Hello,

I just don't understand what it is doing and it is decimating my party? :P (I went to Adamant on nightmare at level 10, which is fine. I'm not struggling with combat.)

But. I just took Walking Bomb with Dorian and the upgrade. I loved this spell in DA2. I read the description in the character screen but I still don't get it.

So. Firstly I turned it off in tactics and he still uses it.

Then, it makes an enemy purple and the enemy takes tiny amounts of damage. And, it is golden in Dorian's toolbar while it is active? Then, when the enemy dies, the purple thing jumps to the nearest other person?

This is all good, except that, when combat is finished, the purple thing jumps to my nearest character. At this point, in tac cam, I double click to make this character run as far away as possible but everyone comes out of combat mode and runs after them. Then, my character takes damage and explodes and my party takes damage.

I have no idea how to stop this. :P I suppose I could respec after Adamant and get rid of it. (Like I said, Dorian uses it without me triggering it. I did turn off AI behaviours and the thing in tactics.)

I'd quite like to finish Adamant. Any ideas on either how this spell works, so I can try to control it somehow. (I can't even figure out what it is doing.) Or how to avoid wiping my party after every battle?

Cheers,

Firk

Edit: The only other thing I'm thinking is that maybe the purple thing isn't Walking Bomb. I wonder if it is something Blackwall is doing. Dunno. But I only noticed it after I took it.

Edit again. To be clear. Looks like this. Then it gets bigger. Then kablammo, party takes lots of damage.

Walking bomb does friendly fire. It also seems to sometimes bug out. I've also had that problem where my pc had eternal walking bomb on them after combat, I had to control Dorian and manually detonate WB to get rid of it. Personally, I just re-specced Dorian to get rid of walking bomb, because it was kinda annoying for my cqc rift mage. Not sure about why Dorian's still using it if you've turned it off, however. That sounds like a separate bug.

TL;DR - re-spec out of WB, or turn off friendly fire.

The enemy becoming a purple spirit is NOT walking bomb, that is spirit mark and, it's lit up in the action abr because once all other targets are dead, you can deactivate it and kill he last enemy. Those purple ones either ignore or fight for you but, the area is not clear and, you can't get loot until they are drad so, that's why you can deactivate it if you don't want to wait for it to expire.

!! Thanks for responses.

So, with Spirit Mark, which I also have no idea how to use, only just took and turned off. (Although it still seems to be firing.)

Does that jump to new targets? It's really just the fact that it is hurting my party after combat that is the problem - because they won't hold position when they jump out of combat.

The good news is that Adamant was fairly easy, even despite my Walking Bomb, or whatever it is, woes. I'm just finishing up the fade, so I may just spec it out.

Also, I appear to have Spirit Mark as two icons on my toolbar. One is a hand in a purple thing. The other is a gold skull.

Edit: Or. This bit has mage Hawke. Is she casting the purple thing? Maybe she is. I have no idea. Maybe its not me casting it.

It's odd to be beating combat relatively easily and having no idea what these things do. :P I'd actually really like to understand these abilities so I can use them.

Here is another pic. Shortly after this, one attached to Blackwall and he exploded, taking Varric with him. :P

This does look like WB to me. Have you checked your PC and companions' weapons? It is not uncommon to find weapons that have the "10% chance to fire walking bomb". Had this happen to me, with a staff I equipped to Dorian, before I had put any points in his necro spec.

Or it may be a weird bug.

Wow. Walking Bomb weapon. I dunno if I would want to use that.

You know? This all happened in the Abyss quest, which I've now finished. Loved the last battle.

I think that what I was seeing was Mage Hawke casting Walking Bomb. Crazy chick. Killing my party. :P

It's sometimes hard to tell because I was so focused on not dying, I had no idea where it was coming from. But I reckon that is it.

Some of these glitches speak of I am glad I have never seen. Never had walking bomb merc my team members. Never had spirit mark allow an enemy to kick my butt . Most combat glitches I read on boards I never see.

As for Walking bomb on weapons; Best. Thing. Ever! If I am not tossing hidden blades on my gear its walking bomb.
