LOL. I actually do... it's unique. Shows she doesn't give a toss... you don't have to be all prim and proper to be attractive, and she proves that.

Well love, that is all very subjective because I have had no problems with any lesbian romance characters, have witnessed no such "neglect", thought Traynor's "misogyny-lesbian" scenes were hot (though I was kinda grossed out when she said "I like something solid in my hands, so I'll give you that)

What are you even talking about? Regardless, seeing lesbian characters portrayed in sexual situations with men makes me feel really uncomfortable, since it's so overrepresented in the media. TV shows use "lesbian sleeping with a man (and loving it)" trope all the time (I think about 8 times just last year), there is a movie in theaters about Al Pacino turning much younger lesbian right now ("The Humbling"), so that showcase of sexually teasing male characters by Traynor felt like spit on the face. I don't know any out lesbian who hasn't been sexually harassed for being a lesbian. I myself am rape survivor because one man thought that he could "turn" me. All I'm asking Bioware is the same respect as showed to gay men, nothing more.

Now with the tragic Dalish break up thing... when two people are incompatible with severe belief systems (religious and what not) it isn't such an unconceivable idea, to break up... it's pretty normal.

Yet she doesn't have such problem with character of any other race, she lets them believe any incompatible things they want, she expects only elf character to denounce her whole heritage. And the biggest problem is how she does it, expressing complete lack of empathy and care for the woman she's supposed to be in love with.

He-she comments... that's not even set in stone. My perception was she was just relaying info to you that she had overheard.. there isn't really any hard evidence that she was discriminating.

If that was true, there would be quotation marks, and there weren't any. IMO it was obvious she was just talking about what she found out about people, and she compared being trans or cross-dressing with beating a servant or inbreeding.

Yeah, that should be a masouchist challenge.
If I don't like her I don't do her. As it is in real life.

1. Very sorry to hear that, however, during ME and going on the footage I saw on YouTube in regards to male Shep/Traynor, I get that's sexualising to please the male hetero, etc. But I think you could do well to maybe separate lesbians as attractive to men, and the idea of sexual harassment?

Only saying this because men are naturally attracted to women and believe me, it's gross to be hit on and such but it doesn't always equate to sexual harassment, it becomes as such if the male persists after you've made it quite clear that you're not interested. They can't help it if they find you attractive... such as myself, who may find a straight girl attractive, cannot help it.

I dunno... I get your point, but I just didn't feel offended or uncomfortable by the Traynor "fan-service" thing. At best, I thought it was just BW's way of appealing to male gamers who play as femShep wanting to romance another woman...

2. This is true. She doesn't have an issue with any other race and its heritage. It has been well and truly established that she dislikes elven culture... that's her belief. We all have our beliefs... in fact, you and I are arguing our beliefs right here and now, and that is our right, as it is hers... it's who she is, she clearly cannot handle being with somebody with a differing belief system that is so drastic for her.

3. But think about the setting, you're in a fancy palace with a bunch of nobles. She was listening in on scandalous secrets and gossip, that if is revealed to an audience of nobles, would be social status suicide. Regardless of whether you or I think it should be accepted or not, that's the mentality... Quotation isn't provided because she isn't exactly repeating word for word what they're saying, but conveying it in her own way? Dunno if that makes sense to you or not, but anyway...

They could have described her as an ignorant, stubborn, self serving wanna be human who is really an elf but is too stupid and stubborn to look in a mirror. They'd have been right and, I'd have known not to recruit her form the get go. Once was one time too many for me.

I know some like her but, unless they change her and make her listing and, think rather than react based on her selfish wants, she won't be in my party.

As for her armor she is clearly an elf who hates being an elf so won't wear anything elf. She is a wanna be human.

This analysis, spot on from my perspective.

I never stated that such portrayal equates sexual harassment. I said how it makes me feel given my and my friends history and cultural context it's placed in. It's not merely about straight men finding women who happen to be lesbians attractive. IIRC Joss Whedon made fun of that in Buffy with Xander's reaction to Willow and Tara yet he managed to not disrespect lesbians while doing so.

The fuss is about the fact Bioware actively sexually objectified the lesbian character to make her a fanservice for straight men. They made the lesbian keep getting semi-naked around the man, focus the camera on her "charms" while doing so with man Shep glaring at her suggestively, and they also made it evident she knew what she's doing ("eyes up here").

For reminder, here's scene:

Spoiler

I don't know if you're aware of that, but they did something somewhat similar in DAI. Empress Celene has been confirmed to be lesbian by Patrick Weekes (who happens to be also Traynor's writer) on Twitter few months ago. And guess what we find in her bedroom while searching for something to blackmail her. Naked, chained to her bed man, who tells you that empress seduced him and beguiled to share with her important informations about her rival. Of course whatever she did with him before he ended up in that position (which is left for viewer's imagination) she did to get those informations, but again Bioware puts lesbian in sexual situation with a man because they apparently thought it would be hilarious. Despite the fact she's an empress and obviously had unlimited possibilities to handle it any other way that didn't involve doing any sexual stuff with a man.

Some people spend far too much time being pointlessly angry and hateful towards fictional characters.

Nothing, I was just wondering about strange double standards about it, as Cole wasn't made a romance option for this very reason, while Sera has been made one, even though she appears to be in similar situation.

Cole wasn't made a romance option for various reasons and trying to trying to compare Cole and Sera with age?

What?

Er...well I assume by "cripple" you mean mentally handicapped (though sexually offending anyone is bad), though this isn't the case with Sera, and...I dunno. I guess it pays not to be serious round these parts.

I took it as anyone with a handicap, whether it be physical, mental, etc. But yeah, sexually offending anyone is bad.
