I agree with you on the rest of your post, but there were some good patches for DA2, they fixed many save import and side quests bugs. They even balanced the game pretty well. It was a bit worse for DAO and absolutely abyssmal in the case of the buggy mess DAO:A. But BW at least released the toolset back then. A little bit of Bethesda-style tho, letting the community fix your bugs and getting away with it, because you gave them a toy they could play with for years.

I forgot about DA2's bugs for the most part... simply because I quit playing it for a couple months because it would freeze so often.  Though I think DA2 only had some 2 patches on the console.   Don't even get me started on DA:OA lol  It agitated me to no end that they introduced equipment sets that you could never complete.

But either way yes we all know trying to get this non harmful exploit back is a lost cause but guess so is asking them for a merchant or revised looting/crafting system

Yes, that is as well. At times I feel that asking for any improvements or bug fixes for this game is a lost cause. I don't know why, maybe because of all those BW responses how they will look into this and fix that... Oh wait :D Srsly tho, BW either doesn't care anymore (since the game was a commercial success and won all those shiny goty awards) or they had their people moved onto different projects by EA's orders.

I am not demanding they try to re add this exploit I am saying they need to balance this game there is stuff that turns DAI into a chore to play like.
1.The minimal amount of money gained via farming/War Table Missions
2.The Crafting Materials Random drop rate
3.The War Table Missions length "15 hours seriously B-Ware"
4.The RNG Loot system in general

I believe most of my complaints were another attempt by B-Ware to add even more length to a game that was to large anyway DAI had in my opinion 80% filler content and 20% Story and thats not a good ratio at all.

They should just have merchants who sell all materials, that way you don't need an exploit but just some gold Same deal with schematics

If they do that,I personally think that Josephine/Cullen/Leliana should get us more money than 100 per hour.

First time I played the game fair and square without any cheating. Now on my 2nd and subsequent playthroughs, I just want to take it easy and rather not spent hours farming for materials. As much as I enjoy the game, the patch pretty much killed any plans I had of finishing the game multiple times.

Bring back the exploit (I always viewed it as a feature since Dragon Age Origins), so I'm going to keep playing this game, and it's not starting to collect dust, once I am done with my 2nd playthrough.

I'd be happy with a merchant later in the game. Maybe one that only sold tier 3/4 mats in some sort of rotation. AND the ability to salvage all the useless stuff that we get that just gets sold back to a merchant or destroyed anyway. That ability is already in MP.

If the looting system in this game remains the piece of shite that it is, then duping should be back in. The RNG is atrocious. What's next ? Microtransactions to have decent loot in single player ? Knowing EA, this might be a possibility.

That or we should be allowed to use all that power and influence that we gather to get crafting materials.

Should also be able to get schematics this way as well.  But only getting 1/2 items from salvaging is kind of ridiculous and to get a single of each item from it on top of that...  Getting ores is easy enough... but some of the other materials are just beyond ridiculous.  Since the only T4 materials are obtained from dragons they should either drop it all together, or make it so dragons can respawn.  But even then throwing a merchant in the game would be pointless.  You make minimal money from the War Table and even less from the random gear you may loot from the random enemies.

Since DA:O money has always been hard enough to get unless you use some sort of exploit.  Though the problems weren't necessarily the money in DA:O so much as the price of items, which has continued to be a problem in DA:OA, DA2 and DA:I.

Hey if I had to waste my time farming then SO SHOULD YOU!!!!!!

Not fair that I have to put in 200 hours but not you.

Why would you ever fix a single player glitch that was not even a problem? That glitch made it a lot easier for people who dont care about farming and just go straight through the game. Now I don't want to do another playthrough anymore. Ive beaten the game already.

So your point is that you don't want to put the time and effort into playing the game and want to use exploits...right no fixing problems is good.

I'm signing this like a petition. Consider this my signature on a petition (of sorts) to support bringing back item duping so that we, the gamers, do not need to mindlessly farm for hours on end to craft the gear we want.

The cheating argument makes no sense as long as flask of fire+thousand cuts and the power amulet chest exploit is still in the game.

Or the fact that this "cheat" has been in previous installments of DA games, Bioware knew about it, left it in the previous DA for the entire life cycle of the game unpatched, then made sure it made a return in this game, etc...

It almost is like they meant for it to be in this game and then changed there mind for some mysterious reason... hmmmm.  <_<

You all do realize that reading through this looks like "LET ME CHEAT BIOWARE, I WANT TO ELIMINATE CHALLENGE AND ACTUALLY SPENDING TIME IN THE GAME! I WANT TO CHEAT!"

You can still do that..  In fact it's faster to just flask of fire + thousand cuts everything than it is to bother with duping.

I disagree.

To me it reads like this: "Okay Bioware, you knew about this exploit. You have left it in your past DA games and we've all got accustomed to using it. It was like an unspoken agreement that we and you (Bioware) are cool with item duping. When it showed up in this game, again, we were all pretty stoked! Then, for some unfathomable reason, out of nowhere, you decided to patch it this time after having it in your games for years?! WTF?!?"

At least.. that is how I see it.

Is this the thing where if you opened a container that contained, lets say, one of those amulets that gave you a talent point and only picked that and left, let's say, a golden necklace behind and left the map and came back the magical amulet would be back? Cuz if they removed that I'mma sulk.

No, this is the glitch where if you farmed at least two (stackable) versions of the same crafting material (i.e. Silverite), you could duplicate it as many times as you wanted (for crafting awesome armor and weapons) in any shop/store GUI.

This circumvented having to farm materials hours upon end to craft great weapons and armor. Plus, you could use it to boost your money indefinitely as well.

Considering your argument is horribly flawed.  Crafting gear does not break the game or make it that much easier.  It is a minor aspect of the game that has very little impact, especially when you consider how hard it is to get good schematics for materials.  The challenge is still there regardless of how a person wants to play the game.  It is not like you are able to craft a limit break weapon that is magically going to let you one hit every boss or high end monster in the game.  Especially when you consider that the enemies scale to your level.

not to mention you had to farm your ass off to get two of the same version of a fade-touched item so you can dupe it

This also!! ^^

I would farm forever and get the non gen guard on hit version of fade-touched silverite lol! When I finally got two of the category of fade-touched I wanted it felt like one hell of an accomplishment lmao. That is no joke.  ;)

Yes. It does look like that.

But only if you're reading selectively and entirely disregarding the posts where players are suggesting perfectly reasonable alternative fixes.

Meh tbh there is barely any challenge in the game anyway outside of a few fights if you have even rudimentary knowledge of combo's and how skills synergise with each other.

After spending 8 hours trying to get 2 pieces of Fade Touched cloth I can easily say I want duping back.

In a game that can still go over 100 hours with duping I don't want another 50-100 hours of farming to be added onto that tyvm...

.

As much as I enjoy the game it's loot and spawning system is not implemented well enough to allow for easy farming, it seems to go out of it's way to penalise you for trying instead...
