directed towards the Asian audience. I believe once it hits European and American servers we'll see a huge variety in the looks of the characters, just like there should be. With that amount of options for detail customization I'd say one could make any range of different looks! I NEEEEEED this for all future installments of all future RPGs. Not saying it needs to look the same as Black Desert, only that there should be more customization options in general in my opinion. :)

The character creator in Inquisition would be great if 90% of the hairstyles wern't awful. VTMB had hair physics in 2003 but Bioware can't do it in 2014?

C'mon. An extremely powerful customization engine hobbled by lazy assets.

As amazing as that body customization looks, It just wouldn't work for a game that relies heavily on cutscenes like ME or DA. That insane variety of options would require that the same scene to be animated dozens of times over and over, to prevent clipping and jagging. Look at DA: I. The game had some body variety because of the races, and some of them got the worst, often the Qunari heads simply sinked into their torsos  and the elves had that horrible broken arm problem.

But I totally see they implementing the facial options seen here, DA:I got pretty close actually. We just need some decent hair and we are all set.

I honestly don't see the problem with the CC we were given, short of the hair that lacks any sort of realism. Why do things always have to get turned into "DA:I should be like this game..." or "this game is so much better than DA:I because..."

We can create characters that look vastly different already...and they don't all have to end up looking like anime characters.

Black Desert's characters look like anime simply because the game target's asian audiences, while DA focus way more on the western market. But the propose of the topic wasn't because we want anime action heroes in DA, it's the options that BD's CC offer. The number of customizable things there is just insane. While the options for body would hardly work in a cutscene driven storyteller like DA or ME, I totally think the facial customization used here is possible (adding more racial variety of course). Just look at the individual parts of the face that can be altered *-* Not to mention the haircuts, that each tread is individually made, and you can choose the size of each mesh, change the volume,  and even make it more wavy. For someone that likes making custom characters, BD's CC is heaven on Earth

Also, the character creator isn't the only thing to be amazed... have you seen this game's combat? It's insane! Not a fan of MMO's, but wen this game is released in north america I'm definitely getting a copy.
