What do you guys do whenever you can't for reason or another play DA (either Inquisition or earlier)? Can you concentrate on other stuff?

 

For me DAI is such a new find I'm still enamored to it. Sure whenever I'm at work or something like that I can take my mind from it but whenever I don't have anything meaningful to do my mind wanders back to it.

Forum diving is one thing I do but it won't keep me entertained for long periods at a time.

 

I also got mobile games (Baldur's Gates) going but lately I can't get myself concentrated in the story, especially now that I'm doing the boring part that is the ToB grind.

I think most people just treat the BGII expansion like it doesn't exist... it's just so uninteresting. the HLAs are overpowered and the talking characters exist only to tell you where to go and find someone to kill. It gets pretty good at the end of watchers keep and in the final chapter, but the time spent grinding is not worth it.

I usually stick my nose in DA Wiki to read and re-read all the things or troll the forums (mostly when I'm stuck at work). If I get bored with that I read a book or play the piano to keep my fingers busy.

But recently, I got caught in a DA series re-addiction and I am not managing to play any other thing.

Haven't had a chance to try Inquisition yet, as I'm waiting to buy it after I get a new PC. In the meantime I have been slowly trying to finish DA2.

I'm the worst case scenario. Followed EVERYTHING DA:I related from day one, got into the Keep beta, preordered as soon as it was available, lined up at GS to pick it up at midnight, also bought the Inquisitor's Edition, yet haven't been able to play because my rig can't handle it yet, and my cash flow can't either.

 

What I've been doing is watching Allen play it on YouTube and getting frustrated when he doesn't explore everywhere I would, and he takes a week to upload the next set (He's done now, and I refuse to watch the last video because it's his end game).

 

So.. I'm in the process of buying my new GPU, and saving up for the Mobo/CPU/Memory cards I need. I figure I'll FINALLY be able to play in about 3-4 months.

All I need to do to forget about DAI is think about the poor RNG for schematic drops and I immediately lose interest in DAI and can fully concentrate on other things. Even with short list and friends in high places perks getting the class schematics for the char you are playing is a chore. Fun game but spending hours to farm chests or vendors is far from fun. I normally have finished the game before getting half the schematics I would like.

Play other games. I got KOTOR and Jade Empire on my laptop so I can play those games instead. They're better than DA2/I anyway.

I took a break from Inquisition because it makes me yearn for the Witcher 3. I'm staying away from western RPGs altogether because of it.

Playing Bioware's other masterpiece Mass Effect well at least that's what I'm doing at the moment. Will return for another go at DA when I've done ME3 though but I haven't started ME3 yet probably will at some point tommorrow

Also got back into Shadowrun Returns.

And Witcher 2 on my last few evenings after work.

On the list is also Alien Isolation, but need to be the right mindset for that one I think, and get into sneaksy thief mode.

 

Also a little bit of DA MP with a friend who recently bought the game, and has never played a DA game. I figure DAMP is a good a way as any to teach the basic combat skills, speccing characters etc. and get a feel for the game.
