Is the World of Thedas Volume 2 an updated version of Volume 1? Or will they be dealing with entirely unique lore? Trying to decide whether I should wait for Volume 2, or if I would need both to have the complete amount of information.
World of Thedas Volume 2 to encompass contents of volume 1?

I believe I heard that it will be full of completely new content. I seem to recall a developer saying this, but I cannot find the source at the moment.

I'm pretty sure it won't include the contents of the first one; if it had, they wouldn't be referred to as "volumes", they'd instead be referred to as e.g. "editions".

It will be lots of new lore, we'll see places we've never seen, past the main area of Thedas always depicted on the map.

Ben here, jumping in to clarify. ![]()
We just finished the book with Dark Horse, and while I can't say anything too specific right now, Volume 2 is definitely not just an updated version of Volume 1.
Instead it's a very new, somehow bigger beast of a book meant to complement the first.
Volume 1 focused on the world as defined by its nations, groups, and history. This time we looked at the world as defined by its people, while also fleshing out some key lore best saved for an even deeper dive. Hopefully the book's a good time. We had way too much fun making it.

Awesome to hear!
But I have one very important question...
Is there information about Tempests in it? (rogue spec).
