First I should say I like the idea that promotions permanently increase MP character attributes, because it really gives players incentive to promote. However, for some players who play this game 24/7 and already had tons of promotions, they may find the game "too easy" because their lvl1 characters may have more HP/AP than a lvl20 character of "casual players", and this is the reason we have so many "OMG DC got nerfed, game becomes too easy, Biovar pls" threads, it's not the players' fault, but rather a game design flaw.
So how about a little change? In Borderlands 2, players can increase their health/shield/damage output by accumulating "Badass Ranks" which can be acquired by completing various in-game challenges, similar to the promotion rewards in DAI, those added bonuses do have a "diminishing return" but no maximum cap. However players do have an option to "toggle Badass Ranks" meaning you'll return to the original state, with 0% added bonuses in attributes if you toggle it off. Many elite BL2 players choose to disable their Badass Ranks to showcase soloing bosses or testing builds, for more hardcore challenge, or to give a more accurate presentation.
For the reason stated above, I'd like to see a similar option in DAI MP to toggle our promotion bonuses off/on, by toggling it off, you play this game in "hardcore mode" and can earn certain related titles/banners or get more exp per game, of course you can toggle it back on at any time as long as you're not in a game. In this way even the most "pro" players won't complain how "easy" the game is, because they can always use the original characters (not necessarily the Katari
) to solo Perilous (or any above difficulty added later on) with added bonuses "off".
So what do you think? Do you agree that giving players the option to toggle promotion bonuses on/off is a good idea?
