Why would you ever fix a single player glitch that was not even a problem? That glitch made it a lot easier for people who dont care about farming and just go straight through the game. Now I don't want to do another playthrough anymore. Ive beaten the game already.

And allowing the exploit would somehow reverse this?...

well...yes...
One can speed up the game with the exploits, not having to stop every two steps to pick up rocks, not worrying about re-loading several times to see the end result of the crafting, there was tge the power/influence exploit, etc...

Needless to say, if an exploit is closed up in an update, the chances of it ever being reopened are nil.

YES. Not everyone wants to spend 100 hrs farming. The game is already reallllllyyy long as it is. I love the game and that exploit was a frkkn time saver.
I know they cant bring it back. Just want them to know that it was a dumb move. As it was not even breaking the game. For people who dont want to use it can just simply ignore it. And for people who want to run through the game fast while still being able to craft strong items can use it. Its just a matter of choice. Ive used it but only on occasions when i need more mats. which saves soooooooo muuuuch frrkn time.
But whatever it is what it is

It was a bug... Bioware's job is to fix the bugs. They're not bringing to back. They may as well just add a shop at the start of the game that gives you every item for free.

Ah yes, of all the other criticism people seems to have about this game the concept that they might actually fix bugs is clearly the greatest offense of them all and needs to be corrected now. Why not have something more logical to the game like a resource merchant? Also, resource gathering and farming is optional, I played through on hard and didn't farm too much except on my firs runs of any area; it does leave an advantage to the player but its exclusion from a playthrough is hardly game breaking

a bug they never bothered fixing in dao or da2 because they knew some players liked them.
Now it's almost impossible to bring it back, but it doesn't cost anything to ask.

Even though I loved the duping glitch, I second this one. There should be a somekind of extra special merchant, from who you could buy all those different rare cloths, etc. I don't even care if you would have pay a lot more. I mean come on, all those enemies have to get/buy their cloths from somewhere. They don't go around collecting them from their enemies ("Darn, I just need to kill 5 more inquisition soldiers for those pants..."). No. They buy them or someone buys those for them. Just like our inquisitor should be able to buy them, as well. Fabrics are trading goods, made by artisans and sold by merchants. During the first playthrough it was fun discovering all things but every playthrough after that one, I just want to use any fabric I want; to make an armor from any material I want; try different combos and looks...
I hate farming (except herbs, since those are easy). To me it's extremely tedious and takes way too long. I do it because I have no choice but... *sigh* And no, I prefer not to use the CE. Same goes for schematics, as well. The Hissing Wastes merchant is a... well, a very poor choice, to be honest. Why not make another extra special merchant for rare scematics, so farming the tier 3 chests wouldn't be necessary, either. Farming chests is even more tedious than farming cloth, etc. I've actually fallen a sleep a few times while farming tier 3 chests. At its worst, it's like taking a sleeping pill.

This is an RPG which places you (the player) in the life and role of the protagantist (the inquisitior) and like in life you can't duplicate items and you can't do so in the game which was orignaly intented but by mistake you could now you can't if you do not wish to take the time and trouble to do things properly can I suggest you mod the game yourself or just SAVE your game if you don't have the time to farm things.

Console players can't MOD the game. Why should we save the game because of the stupid RNG system? Stop justifying this patch. It's lame.

So what you're basically proposing, is that the game mechanics are designed differently, depending on wheter you finished the game or not?
Looting is looting. And I accept that in the game like DA:I, where we have (quite) extensive crafting possibilities, it does take some effort. It's part of the fun and the only problem I have with it, is that blasted Dagna, who will not shut up anbut her Pinkquisition...
I sort of get it, that for players that are not too interested in exploring / crafting, this may be boring and irritating. But then, why play a game where it's part of the genre?
A dedicated merchant would be a good compromise, as per above suggestion, though I still think this option should be available only later in the game.

The only reasonable way to fix this, considering flawed things that are deep into the game's design like the horrible random loot or the inability to loot some mats like revenants hearts after closing breachs (I'm not even talking about dragon mats) is to have a dedicated merchant(s) that sell every possible mat (maybe except dragon stuff) and schematics.

This.
Randomly dropping schematics and a limited amount of mats totally destroys crafing for me. Just makes it soooo frigging frustrating. Which is sad because I like the system and am sure I would enjoy it were it not for those two things.. Please let us have a merchant!

I doubt they left it in earlier games because players liked it. It will have been because it was harder to fix in those games or they weren't making bug fixes a priority.
Its absolutely insane to demand a game company purposefully inplement bugs in their game. If you think the way mats/loot works is unbalanced, fair enough, ask for the balance to be changed, or extra options to be provided. But don't demand the game makers break the game so you can get everything for free.

Honestly I'm not a big fan of the BioWare Or the dragon age saga, but after I bought the game for my curiosity, I come to enjoy it, until I went on YouTube and learn about the dupe/gold exploits and I Really started to enjoy it more. I mean after a long days work I would hop on the game, see what I can craft up to enjoy without having to farm, it was a very unique fun tool, and because of that exploit I purchased previous dragon age games to get in to the DA world.
But now after a long day, I come home, turn on the game, try to play with the game, instead of losing my mind in crafting, now I have no choice to mindlessly farm, which makes the game kinda dull, if I wanted to waste my time farming, I would of joined my son on a life wasting MMO game like WoW or whatever mmo that's out there.
I mean make changes to the multiplayer gameplay, not the single player mode which is doing no harm except increasing the enjoyment of others. But as for now, I won't be playing the DAI game as much as before, like I want to, shoot I might have to return the game to the store.
So please BRING BACK THE GOLD/DUPE EXPLOITS for console players such as myself and others, thank you.

Agreed. Haven would definitely be too early, so I'd say after Skyhold and even then you would have to unlock them with maybe war table missions or with something else.

I think one solution could be to make the war table resource gathering missions power related.
Want more mats?, spend more power.

Josephine offers three perks that grant the player a one time delivery of 10 units of each material in a given tier. These perks are a waste of points. I craft often, and at no time have I ever thought to myself, "Gee, I could really use less than a dozen of everything!"
My suggestion then would be to redefine these perks. Rather than the perks granting the player a one time delivery, instead they would make their associated materials available for purchase through the Haven/Skyhold shopkeepers in infinite quantities.

i don't see any other reason. DAO is pretty much glitch free (and it did have some big bugs when launched), except for the exploits, DA2 as well. It's pretty easy to patch that, they just didn't bother because no one complains about it.

trading power for craft mats/schematics would be cool i think. in the end everyone has like 200 power and don't do anything with it.
