Wow I see the PC/Console fight still wages on I myself started on Console "Atari" and stayed a Console gamer for many years I have owned most of the Consoles that was released.
Then I got my first gaming PC but as I got older I decided that having to upgrade my PC to play different games was to much so I went back to Consoles and I will never go back to PC.

I think DAI should have been polished more and been given the right time & effort to make it the great game it could have been.

But demanding AAA titles like Dragon Age be PC only is a fever dream and you PC gamers need to accept it Console gaming and now Mobile gaming are the true money makers not PC gaming.

A console cost's 350-400 a pc is $1000 or more and I need a new one every 2 years to keep up.  So no thanks if games go to just pc a lot of gaming companies will be going bankrupt. 

 

I won't pretend PC gaming isn't more expensive, but you are not required to spent $1000, and certainly not every two years.

This is complete nonsense.  My last PC cost less than $1000 and lasted 7 years with a handful of upgrades.  Anyone building a new PC every 2 years has no idea how to build or maintain a PC.

 

The one I just built cost less than $1000 and I max out DA:I on a 2560x1440 screen.

 

In a perfect world games would be made on PC and ported to console.  I saw the PC version of DA:O and the Xbox 360 version of DA:O.  I also saw the PC version of the Witcher II, and the Xbox 360 version of the Witcher II.

Feel better now?? DA was ALWAYS meant to be a console game, DA:O came out for the xbox 360 long before it came out for PC's, they just made it a PC game to make more money. I get so tired of whiny PC gamers complaining about console gamers. If you don't like the game don't play it.

 

DAO was a PC game before being ported to the XBox and PS3. The PC release was delayed to give Bioware time to port DAO to the consoles. You are thinking of Mass Effect 1 which was an exclusive Xbox release for about six months and then released on PC..

You've gotta follow the sales.  The reality is that the inferior console ports of Origins outsold the PC version, and I'm sure the developers want as many people as possible to experience the game (even if you remove the business motivations).  The reality is the market for a hardcore Baldur's Gate-style RPG is niche compared to a AAA action RPG.  You can call it "dumbed down" or "catering to console peasants" or whatever, but it is what it is.  Hopefully Pillars of Eternity is the game that can scratch that itch for you.

pc's need constant upgrading to keep up with new games that's why I moved to consoles.  I looked at a top line gaming pc a few months ago it was $1800  so I got me an xbox one and a ps4 instead and still had cash left over.   pcs are the more expensive and can be a pain getting the right hardware.  Play what you want I prefer consoles for games and viewing my movies.  Its much easier and cheaper.

That's just silly. There's no way a top of the line PC from two years ago wouldn't run a current game just fine. Sure, it wouldn't run the game as well as the best machine from right now would. But if you absolutely need the top of the line in performance, switching to consoles won't work for you anyway.

I think if they focused just on pc and not on all platforms much more could have been done.  What do I know Im just a PC gamer that gets stuck with crappy ports on average 5 times a year.

Yes, but they'd sell less copies make less money and the games would probably not get made (at least as fast)

 

We can blame console people for a lot of things, but they do buy a lot of garbage at breakneck speeds so AAA companies love them more..

Uhh my latest upgrade cost me less than Ps4 costs... that said you still upgrade every year or so, but instead you get Microsoft and Sony to do it for you... At the same price for worse tech, honestly what are saying... its just rubbish.

I don't think any Console gamer here has said they were entitled to anything. Only PC gamers have.

 

In fact, this thread wouldn't have existed had a stereotypical PC elitist not even posted the thread in the first place. Take note, console gamers have never put up a fuss over anything. They firmly acknowledge the graphics and mods are PC things only and yet only the PC'ers (in almost every video gaming forum) instigate flame wars over ridiculous things like this.

I've seen quite a few go nuts over the fact their game doesn't look super awesome on their last gen consoles. What where they expecting? The game's MASSIVE. That's going to hurt somewhere on a last gen console, and obviously those were going to be graphics or else their machines would explode.

What I dont understand is the whole argument is pointless seriously guys PC gaming is behind both Console & Mobile gaming in regards to profits and income.
And remember the last time B-Ware made a AAA title PC only it was The Old Republic and now that is free to play granted there are a lot of dedicated Star Wars fans that still pay but not everyone does my point is EA tried it it and didnt work "Poor Sales" so it aint gonna happen again.

That wasn't claiming that console gamers were entitled to anything. He simply stated a half truth. 

 

Anyway, I didn't come to this thread to debate. I came here to make an obvious truth. PC gamers instigate wars like these all the time and I'm sick of it.
