I got a bet going on what caused the Red Templar Commander glitch. There's real money involved. What caused it (random BioWare Dev)? I cut you in on a piece of the action if win.

Pure speculation:

Zone 5 normally ends when all enemies are dead. There is/was also some kind of timeout mechanism to wait X time after the last enemy dies, then move to the 'match complete' stuff (flag spin, voiceover, etc.).

However RTC has a lengthy death animation that lasted longer than X. By the time the game registered that RTC was actually dead, the timeout had expired, and the 'match complete' stuff never got triggered.

Like I said, pure speculation, but if I win the bet you can buy me a Large chest. Heh.

I hate that guy.  I just keep beating on him after he goes down in fear that he is going to pull a Michael Myers and get back up.

My own little theory has to do with his HP. When you kill the RTC he still has two thousand HP left, at which point he drinks the potion and dies. I think the game trips out because he technically still has hp left so, RTC glitch fest.

Great. After that I'm going to start beating on him as well. Michael Myer's freaked me out as a kid. Him and Jason.

Wouldn't that only then trigger if the RTC was last to go down? I've had the glitch several times after the commander has died midway through the round.

It does seem to me that the RTC often glitches again if the host leaves and the wave resets. It doesn't always happen, but maybe there's a clue there. Or maybe it's just bad luck on my part.

I have noticed since the patch a couple of red Templar games have successfully completed with a red dot still on the map. The second time I could see it was a horror, but didn't catch what the first one was. I wonder if that's part of the fix?

Even before the 1.04 patch i've seen horrors stand around the map as we fade to game complete screen.  Methinks the process of crating a horror removes a warrior from the pool of enemies to kill, and while it does physically add a horror i dont think it remembers to say "ok, now they need to kill 1 extra horror to complete"

Pure speculation, but thats what this thread is about anyway.

I've spotted Horrors disappearing after the Knight that created them (I'm assuming) was killed. The couple of time I've noticed this, a Knight was the "last" enemy alive.

The RTC also has better hair than any of my characters and I'm very unhappy about that....and a more bad ass voice  "Those were my men you killed!!!"

I thought it had to do with Red Shadows not dying properly when dying from an elemental status? It's basically one of the key drop bugs but with no key to drop.

Er, right.

I really don't have any idea what I'm talking about, but it's fun to speculate.

Is this a console thing?  I'm on PC and never had that particular bug.

I'm not sure. The PC'ers were raging harder about the key glitch than the RTC glitch. It was the one when Zone 5 wouldn't complete for the Templar faction.

This bet is still open btw BioWare. Help me out and I may toss in a glitch you don't know about yet.
