Pff, "old pros" - I still have trouble refining my Katari on threatening.

hah! I didn't say old pro's couldn't suck. Look at me. 3000 hrs in ME3MP and I still suck at soloing Gold w/ anything but the Krogan Vanguard.

I'm thinking more of people who can give hints, tips and a few relevant pointers to people who have just picked up the game and started. Doesn't mean we're good. Just a little knowledgeable...well, we at least have a little bit of a clue.

I'm not surprise to see PC players dwindle, considering that the game was obviously designed for consoles.

Aww c'mon, don't speak for all PC players, you make them sound like cry babies.

I have absolutely no clue what I'm doing. :) And I've been playing since launch and have been above Threatening 4 times. Actually, that's 4 wins. Say 6 times.

My advice for newbies? Stay close to your Keeper because Barrier. No Keeper on your team? Be the Keeper. Already have a mage on your team? Who cares? Be the Keeper.

I posted @ 8 PM east coast and pc was at 92225. It is now 11 Pm east coast and Pc is at 95158.

That's like around 3000 in 3 or 1000 per hour.

Since than  out of 15 pug games, I've only had  2 games without anyone dying or going afk with level 1 char. (Pubbing obviously)

I don't think people on pc are trying at all. (Most people)

Edit: PS4

I'm seeing more and more level 1s getting kicked from Routine, myself included. Its becoming an actual problem where level 15+ just want to run Routine and kick out anyone seemingly new, even if it just a promoted char

One guy (lvl 18 lego) refused to ready up today because I wouldn't kick a level 1 archer. We kicked him instead and the archer and I pushed through Elven Ruins. Chatted a bit.

He's legit new to the game and picked it up because he heard from a friend most the bugs were patched. Took his first match to a victory seeing as how I can solo Routine on a level 1 Necro anyway. He went down a couple times but never entered the fade.

This is a good sign imo. New players are joining up. Now if only the elitist "hurr durr we has to run level 20 lobby to beats lolroutine" pricks would quit kicking them.

Seeing stuff like this is irritating.  I myself was subjected to getting kicked from Routine rooms when I was a newbie/lowbie starting out.  I almost gave up on DAMP at one point, but for some reason I stuck with it.  Glad I did now, but there was a time I was iffy about it.

But yeah, I like seeing the new people in Routine when I have freshly promoted my toons.  I'll try to slack off on killing everything to let them have a crack at it and only turn up the violence if it looks like they are struggling. ;)

I actually had a pretty dominant run playing katari...on routine. But mostly a lot of barrier elementalist and a pinch of keeper and katari.

Kinom, the Asari Huntress was pretty good at soloing, if I remember right, I got the gold solo acheivements with a hit and run character, just can't remember which one.

PC is 97813 currently. So yeah, looks like we'll reach 100k, but probably not 125k in 5 hours. It might be close, but I'm not holding my breath.

Edit: Oh and where the Xbone and 360 trending as well? The only way for me to keep track is checking this thread.

So this means more focus should be on console DLC and making the MP more console friendly ;)

As North America has headed or soon heads to bed, an update:

PS3 and PS4 nailed it, well done :D .

  • PC looks like it will come in at around 105,000/125,000, so close, but no cigar...  :o
  • I've seen no recent report from Xbox 360, but they look likely to come it at around 24,000/30,000 :o.
  • Xbox One remains in the game, but it's a very close thing

So. For Xbox One, split target for the last 5 hours:

  • 5hrs to go: 115,700 [116,000 done] at 12am PST - 3am EST - 8am GMT - 9am CET
  • 4hrs to go: 117,500 at 1am PST - 4am EST - 9am GMT - 10am CET
  • 3hrs to go: 119,400 at 2am PST - 5am EST - 10am GMT - 11am CET
  • 2hrs to go: 121,250 at 3am PST - 6am EST - 11am GMT - 12pm CET
  • 1hr to go: 123,100 at 4am PST - 7am EST - 12pm GMT - 1pm CET
  • Done: 125,000 at 5am PST - 8am EST - 1pm GMT - 2pm CET

After two weekly challenges with too high goals in a row it wouldn't surprise me if more players lost interest in even trying this on PC.

