So basically he admits their games are being dumbed down. I wonder what certain people on these boards, that have been denying this bit, has to say about this?
EA feels their games are too hard

(to Honourable Bigot) Okay, now I really want a gif of a bunch of people starting a fray with the Scuttlebutt, Feedback and Story names as their heads and going; "Oh, you came into the wrong thread, motherf***er!"
In addition: Have the Mods be the police officers.
LOL.. and don't worry about the mods. They're already doing that.

I assume that you deliberately misquoted him in your title?
Even with the full quote in the article, there is nowhere near enough context to properly evaluate what he was talking about.

One day this company took over the NBA, and they decided that the game was too difficult so they lowered the hoops to two feet above the court and made them ten feet wide. They also decided to take away the dribble rules so that you can run with the ball wherever you want, and removed all physical contact from the game...
...and yet to their surprise, despite their efforts to simplify the game and open it up to everyone, no one came to watch anymore...

That's rather insulting to all players, new to the game or not. If I buy a new game, I know I am going to take a while to get the hang of it. If I wanted something to play to kill time and not have to think, I could play Candy Crush. ![]()

And at the same time developer with 20 years experience can't figure out how to program proper controls for platform he is developing for. Weird times indeed.

Also, every game is going to be a social game in the future? Please let's not. Social games are fun but not every game has to be one.
This dude is out of touch.

Candy Crush is actually quite difficult...probably way too hard for the target audience referred to in this case...

Did this design philosophy affect the making of dragon age 2 and the inquisition?

What makes you think that people who are willingly denying reality will stop denying reality because of reality ? ![]()
And I would guess that these EA guys don't just admit they dumb down games - they are fiercely proud of it! ![]()

There are not nearly enough people here freaking out about the "every game is going to be a social game" comment.
NO, NO SOCIAL ELEMENTS IN MY RPGS!!! NEVER!!!! ![]()
Honestly, I'm less worried about the difficulty thing, because there are always multiple levels. As long as "normal" and maybe "hard" are both ridiculously easy for people to pick up, I'm sure EA won't care what Bioware do with the "nightmare" difficulty.

BUTTON AWESOME
EA is becoming too risk averse and it shows in their recent entries, especially DAI.
*Edit: ...except they allowed OMGBOOBIES back in the game again. I'll givem credit for finally getting over their fear of FAUX news.

Well... this forum is divided in sects, you see.
Most people who argue against this hang out in Scuttlebutt and Story, Campaign and Characters while the people who aren't so keen on the game hang out in feedback.Occasionally one will venture into another's territory and start a gang war...
Don't' forget all the rabble-rousers over at the Multiplayer combat strategy section. Can't find any of them? Oh wait, they were all banned for rabble-rousing...
