But Morrigan would have to want to let that happen, as far as we're told.

I'm really wondering about this, too. For me it seems like as if Flemeth passed Mythal's essence on through the Eluvian. Would make sense that there is a different incarnation of her now, and Morrigan would be a logical choice because of her connection with Flemeth and Mythal. But Flemeth also said the host must be willing and Morrigan is not.

I can't help but laugh over this debate. It's not like this is the first time we've seen Flemeth (a Flemeth) die in Dragon Age. To me it looked like Solas absorbed a piece of Flemeth, making her far more powerful now than she ever was.

How can she be more powerful when a piece of her is missing, so to speak. Or do you mean that Mythal controls Solas now? To me it looked like she sacrificed something of her for him, maybe because they share the same goal.

Actually, there is another thing I was wondering about. If you never did the Dark Ritual, do you still see how Flemeth sends something through the Eluvian and how Solas absorbes somthing from her? Because I thought that he either took the Old God's soul or Mythal's essence and whatever he did not take, she sent through the Eluvian. But how would that work if you never did the Dark Ritual?

Flemeth sure went out with a whimper. Didn´t see that coming.

I saw Flemeth touching an active eluvian, but it didn't look like she was "sending" anything through, specifically. In the end, after mutual sad apologies, Solas does absorb something while she seems to "die", then he turns all glowy-eyed and wrapped in shadow and ominous.

She was. She was either sending the Old God soul, or the power she'd been building for centuries in preparation for Fen'Harel's encounter with her.

But the question was: What do you (the player) see if there isn't an Old Gods soul? Is the cutscene any different? Some players never did the Dark Ritual.

It's the same. Mythal has been cultivating her power in preparation for Solas' return, so it can be assumed that whatever power she set aside for Morrigan is what was being sent through the eluvian for her to find. I'm just speculating that it's probably likely if you did the DR that Urthemiel's soul was also sent.

I don't understand how is flemeth suppossed to come back this time, because this time the problem it's not her body, it's her power what Solas takes. I mean, I'd love it if she comes back, but I don't see how. Am i missing something?

And I'm going to miss her a lot too, I hate it that it was either Solas or her

If Flemeth was killed off for good at the end of Inquisition, then I think it'd be a waste of a great character. Flemeth has basically been relegated to cameo roles, even in Origins where she was established (how can you cameo your first appearance? :P). During all of those times, we have had.... very little to go off of with her in regards to who she was.

Indeed, all we knew was "She's a mage, powerful, old, respected by the Dalish, can become a Dragon, and talks in cryptic comments". But look at the big revelation concerning her in Inquisition. That, to me, came so far out of left field. Bioware's said they planned for it from the beginning, but they didn't drop enough stuff in the games to foreshadow it.

Oh sure she was revived at an altar to Mythal, but that was the only thing we had to suggest her nature, and no one had even really posted theories saying that's who she was in the past. People went from Andraste, to an OGB, to both, to Fen'Harel. Never Mythal.

Not saying it's not a great idea for her. Also not saying that we needed an obscene amount of things to foreshadow it. But if this was Bioware's plan from the start.... they really didn't give Flemeth enough in my view.

That said, I doubt she's done. She knew what Sols planned and she's been known to plan around death before. I honestly doubt her story is done. But who knows. She sent the essence of Mythal through the Eluvian hoping it would find its way to Morrigan, so maybe she doesn't have the means anymore.

Or maybe she does, because she housed Mythal for so long, and she's picked up some tricks that will help her come back later on.

If we never see Flemeth or hear Kate as Flemeth I'll eat my hat.

She's not done for sure.

I always loved Flemeth. And I worship Kate Mulgrew, but I'm completely okay with that being Flemeth's last scene in the Dragon Age story.

Some would disagree, but I found the post-credits scene suitably epic (the reveal, the acting, the animations! <3) for it to be Flemeth's send off. I won't mind if she does her thing again and shows up to die again in DA4 though :P

I'm glad Flemeth gave Solas enough rope to hang himself with, and I look forward to her "inside" assistance in kicking the stool out from under him when the time comes.

How is being diminished becoming stronger?

Don't worry as usual she will jump out from some bushes and tell to us "now isn't this a surprise?

I don't think this is the end for Flemeth, but I don't think she's 'passed her soul' onto Morrigan or anything. For one thing, although Morrigan likes to acquire power and preserve 'old magic', I don't think she'd accept the role. Especially not if she has Kieran to think about. It's depressing enough that she ends up a servant of her mother if she drinks from the Well. Having her life derailed onto the same purpose as Flemeth's just seems unpleasant to say the least.

Though I guess it isn't the first time a companion's become the plot's chew toy though (Anders and Justice spring to mind).

I think it's more likely that part of her is sitting in a soul jar somewhere, like with the amulet she gave Hawke. Or she could even be disembodied in the Fade/Crossroads now. Who really knows what she's capable of? Mythal apparantly managed to survive a long time without a host.
