i never used any exppoit, nor did i "farm" anything whatsoever. I played straight up, only doing missions, exploring, and fighting.. Between vendor, and reward i had more gold than i could ever spend... And multiple stacks of every kind of mats.. Ofcourse, i actually played the game, as opposed to rushing through. I dont understand why anyone would want to dupe, or exploit when the entire game is already so trivial?!

Dumb design choice. One of many.

Nobody wants to pay money for an item crafted by the herald of Andraste? Sound logic right there.

What about in order to craft something that looks nice and has useful stats at the same time, since there is no dye option? Yes, when you play the game completionist style you will end up like lvl 25 with lvl 20 influence and more money than you could use. But crafting mats? For example there are less revenants in the game than are needed to craft even 1 rune, how mental is that :D

Yes the game is easy and you don't need to even craft a single item in order to finish it just as easily, but for me the crafting system was actually fun, one of the best I've seen in a SP game and it just seems silly to me not to be able to utilize it to its full potential without countless hours of grinding or without glitching. And I don't know about you, but even when I cleared all the zones, did all side quests, killed countless snouflers there were still some fade-touched materials I haven't even looted once. It took me like 400 silverite to see my first fade-touched silverite ore. Am I now supposed to harvest 400 more to see the 2nd one if I god-forbid want to craft the similar item again?

There is absolutely no joy for me in doing boring fetch quests in lifeless boring zones or collecting shards if my party still looks the same as they did at lvl 10. There is no joy in doing them in stylish outfits either, but at least you look nice :)

Agreed.. And i found, very early on, that the stats made very little difference.. Armor, sure, makes an impact.. but all those other little %, or minor stat upgrades made very minimal difference.. I always crafted for looks.. Well, not always.. At first I was going for maximum stats, but, as stated.. It made very little difference.. Cassandra in all pink armor/shield/helm! (She was my Romance, though a Qunari, Mage with a Human, Seeker made no sense lorewise) Its what i ended up doing for the last 20 levels.. Hell, several of the better T3 schematics i couldnt use.. Heavy Dwarven set, heavy Elven set, etc.. My only dwarf was a rogue, and my only Elf was a mage.. Though Sera is clearly an Elf(Knife-ear), shes marked as Human!

You could use the Legion of the Dead set schematic on Varric. If you craft heavy armor from silverite, every class can use it :) Yeah, Sera not able to use elf-trained armor is BS imo.

Well, stats make a difference, but it is a difference between already OP characters and super OP characters. Useful masterworks tho (guard on hit, hidden blades chance on hit, more dmg per nearby enemy) make huge difference compared to a lot of crappy ones.

I just don't really get why masterworks should have such a low chance to drop in a SP game, other then to artificially prolong the gameplay time, since the main story is really short compared to everything else BW has ever done.

I had so many Masterwork mats it wasnt funny.. Or do you mean schematics?

If so,  actually prefer this method, as it means never the same loot every playthrough.. Though, you also risk never seeing somehing you want.. However, if you dont go onto a wiki, you wont know your missing it, and it will be all the sweeter when you do get it! This kind of rng is good, imHo!

*shrugs* I just sell the purple gear. I forgot what it was, but one sold for over 2k. The red headed step children of my team get the hand-me-downs.

Off topic: is there such a thing as fade-touched Pyrophite?

http://dragonage3.wi...uched Pyrophite - 2 of them actually, but I think you can achieve the same effect with bloodstone (at least the dmg one), although it probably will have different color.

Nope, I meant actual mats, since even though I killed countless of enemies and harvested tons of sh*t there were many of them I haven't looted even once.

Well this approach can be applied to many things :D "what you don't know can't hurt you" or "ignorance is bliss" or how those sayings go :D I'd prefer to check the wiki tho, so I can know how much the game has screwed me over, so I can factor it into the decision about buying BW games in the future :D
