I feel like I live in a completely different universe than Mr. Darrah.
Well... you actually played the game. Simple.
Never played the B.G series myself, so can't comment on that 'return to form'. But as for DA:O/2, my god... As has been said way too many times on these forums, i'm sure; "If it's not broken, don't fix it!"...
What i've been saying to people regarding DA:I is "When a game gets to the point where you think, you/I, a regular everyday person who doesn't know a single thing about game develoment, could walk into their company and make suggestions that would make the game much, much better, then something's wrong."
I can't recall a game put out by Bioware that's won so many GOTY awards. Bioware has to take advantage of the positive buzz around their brand, which they haven't had since really circa ME2, and even then it wasn't at this level.
Right, a buggy game that won't even run on some consoles is "a return to form"?
If that's true then I'm the Empress of Orlais!
Well, you got the Empress part down already. ![]()

This is true. They have to accentuate the positive, whether people agree with that view or not.
If there are things they'd have wished they could have done a bit better, they're not going to mention those things. At least not today, perhaps in the lead up to DA4 they will.
Just how deluded is this guy? He seems to be going for some kind of record.

EA put this game out. Bioware is just a logo.
I agree. The problem is that the story and the open world feel disconnected. It's like they tried to mount a Bioware plot on a Bethesda chassis and they don't fit together quite right.
Except they somehow missed the entire point of TES games. Not just an open world, but an open character creation system that allows for variable, flexible builds and tactics. DAO almost had that right, DA2 and DAI totally drop the ball.
*laughs & laughs & laughs*
GOTY of 2014?
Yeah! It was super easy because ALL the other AAA titles totally fu**ed up and released crappy mess! It is NOT the best game of the year! He is the LESS WORST!!!!!!!
As a Xbox360 player, I have horrible cutscenes where each texture popup after every change of point of view, I have the obligation to maintain a disc in the reader making overheating my console, I have very very small allcaps white fonts on grey background to destroy my eyes, I have almost no music and banter, I still have freezing like hell and gamedestroyer glitches... The very first PS2 games are more entertaining that this game...
I paid the same amount of money that the PS4/XboxOne and PC players but I am totally ignored.
Congratulation Bioware! You lost a customer and win a Troll! Now, I'm going to pollute each and every forums about your games to say again and again what you have done to your fans. They must not forget that you hate them by the bottom of your heart!
Was this guy even involved with the BG games or Kotor? Just curious.

Pretty much this.
Not that I know of Rawgrim, his IMDB only lists him as working on Dragon Age, but it has been said he was the inspiration for a lot of Bioware's RPG so its possible

Well they aren't making rpgs anymore, that's for sure.
*Sigh*
How many times I have to state that drugs are never good?..
Bioware keeps getting these all awards and every game magazine praises them and ignores how buggy the game is and how fed up players are with broken versions of the game. Game shouldn't get year end award just cause it's good in some platforms, it shouldn't be also mentioned that it has poopy portings to other platforms than new gen consoles that don't really work. If the game was represented as it's now in PS3 it would never have won anything.
Well they aren't making rpgs anymore, that's for sure.
You may not like DA:I, but it is an RPG.

They'll trash DA:I as they trashed DA2 and DA:O prior to releasing the sequel. It's a well-established pattern that I'm sure at this point is just out of the EA PR playbook.
EA put this game out. Bioware is just a logo.
Bioware is a brand. Assuming it's not a wholly-owned subsidiary and is just a EA division, that is, it's absolutely a brand that merits protecting at the very least. By "X" is important. It's why say, "from the Writers of Breaking Bad" will garner more attention than "from the Writers of Masturbating Sock Puppets II".

And you have been defending DA:O, DA2, and DA:I blindly for all those years. Oddly enough you now point out "negative stuff" from older games, to make the most recent one look better.
How much do they pay you for this? You seem to pop into every thread that happens to be critical of something, and try to derail it from the topic by bringing up older games made by different people.

I'm not defending anything, and I have no idea what brought on this completely uninvited personal attack, particularly since I was criticizing Bioware for their general practice of slagging whatever game they just released to build up their newest sequel.
As to your personal attack, the only thing that's ever changed is that the forum hysteria shifts away from the old game to the new game, and so all of a sudden the same taste I've had makes me argue the other side. I've always liked the same things. What I loathe, however, is the absolutely and rank hypocrisy that some on this forum have when it comes to a new release. Do you hate fetch quests? Awesome! Me too. But I hated the design when it was in DA:O and covered up by cutscenes as much as when it was in DA:I and not covered up by cutscenes, and pretending that the same ass quest design that Bioware used for the past decade is somehow different in DA:I is nonsense. Same with the way people in DA2 kept slagging on the game offering the exact same form of empty flavour choice that DA:O and KoTOR had, and that DA:I just cut outright.

I wasn't attacking, I was asking.
Wait, you can't install it to disk? O_o That can't be right?
(By the way, the no/little music isn't a bug - there's supposed to be very little bg music, apart from main quests and boss battles and such. Not trying to minimize your problems, I totally agree that past-gen players got a bad deal, just pointing out that this is one of the few things that actually isn't broken...)
On Xbox360, you have two discs. One to install on the hard drive, the other you must keep in the reader.
About the music, I'm talking about ambient music that begins when you enter a place and fadeout almost immediatly. For example, I have no music at all at haven, Skyhold or Val royaux. I even don't have any bard song. About the boss battle music, they begin AFTER the battle and end quickly, in a matter of seconds... If that is how the game is designed, they need to go back to school to begin from scrap again!

If everyone who says nice things about Dragon Age is a shill, then my cheque is really late
.
(Dear BioWare: I accept payment in Australian dollars, Steam credit or action figures. Or ponies.)
