My point is that you are not actually modding anything by taking advantage of a glitch. The lack of mod support on consoles is a separate issue, and quite frankly, a trivial one that console gamers seldom bring up anymore because by now they are aware that consoles aren't designed for mod support. All you want is the continued existence of a glitch that lets you cheat. There is no modding involved.

The option exists to let users manually check for updates instead of relying entirely on an automatic process. Virtually every computer program under the sun lets you do this.

Fine, I can't "mod" but that's kind of the point. We can't mod so we can't take advantage of the benefits. Then they removed our only option.

You must not play this on PS4 because it has the option to check for updates but there's no point of it because it downloads updates automatically and you can't turn it off...read the thread man

It only downloads updates automatically once the PS4 is put into Rest Mode or is turned off and then turned back on again. When you install a game on PS4, the update file doesn't begin to download until after the game is launched. Checking for updates manually before going into a newly installed game makes more sense than launching a game and having to wait for it to update and then restart. The option exists out of practicality.

Except the game with download and install the patch in the background. It just won't load in your current game until after you are done.
Maybe not all software does this but all of mine I own do.
I think the PS4 has a massive section of it's processing power devoted to virtual memory because it sure can handle a lot at once. At least mine does. I have an opening day PS4 and never once had a frame drop. Even in DA:I when I'm blowing crap up everywhere. No PC but certain Alienware builds have given me that.
Idk why I kept going...just rambling

It's an option for people to download updates before they start an application. That's all.

Settings > System > Automatic Downloads > Application Update Files

And being able to use exploits on systems has everything to do with there being no mod capability. Changing your stance to exploits not being mods, while a true statement does not change that.
