The chest is no big deal really, it's something fun to do at the weekend.
Why do people watch sport and get excited? Same sort of thing.
PS is scoring about 20% more on both generations vs. Xbox/PC.
Had some fun this weekend helping people not go down
If I said "Why play a computer game?", then I would understand your point. I think you would acheive more in the game during the time you spent on the challenge if you didnt focus on the challenge. In the end all you'll get is a 1200 chest so why bother, which is my argument. If you are playing for a certain acheivement you are also limiting your available characters and skills you can use. If you need these "to easy to be a challenge"-challenges to have fun, then are you really having fun in the first place?
Anyway, its not my place to argue - people do whatever they want. I just dont understand why people make a fuzz about what is essentially a timewasting 1200 chest.
Because it's a goal. BioWare waved a flag in my face saying "bet you can't do this" so I wanted to do it. Then again, I am an Aries, so it really doesn't matter if the prize is a large chest, a piece of candy, or absolutely nothing other than the internal satisfaction of knocking a goal out of the ballpark.
Also, it's helping me branch out on characters and playstyles. I'm typically a sword-n-board tank warrior at heart, but the past two weekend challenges have seen me trying Keeper for the first time to keep people alive with Barrier... had not played her before then... and, wow, hey, I kinda like it! Something new, not my usual speed, but have found myself enjoying it.
I'm sure I'd have played Keeper eventually, but the weekend challenges sped up that process. The ME3MP weekend challenges did the same thing with me, opened me up more to different characters/weapons/playstyles/difficulty levels.
Bioware waved a flag in everyone's face to get them to play more and eventually perhaps spend more money. What do you mean by Aries? The challenge isnt really a challenge either, so you dont really feel like you are being challenged. Besides, a single guy working on the challenges for the community will have very little impact as the completion number is such a high number.
When it comes to playing different characters then fair enough. I'd say though that this particular challenge is more limiting than it is expanding peoples playstiles. I can't really relate to that statement either, as I have at all times played and had fun with all the characters, all the way from the beginning.
Bottom line is again, people do whatever they want. I still dont see the point in stressing, or complaining about the challenges. The reward has been terrible (or atleast arguably a waste of time) all along but atleast with the weapon challenges they were a bit quicker to acheive, which ment that you get a quicker 1200 chest. Now it takes a lot more time. Especially silly if the free chest is why you do it.
Anyway, spent to much time on this. Moving along.
