Of course there's nothing wrong with console games. It's the consoles where the wrong lays.
If no consoles were ever made then all gamer's would be PC gamer's and would be enjoying a richer gaming life.

I disagree. I was a pure PC gamer until the Dreamcast then I played that and my PC. When the Xbox came out I was probably around 50/50 console to pc. When the 360 released I basically stopped worrying about having a PC that could play games.
The only thing I miss is the modding. Not playing games with cool mods, but the actual modding process. I was never that great with 3D level design but I still had fun. I had more fun with NPC scripting.
Graphics aren't the 'be all end all' for me so I don't really have any problem with console games and I like their ease of use, smaller size, and more economical price. I also vastly prefer a controller (even for shooters, weird I know) but most PC games have controller support now so this isn't too much of an issue.
PC are getting some really great retro style RPG's though and that is sparking my interest but those games are PC only and crowd funded and aren't affected by console games very much if at all so I don't see a conflict there.

Consoles ruined PC gaming. Before consoles became the number one Christmas toy, PC games were awesome, most still played and remembered to this day.
PC once sucked, you can't deny that. I guess you are a newbie in gaming industry.
Most people would resort to consoles. They may rethink about spending money on high-end pc. It's a common sense.
Should the PC version gets its fare share of dev to make sure it works, certainly. Should it be the exclusive platform of choice, no. Not all gamers are PC players and not all PCs are built equal so even if it were PC only it doesn't guarantee a better experience.

I think if they focused just on pc and not on all platforms much more could have been done. What do I know Im just a PC gamer that gets stuck with crappy ports on average 5 times a year.
No because the franchise would lose a large portion of its income meaning that the production spend would have to be greatly reduced.

Consoles were definitely always the #1 toy, even back in the SNES, PSX and N64 days. Not that PC gaming wasn't a major thing, but it wasn't some omnipresent mecca of gaming and it suffered from a lot of issues that today would be considered intolerable (when was the last time you had to use a boot disk?).
Oh, Maker, the boot disks. One of my most vivid gaming memories is of trying to get Cool Spot to work with those. I think I made about seven.
(Cool Spot was a platform game released in the nineties about the then 7-Up mascot. I had no interest in playing it, but my parents bought it for my little brother's birthday, so I felt obligated to try and force it to run. Most sound cards available at the time - including ours - were not capable of producing both the music and the sound effects at the same time. This would have been slightly less of a problem if the sound effects hadn't been necessary for avoiding enemies ...)
And the nineties were still an improvement over the Commodore 64 days. (All right, I admit part of the problem there was that almost every C64 game we owned was pirated by my dad and we had to spend a lot of time guessing what we were meant to do to make them run ...)
It might have been better if they had not made it for last gen consoles, so that it was only on 3 platforms instead of 5.

Getting Ultima 7 to run required pretty good knowledge of the config.sys and autoexec.bat.
Very strict requirements.
Same thing with a lot of the 'high end' games. System Shock I think was another doozy to get going. Very rewarding though.
If PC is so much better than everything else, why isn't there a PC 2, huh?
Check and mate.
PC has to be upgraded every generations.

PC's are too complicated for todays Console Gamers, EA execs said it themselves..

So do consoles, you just have it made for you by Sony and Microsoft and deal with the poor specs..

Not everybody is a dedicated gamer as some of us are. Consoles can deliver decent gaming experience with a reasonable price. Not to mention the longetivity. In PC, you have to upgrade each of the components. Consoles? Buy one and it can last longer than at least 5 years without huge necessary upgrades. In business perspective, they may do better. Well just my opinion.

I think it would be best keeping the fantasy inside the game... ![]()
lots of whining about the state of PC gaming here... I'd probably whine too if my only source for gaming news were IGN.

This is a very strange thing to say. Maybe even silly. As you know PC is an abbrevation and stands for "personal computer". It is not a name of one generation of computers so naming it "personal computer 2" doesn't really make much sense. PC is a PC and what changes are the components and they do have different names, higher numbers in names, new letters etc...
But to make you happy, there is a "personal computer 2" and it's called laptop.

Richer gaming life? Years of arcade gaming and countless childhoods with Atari, Nintendo, Sega et al takes a dump all over this.

Eh? Consoles have been around for decades. They were never complicated machines, but they were vastly more convenient, not to mention cheaper.
There is no dealing with poor specs. No one is firing up a Wii, Playstation or XBox to use productivity suites. Software optimization makes this irrelevant.
I would settle for them making it for the PC first and then porting it to consoles like they did Origins. I can't even begin to imagine if the console version of Origins would have been the only version released.
I wouldn't mind if it was made for PC first, so long as there was nothing missing like what happened with Origins. For all the talk I see around here about DA:O's tactical combat, anyone who played the game on PS3 or XBox didn't get any of that, since the tac cam and the ability to position characters on the battlefield were nonexistent.
Maybe the UI would be better? I'm not entirely convince though that the poor UI is because of the consoles, some design decisions are just daft.