I can't say that goal this time was 'too high'. 125k is acceptable.

It's just sometimes one has to waste >20min on connecting attempts for a 15min match. I don't think I ever had a connection with the 1rst attempt this weekend.  Not to mention several annoying host migrations, 1 crashing to the desktop (connecting-loading-loading-boom!) and plenty of routine connection errors.

Region restrictions& no dedicated servers must go away, imo. Even one of those two things is annoying enough, and two of them combined....*sigh*.

PC: 98474

I think Biower should have made this challenge in a way, that any "immortal" player in party counts towards goal.

Now,we got only frustration.I finished challenge on Routine, then played as usual on Perilous.

This has been suggested a few times.  The problem they've been having on DAMP is that the goals they set are so frustrating, and in some cases so ambiguously worded, that a lot of people just don't even bother to try them.  The fact that you'd have to drastically alter the way you play to the point of the game not being fun anymore (solo/routine runs) just makes it worse.

PC is just barely going to break 4 stars before the event ends.  The goal was very achievable, but a lot of people didn't want to grind it out because it wasn't any fun.

I disagree. It was fun when people really played the challenge. On PC, it seems that most people just don't play for it. I had a small chat with a player who was "all guns out" and was always far ahead of the group, dying every round or so. He hadn't even read the challenge.

But sometimes, you have a PuG when everybody sticks together, waiting for the others in order to complete the challenge, and these are fun runs.

That's sort of my point...  The community goals are meant to attract more people to MP.  This means, BY DESIGN, you're going to be bringing in players who have no, or at least significiantly less, MP experience.  Setting a goal where a player like that becomes a liability creates exactly what we've seen this weekend: Tons of low level characters getting kicked just for being low leveled, lots of solo/routine runs and the complaints about how that kind of game play isn't any fun, and veteran players running routine effectively solo, skipping chests and not giving the rest of the party time to even catch up...

It creates an evironment where even the veterans aren't having much fun, and someone new to the MP?  Seems like it would convince them to turn around and go back the way they came...

Biower should stop with these no-dying challenges. They are ok for veterans but not so much for weekend warriors.

Come on, Xbox One, damnit!

If owning this console taught us one thing, it's we can endure ANYTHING!

Use your obvious hereditary masochism to fuel your rage!

You can do it!

*sings* Won't get knocked down! 7,532 more times again! You're never gonna keep us down! Won't get knocked down! [...]

Hey, I heard the Arcane Warrior is a top secret pro class visible for awesome, better people only! Haha, I bet you even can't play with this class and impress chicks/dudes because of merely doing so in the process!

Generic motivational exclamation!

I only refined a couple of kits for gold soloing - mostly specific ones I grew attached to because they offer some unique gameplay (N7 classes, Asari, Krogan) - the important part is soloing with a kit you enjoy, because eventually you'll have to commit to it for the next 60 minutes (at least I have to, lol).

I think the main problem is that there is not much point in doing even the personal challenge. You get some prestige and basically a large chest. It's not something you look forward to. For me completing a Perilous game is more exciting than completing this challenge.

That was, any 'immortal' medal for the community goal, all 'immortal' - for the personal. Poor wording of the goals is...well, poor.

Oh dear, pace is dropping...

North Americans are in bed.

Europeans are at work.

1,400 adrift with 3 hrs to go.

Heck, I work from home so can peek at progress, but Xbox One is going down...

Well,as for personal goal it says "Agent Goal: Complete 6 matches without any agent in the party being knocked down.",I understood that the same applies for the community goal.

But then,I am not native English speaker,so maybe I just got it wrong.
