I think if they focused just on pc and not on all platforms much more could have been done. What do I know Im just a PC gamer that gets stuck with crappy ports on average 5 times a year.
Could DOI have been better if it was JUST a PC game and not a port?

It'd probably end up like the upcoming Pillars of Eternity game. Fingers crossed that it's awesome.
AAA games have to be sold on all platforms to get the big budgets. Hell, even I know that.

I don't want anything cut, but it doesn't have to be so blah towards the end.

Consoles ruined PC gaming. Before consoles became the number one Christmas toy, PC games were awesome, most still played and remembered to this day.

I really don't care if they put it on other systems or not. But the pc game should be a lot more than just better graphics. There should be care put into every aspect of the game. Look at diablo series, delays for years, but you cant argue about the amount of content you get and keep getting, and that's a game that can be finished in its entirety in 10 hours and yet people play all 3 games over and over and over and over.

there is nothing wrong with console gamers, there mostly for people that don't want to put the time or money into a system when they can buy an all in one. But those of us that like to put the time and money into it we should be rewarded with what the pc industry has to offer. If the main focus was on pc the game would definitely be better. But of course its all about money, I guess that's why ea keeps putting out crap. Inquisition is a good game with many flaws, but no matter what EA sucks. sorry but the truth hurts.

I don't. Finished the D1 demo, and that was it for me.

I think Duke Nukem Forever serves as the cautionary tale of the original developers not having publishing deadlines.
I guess on the flip side KoTOR 2 is a tale of devs having too tight a deadline.

Oh poor poor PC gamers. Let me go get my world's smallest violin for the platform that gets far more cRPGs designed for it than consoles, especially in 2014.

Spending more and putting more time into the hardware does not really entitle anyone to a better game. Whether or not it's a better experience is pretty subjective, but the only thing that should end up as a result of this would be the ability to have the game's graphics be presented in as high a level of detail as the developers intended. Obviously, it would be ideal if the interface is more accommodating for this platform (I cannot comment on DA:I's situation myself), but this doesn't necessarily make any game better or worse either. But, the basic game itself should be no different no matter what platform it's on. Other than that, there's mods, but no one is really entitled to that either.

Thinking any game would improve if it just dumped all the console variations and was only developed for PC is incredibly naive.
Console gaming did more for PC gaming than any other factor in the last decade. Simply by expanding the market for videogames and making the entire industry more profitable, everyone including the PC faction is getting more and better games each year.
Having simplified games, or games that feel like ports (or in some cases really just are lazy ports) has NOTHING to do with consoles. The only issue here is the stupid financial system of quarterly reports that makes investments into games incredibly short-term focused, leading to punishing deadlines for developers and games that release as barebones and later get fleshed out by DLCs. We have franchises bringing out a new game every year and whilst those don't mean a developement cycle of just one year per game, it still means they are saturating the market.
You want better games?
Then stop bitching about consoles and start holding on to that money. The ONLY voice you have that actually matters to the big game names in this industry is your wallet.

There are quite a few PC only RPG's out there. Just buy those and stop spending money on multiplatform games. If all PC gamers that are just to cool for the rest of us plebs got together and only purchased PC only games I would guess there would be quite a few more kickstarter projects out there asking for money. Then you could just spend your money on products that aren't even released yet but with the trade off of being more involved I the developer-customer dynamic and maybe get a game more tailored to your taste.
The fact is this console generation jus started and while developers WILL achieve much more in time with the hardware than they do now, high end gaming PC's are already more advanced than 'next gen' consoles. This means that the divide between what your precious pc can do and what most multiplatform games offer is only going to grow.
Imagine if this console generation lasts as long as the last one?
